This game is underrated, people call it one of the worst games ever and I don't get it. The game is hard as hell, I never beat it as a kid but beat it about 15 years later when I was playing classic Nintendo games one day. It is odd there was never a sequal of any kind to this game on any platform, with today's technology I bet they could make it interesting.

Well after reading the comments, I don't feel too badly that I never beat this when I was 10 years old. I played quite a bit, but I think I gave up because it freaked me out too much and/or was too damn frustrating. Thanks for putting these up for the memories.:D

is the torch stronger than the machette? I normally used the machette cause it threw faster than the axe. This game was fucking tough as hell. I should try to beat it now that I'm older

Torch is def stronger then Machete.  Torch takes 1 bar of his health on each shot, Machete doesn't do that I believe.

Oh my god thank you so much for playing this. When i was a kid i remember playing this and dying from the other monster having stupid swords. I never beat this game because I never understood it at the time but I found this by one of those "top ten" videos. Thank you so much for playing this it brings childhood memories :)

Lighting fireplaces with the lighter in a proper order will drop a letter in one of the large cabins then in one of the last 2 large cabins by the lake, you will find a Torch inside. It's the second best weapon until you get the pitchfork.

Wow! I never realised the sweater reduced damage ON THE OUTSIDE. When I took full damage in cabin fights as a child, I thought the sweater was useless. It even lowers damage against Mother!

No she's not mandatory. But she does provide the sweater on Day 2 (better defense) and the mighty Pitchfork on Day 3. (best weapon).

Jason appears randomly. Sometimes he'll take a while to appear and other times he'll attack within 3 seconds of his last encounter. It's randomized. The fireplaces are all in large cabins. =)

Incredible run dude, haven't seen a vid yet that accounted for fighting his mom, I fought her once and had a hell of a time beating her on the first day, but you took her out with ease.

Gonna have to get a copy of this game just for keeps, this game was the reason for my recurring fear of Jason popping out of nowhere. :X

always found it funny though how like the avgn said, he's much harder to beat in this game than anywhere, else, thankfully no one had to fight his vg self in the films >_>

The cruelest thing in the game was the fact that you could accidentely land on a knife that spawned when you had the torch or pitchfork.

I used to play this so much as a kid, but I always would have a sudden realization that I was all alone in the house, and I would get VERY scared and have to turn it off and go play outside with friends.

On this game it evil i was on the fourth go to kil jason and when i got ot his cabin he killed the final kid and the game ended and i hdad the sweater and the best weapon also they haveshould have made the game over screen something else but o well ;) Ps i love when jason is in a cabin and you walking around in the cabin and u al of sudden run into him byt to sureprize you they shouldn't have but his health bar until you fought him in that cabin. I like how he attacks on the path. Great playing

I remember playing Friday The 13th (NES) and what I like the most is A) the music when you enter the cabins and B) Jason being in the cabin with you but you didn't know exactly where then !!! and C) Jason attacking you out of nowhere. Awesome game!

Torch and Pitchfork both do 1 bar damage with 1 hit on Jason. You can see it if you fight him in a cabin but that's the worst place to fight him on day 3.

First of all, WOW! One of the seven games I had as a kid and I could just never get anywhere with it. Amazing job! Couple of questions though: Going in the woods is not required at all to beat this game? Also, what's the purpose of the sweater you acquire from beating Jason's mom's head?

You get healing vials/potions more often in the woods and caves then being outside but it's not required to be in the woods to finish the game. The sweater gives you armor against Jasons attacks.

Use your memory, it's not hard since there aren't alot of large cabins. And if you go in a clockwise or counter clock wise motion then you can keep track of which ones are lit.
