Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a company that owns this type of machine (or even similar) in the Philippines. I'm an industrial designer who design parts and build prototypes that frequently needed CNC machining services. For now, I need to travel to Hong Kong and China to have the parts done which is costing me more time and money. Can anyone tell me where I can avail such service in the Philippines? Thanks.
@michael2nicolaisen - Starragheckert PSI+, PSI+ constitutes dedicated CAD/CAM software designed for the efficient programming and therefore milling of multi-blade components such as impellers, blisks, bladed rotors, diffusers, compressor and pump wheels and even nozzle guide rings.
@755hp its a compressor wheel for a model jet engine like the jet cat P200 - at full thrust its compressing 375 liters of air a second and rotates with 112.000 rpm - so very high precision is necessary...
Absolutely excellent; it is one of the most amazing things I've seen. I can't imagine the machining and programming work that must have gone into the design of this machine; as someone who doesn't not a lot about CAD/CAM what type of software is used to program this machine. Is it graphical oriented in nature? Again, absolutely amazing machine. Keep up the great work!!!!
@deaftodd Depends on the spindle speed, cutting load (feedrate) and materal being cut. So, yes, they can flex. However, the shorter tools flex too under the right conditions.
@deaftodd If the feed rate is high enough then it will flex, but 99.9% of the time that wont happen because the spindle rpm is around 1500 - 2000+ rpm witch is really fast! so the depth of cut isn't that deep.
nice job ! that's a mixed flow turbine impeller xD
i wanna buy one of these, coz i'm working on a project - 120 CFM of air with pressure 6 Bars but... :-( i can't find any info here... stupid country :- (
Really nice work! I can honestly say I've never heard of StarragHeckert but I can guarantee I won't forget it.

that is a nice tool cutting with the whole edge and getting no chatter

.Though initially during machining it was horrible sight... The finished product was ABSOLUTELY SEXXY..........:D

The beauty of computer running a machine. By hand this would take weeks

The blade geometry on things like this is so impressive. It's clearly taken a battering in some flow modelling software.

Impressive! Is this video footage shown at real speed, or sped up to cover the entire process?? Looks extremely fast to be live footage speed....

I f the end mill is long and thin, do they flex a little?

arnold02000 1 year ago
@deaftodd it would be a carbide tool taking light fast cuts so there would only be the smallest amount
DarryllK 1 year ago
@deaftodd they always flex a little, even if they're big and buffy... ;)

Thats cool, it looks similar to an impeller off a Napier turbo dont suppose anyone knows if it is or not?
