  • first he will f*** his knees up jumping so high, 2nd the movie changes after like 20 seconds to him in another position which tells me a lot, third look carefully at the size of that rope, correct jump rope take you under your arm pit, that rope is about 5 inches too long. I jump rope for taekwondo X6 5 min rounds. We dont train 2 see how long we can last, it should be over within 1 min to 1min 30secs, boxers its all about staying in for Xamount of time, with TKD its kill in 2 mins max

  • Ross Enamait sucks. Congrats he can go max for 45 seconds. Try doing that for 30 minutes, which is what I do on a daily basis. I'll take endurance at a high level over what Ross Enamait does.

  • @jaydecastro Get an Aero Speed Rope. They are made by Buddy Lee Jump Ropes. Easily the best rope available. Kind of pricey but well worth it, considering they never break.

  • I'm sure it's a great exercise but this demonstration is not something that I would present to the world as being the king of jump-ropers. You have none of the grace of mayweather - not in the least! This does however definitively show the size of your swollen ego.

    My advice to you is simple: Get over it and until you develop finesse, grace and style in jumproping and whatever else, you have no right to feel pride and brag about it. Capice?

  • Coolwasim, most jump ropes that are used are made of a kind of soft plastic. They are called speed ropes and are developed to do quick jumping. They are quite cheap, but hurt quite a lot if they hit you in the back while you're jumping. Think you can get them at sports autorithy.

I think I'm decent... above ordinary... but I'm not Floyd Mayweather. I took video of myself to help me improve (and it works). I bought video editing software to edit videos of my fights...I just did this video for practice and decided to post it. Calm down dude... I only keep this video up for the entertainment of responses like yours

  • I for one think your video is very inspirational to people who are thinking about undertaking this kind of workout. I absolutely love jumping rope it's one of my favourite cardio workouts and I always recommend this to my clients. Ignore the negative comments, these dumb ass people obviously have nothing better to do with their time.

  • I love it I wish I could be half as good at it, I tried over the summer but I got a shin strain and gave it up. But I am now temped to try again. Anyone who has any tips on how to avoid the strain I would love to know.

  • i had probs too, plus i am a big guy (220lbs, 5'6") but i intook calcium (milk, vitamins) did exercises (raise up and down slowly on tippy toes) and start out on a 'giving' floor, never straight out on concrete, it'll blow your joints out. any more questions, send me a msg.

  • Lol, looks more like dancing, but nice rythm. How long do you keep at it? I skipropes instead of going jogging - (7-12 min ropeskipping) compared to jogging, maybe I should do more? 15-20 min for effective stamina/cardiowork? I also focus on just jumping on one leg at a time for as long as I can. Does the type of rope make a difference? I use a steelwire one, covered in plastic.

    I am getting all the footwork down that you showed.

    However I am running into a huge issue of having calve and knee cramps during and post skipping... pain about a 8 out of 10...

    No matter how much water, banana , and stretching I do before skipping...

    The only remedy that relieves the pain is hot water after...

    Any tips on how to PREVENT this issue?

  • A lot of the time, people cramp up because they static stretch before a workout.

    If you're getting enough water and salts then I think the problem is either overuse of muscles, inadequate warm-up, static pre-stretching or the combination.

  • drink more water throughout the day

    drink water 1 hour after every meal, never with a meal

    Stretch for at least 20 seconds

  • Take in less calories and you'll lose fat and look ripped. Lift weights to keep your strength up, not to get bulkier. Do a lot of cardio.

    I got one long enough ... when standing in the middle of the rope the handles come up to my arm pits... but I am still having a hard time keeping momentum and keep tripping on the rope... should I get a longer rope?

    The rope I have is a buddy lee aero speed, buddy lee brochure said to cut length to shoulder height, but everyone on here says to armpit... help?

  • I don't know if there is some golden rule as to how long the rope should be... what did was test out many ropes... I own like 12 different ones and I was amazed at how much better some are then others. Your skills will increase vastly when you find the one that's best for you. Depending on the material and the weight of the rope it will have more or less of a tendency to bounce off the floor... my blue rope (from the video) is probably longer then it should be, but it doesn't bounce nearly

  • as much as others that I have... when they bounce a lot off the floor it messes you up. Anyway my point is keep testing a lot of ropes till you find the one you like the best... I have since grown out of the blue rope... it's not heavy enough so it slows me down now that I'm faster.

When I jump rope, even when going 1,000,000,000 RPM's it never comes off out of respect because I have a bigger dick than even the most manliest of all jump ropes.
