Thanks for your comments! I agree with your observation of the lack of paranoia, there's definitely some changes I'd make if I'd had more time. As for the music, gahh, you know how hard it was to find a recent song urban song with a somewhat haunting tone? Very!
It is interesting to see a modern version. You could work on editing more. And sound is definitely not fitting even if you want to have a modern feeling.
The idea in the original one is the paranoia (the paranoia of oneself and the husband) All I can see here is just the repetition but not the feeling of the original.
also the amount of time it takes to make a film does not constitute a better film. sometimes the less time it takes to make something can mean there are more mistakes. just something to think about
might have been better if not for the music. if you remember the film that Deren made did not originally have any music at all. plus the music that was added about 10 years later was very obscure and felt about as mysterious as the film itself was. i watched it without the music and felt better.
:) good

wtf is with this music????

the best way you could emulate Maya Deren would be to become authentically yourself.
ps never apologize for your results, either make changes or put it in the rubbish bin.

@alymb03 Anything by David Lynch or Nurse With Wound would do fine as a soundtrack.

Holy shit. I'm so glad you mentioned WWBM! In a class of three hundred freshman filmmakers we had to watch it twice in a row (Bad decision?).

Haha me too, Barber right? You were you in FMA 102 also? And you made that audio story with Reed.
shadowfox2988 4 years ago
Yes, it was Barber. But it was 101. I don't know who Reed is, but Barber showed my movie titled 'Bad Movie.'

Oh ok, I wasn't there for the final screening. Is it on Youtube?
