I like this video. I ride a KLR. Like to take it slow on dirt but boy when i hit asphalt watch out! dirt is a whole 'nother animal.. Especially on a top heavy bike.
@whaler287 yeah, I did. October - Arkansas TAT and then the next year, TN through CO TAT on the Dakar. Dropped 'er once... had to bushwack in TN when I got lost on an unused ATV trail... it was great.
only choice for a decent price is the 650. The sherpa, and klr250 barely get along with a heavy rider and the seats suck. THe crf 230.. HA.. the suzuki's make those seats specifically to torture riders.
SO what ya gunna learn on if you only have one bike?
Thanks man! Like sdanville so eloquently put below, it was not the most exciting video... but it was our first time out those bikes and our first time in the dirt all together, but we are learning. I have a TAT trail ride planned for October. Should be fun!
when do ya'll plan on going back out there? Thanks Again for telling me about this place. I have been out there a half dozen times since you told me and everytime I have a blast!!
Well it looks like time to put the dirt tires back on my Suzuki Dr 650 ,and head out to the desert. Its ok to have scratches on a Dual Sport Bike! Nice Vid....

how do you like the BMW F650 Dakar, im planing on getting an 2006, its going for 6900, is that a good price??
mtheity24 2 years ago
that is a horrible price. Assuming you mean used. They don't make the dakar anymore (right?). I bought my first f650 for 3k. 2 years old.
I thought it was far too plush for serious pounding. But it never seriously broke. The suspension was squishy and not adjustable.
