It is literally a musical portmanteau of Noel's and Ryan's Wonderwall. Without Noel writing Wonderwall, Ryan Adams would not have been recognized so easily. He indeed uses chords but doesn't play them. He plays them in a style that is very similar to finger picking. Nonetheless, do you research, and try not to argue.
