@TEHEPICBROS Thanks for watching my #aviationvideos of Stansted Airport. You are right, Stansted is very much dominated by Ryanair, and EasyJet. Flybe used to use Stansted many years ago but pulled out; I'm pleased you liked the video and thanks for taking time to watch and comment.
@aircraftspotter94 Thanks aircraftspotter94, I'm pleased you liked this video from Stansted #airport most of my STN vids are filmed from Belmer Road, this is the main viewing area for STN. I hope this helps.
hey amazing vid as always, just wondering where the best place to get footage of planes taking off and landing are at stansted as i am going there tomorrow, Please reply and keep the videos coming!
@GREENY7798 Hello Jack thanks for watching my Stansted video and for your comment. I've put some tips up on my website all the w's dancingmonkey co uk specifically for spotting at Stansted. You basically need to head to the Long Stay Car Park - but carry on the perimeter road all the way through Belmer End village until you come to a long straight road, you'll see loads of cars parked up. Take a look at my tips page for more detail. Hope you have a good day.
Hey, I loved the vid, grats on that! I have a question though, at 1:48 is it Thomson? Why does it have the nose of an old AirBerlin airbus and the engines of a Germanwings aircraft? I don't get it. I've also seen several Aegean aircrafts with a white nose, why is that?
@KaLiniA56 Hi there thanks for your message. The aircraft is a Germanwings A319. Germanwings used to have a lot of different logo jets and this was TMobile. The nose cone (radar dome) was, I assume a replacement. It may have been that an Air Berlin dome was available,
@airvaro Hello airvaro, no Aegean used Stansted as it's London hub for some months before obtaining slots to operate from Heathrow. This flight was one of it's numerous scheduled operations to Stansted. Once the slots at LHR were obtained they moved all operations there. I hope this helps;.;
@orangealex17 hello orangealex17, this was filmed a year ago. As a charter airline Monarch would more than likely have bee doing summer sun flights for one of the tour operators.Haven't seen them at STN this year though.
@BoeingAviator121 Hi BoeingAviator121, thanks A LOT, that was a really nice comment. I am glad you liked the video and thank you for taking time to comment.
Cracking video there, loved it! Can you tell me the name of the airline of the plane at 5:5 the one with the black and white fuselage with stars on it? It's a nice design.
Hi hatethetube, thanks very much for taking time to comment on my video. The aircraft with the black & white colour scheme with the planet and stars is Titan Airways, a specialist charter/acmi operator based at London Stansted. They operate 737, 757 and soon 767. Hope that helps :)
Hi thanks for your comment, personally I haven't seen the Thomsan 767s at STN very often, not sure but think they may have done charters to Egypt. I'm sure others with better routing knowledge can chip in
hi there thanks for your message. As far as I know Gatwick is one of the worst airports anywhere for photography. I remember reading that in a magazine some time ago. I flew from LGW the other week and it really is like a big supermarket, very few windows certainly none in the departures area that i was in. As for outside, again, i think it's bad as well. sorry, if anyone else knows better please advise
which is bigger? luton airport or stansted airport? how many minutes does it take to ride taxi from central london to stansted airport? to luton airport?
hi seaboo143, thanks for your comment. Stansted is bigger in terms of terminal size, airport ground area, runway length and passenger numbers/traffic. But Luton is a more varied airport in terms of number of carriers. I've not done a taxi ride from Central London to either airport, I would guess STN is about 50mins by road, personally i think it's a more pleasant journey to STN than LTN, less traffic, better roads etc.
ahh.. tnx.. i will be flying to london nxt week for the first time.. i will be arriving at stansted.. by air asia x.. hehe.. because its cheap! hehe.. :))
bring back mile high!!, bring back mile high!!! thanks very much poorpilot00, that was a cheesy but entertaining show and all those shots from Stansted were filmed in the really quiet early days, not sure it would be so easy now, Ryanair tails would be everywhere!
I do agree with you about Ryanair tails everyware, because Ryanair is has the most routes from Stansted and it's the biggest base there, second of course is Easyjet.
Hi Jackd166, thanks for your comment and enjoy your trip!. This video makes STN look busy and varied, because it was shot over a few months. Today however, STN is a dull airport for spotting i'd say if you are going to LHR, stick with it!. STN is Ryanair, EasyJet, Air Berlin, Aegean, Aurigny, FedEx, and not much else. In fact more airlines go to Luton than STN now!!
Flying there saturday (11th)!!! from Belfast. Im spotting at Heathrow and should get some videos up but this makes me want to spot at Stansted as well.
The Ryanair building is a new maintenance hangar, it's only been up and running for a few months. I think it's big enough to hold about 2 or 3 planes at one time and from memory I read somewhere that there is some sort of training/flight simulator or something there as well.
Realiy good video, Love the variety at Stansted, Nice to see some Thomsonfly 767-300's and flymonarch A321's, Keep up the good work, A defo 5* Video :)
First off, thanks very much for your comment about the camera work, it makes it worthwhile since it's so hard to achieve.
As for the Air Berlin nose - I said exactly the same thing. I've not seen the TMobile livery before now, and also wondered about the grey engine covers, I wondered if those had been changed as well.
Yes, I thought that too, certainly up until this past weekend 24/25 of January that's all I had seen at STN, but on Saturday 24the 767 was there and on Monday 26th the 737 was in.
I loked on wikipedia, stansted uses 767s on EL AL flights to Tel aviv, and thomsonfly winter only sunday flights to la romana in the dominican republic, as well as fly cruises tomiami and barbados.
Thanks I'm glad you like the videos, even if you have pointed out something that I was hoping might be missed LOL! for a couple of shots my tripod wasn't totally level, hence the slight uphill on a couple of the aircraft - this is only a YouTube edit so I wouldn't put that sort of shot in my DVD, still I'm glad you liked
wow i thought standsted was dominated by ryanair and flybe etc. great vid!

What was the Thomson 767 doing at STN? They dont operate long-haul from there do they?
rachaelmatt 1 year ago
@rachaelmatt It was flying to Sharm-El-Sheikh in Egypt. Unsure if this was a one off as usually operate 757's
