keep up the good fight.with all the govt corruption talk our fallen heroes tend to be forgotten. keep up the fight to keep them remembered, they ARE NOT a statistic they are people with kids and families.they are heroes and we owe our lives to them! god bless all of our heroes
Oh sorry, I just came here from another Vietnam video that was about vietnam war as a whole and thought that this video is same kind of one, not tribute video for your brothers in arms.
Of course I wasnt blaming soldiers from things that happened in Vietnam war or in any war, politicians are those that should be blamed from like usage of chemical weapons & heavy civilian casualties. Ive heard that nowadays lots of veterans have helped in areas where civilian population is still affected from it
@Pvjinflight Who the hell do you think you are....Your from FINLAND & have no right to degrade my brothers who fought in any WAR....All you know is what the media put out. AND IF YOU WERE NOT IN VIETNAM YOU HAVE NO RIGHT AT ALL TO EVEN TALK ABOUT IT....THESE MEN WERE ALL 3 TIME VOLUNTEERS, STRONG, WELL TRAINED AND VERY PATRIOTIC PLUS THEY had the B---S to go. since it was a Brain Twisting, nerve wracking job....but we did it BECAUSE WE LOVED IT AND WE WERE DAM GOOD AT IT ALSO......RLTW Brasso
coprhead6. I did not know your Dad, I had already left the unit before he came, however, I asked some of the other guys who were there around the same time and they all liked him and said he was a good PL and and that's something you should be proud of. As far as a branch transfer, if your really serious about going to the Rangers...you need to convince the people who are in charge of you LOL RLTW
My father is Ret. Cpt. Richard Grimes. He was a PL in the Charlie Rangers in '69-'70 and went back to the states and helped remake Ranger School (including the now replaced Desert Phase). I'm hoping to branch Infantry (cadet, 2013) and follow in my father's footsteps.
As a young PVT.A very large percent of my NCO's served in Vietnam, some in LRP/LRRP units,I can say without hesitation and without a doubt, that they were instrumental in keeping my butt alive.I'm blessed with three son's because they had the dedication and duty,by honoring their fallen brother's to make sure my generation survived and we were trained properly. There's a lot of us walking around because guys like these.past and present....Cared
Most of you go to work and worry how much paper work you'll have to do before work, or who made the coffee at the office, or a dickhead boss. To you it's just another day at the office. Go work in the office these men worked in every day .
when you go home you think it was abad day. A bad day for them is when they carry a friends body off the bird. To many of them didn't come home. But if you ever meet one that did you better shake his hand. They went through hell so you wouldn't have too !
my dad was in LRRP.he is in the group photo 2nd on right behind Lt. his name is Noah Hall if anyone remembers him please call me 205-417-3800.he was in 173 airborne,75th rangers 51st inf.
Thanks from my father, Sgt Lance Chandler, E Co, 75th Rangers, 68-69 Recondo #915. Served on LZ Baldy and LZ Bronco. Your always in my prayers pops. See you when I make roll call in heaven!
CPL Nowell, I looked up your dads name in A History of the MACV RECONDO School (1966-1971) He was in class # 12-68 PFC Chandler, Lance T RN 0914 Unit Americal Div (which was E Co) So his Recondo number is 914....sometimes over time things are not heard or misunderstood..especially after so many years pass. NOW you have it right from the official listing. You should be dam proud of your Dad, Out of the 5,395 troops who went to the course only 3,357 graduated..
I don't think "kids sent to war" was intended as an insult. I am 65 years old and it breaks my heart to see our "kids" going to war and coming home dead. They are our future, the best of the best and war has always taken our best. Thank God for those "kids" and watch over them, bring them home safe.
Brother what a fitting video for this Memorial day 2009. Rags VNVMC, J Chapter, San Berdoo, CA. Mobile Riverene Force, Navy, Mekong Delta, 1968-'69. Love, respect and brotherhood.
Thank you larycaleb...I intend on doing just that....it's not the soldier who starts the war it's the politicians.

The greatest soilder I ever knew was my father SGT.Leiuan Walter Hansen,Vietnam 67-68, he was in E-20 4th Platoon,4th squad,"The Professional".
He received a purple heart and a silver star for his bravery on Feb 19,1968 with his fellow brothers in 4th squad.
That fateful day the five man squad took home 2 silver stars,3 bronze stars and 5 purple hearts, and kicked the shit out of Charlie!
I love you pop!
