that is an oddly specific genre. But as far as lables and that shit goes, i could care less. I like punk in general. and i have to agree that blink 182 isn't very "punk" in general....but they're a fun fucking band and that was kind of the point of their music....well with the exception of that last album. Besides blink is the least one needs to worry about. Worry about fall out boy, or plain white t's. The bands that headline warped these days, and distract from the good bands that hardly show.

Blink 182 sucks because they took something that's supposed to be a rejection of bougoise society in its' entirety (punk rock) and watered it down, marketed it, stole it, and sold it to the highest bidder. Major record label success was always blink 182's only goal, which, if you think about it IS NOT PUNK IN THE SLIGHTEST. Go and learn what punk's really supposed to be about, kid.

im a bif fan of the weasels and blink so this is what happen.the weasels were blinks 2nd biggest influence after descendents.tom grew up listening to the weasels.unlike the weasels blink overtime lost there punk sound and gained a pop sound so of course they would of gotten more mainstream and even then blink did better promoting there band then weasels.but blink influenced soem shitty music and weasels didnt but anyways both good bands.hate them,like them no denying they rock

screeching weasel was aimed at the rebellious young lads of the late 80s and early 90s. blink 182 was around to appeal to the kids during the dawn of the 2000's. i mean, yeah, they appealed to the same age group but during different time periods, therefore making them COMPLETELY different.

Blink was influenced by Weasel and NOFX etc. So you cant say Weasel copied Blink, its the other way round, Blink managed to market themselves better and be more successful with this brand of lowly untechnical pop punk. But Weasel are way better live than Blink could ever be, Blinks very poor live, sound-wise, Toms voice is so godamn bad, I like Blink, but they really are shit live.
