-Update To Last Post- Skyrim is BOSS and actually has a worthy story/stories. From the lore you find in books and certain questing. It makes you want more. It seems that Bethesda knows how to make good games.
I remember when I first beat Doel and this played. I didn't understand why he had such sad music for his death. When I was older and i beat Doel again, I knew a bit more about Doel, and realized why this song was playing. This isn't playing for the evil emperor Doel's death, but the uncle that Albert remembers. Go figure, you fately wound the guy while he's corrupt, but he ends up dying as the noble man he once was. At least thats what I think. I cried after I beat him that time :(
I never liked Doel much...so during his death scene I was just thinking "Yeah yeah...hurry up and die already so Haschel can get your stone, and we can go."
This game deserved better ratings, I have yet to find a game which had an storyline as good as this. Especially with the modern shit games coming out.
Why is it that games like Legend of dragoon, Legend of Legaia, and FF7-9 still pull emotion from me, but games of today make me cringe? It's because games don't go for emotion anymore, they don't try to tell a story and when they do, they fail at it, they go for more of a lastability (most of the time) taking a page from newer Japanese games and making side quest after side quest (Like in monster hunter)
@Shellgaja I know what you mean. It wasn't until I started a new game of LOD a few days ago that I realized how much modern games have been lacking. I think i'm going to go back and play all of my childhood games again and pick up classics that I missed.
..all that matters is eachother now. and how we treat others and the world. we cannot depend on people who made games like this any more. those so wealthy things like the legend of draoon dont even matter a scratch to them etc, they have become corrupt and will eventually fall like rome, one after the other.
but we can still remember what they showed us. what they created for only an instant in time.. but creation that was and is beyond wealth. the way they were before.
I find this to be ironic. The Doel that they were chasing to bring was not the Doel they defeated at the end. Then to make matters worse, the journey to save Endiness had barely begun.
I threw my controller in anger when Lavitz died.

Dart, Your Majesty,
I am sorry. Even though I was being manipulated. I was....
I could even... thanks to Zackwell. I could meet you again in death.
You are not dead! You will continue to live in us!
There is no time left. I will lead you to where the Sphere of the Magic Blocker is... with my last strength.
(Farewell, Dart.)
Lavitz. Thank you.

Seeing this as a kid was just a cutscene, but after I grew up a little and played the game again everything was so great.

@Shellgaja You need to play Lost Odyssey for the xbox 360. One of the few games that still tell a REAL story.
