Any characters that were in the original SSB should be kept (and returned as much to their original form as possible...Link got a little clunky in SSBB). I don't have problems with characters, so much as their final smashes. Sonic's alright as a character, but his cheap broken final smash should be altered to make it more fair to other players.
Donkey Kong and Link were in the first SSB game, and will never be taken out. Lucario may be taken out in the next game; pokemon are constantly being "replaced". Zelda/Sheik plays an important role in the Legend of Zelda games, so she deserves to be in the SSB series, while Snake being in Brawl is a good oppurtunity to have Nintendo and the other game company to bond their sales, or something like that.

@billybo10000 Lucario is just as good as mewtwo if not better due to his counter and extreme speed, and jigglypuff will wreck you, jigglypuff is the best for high damage output in short amount of time, people just don't know how to play it, jigglypuff has high mobility due to the jumps and rollout and can get anywhere faster than any other character plus you can wall them off the screen if you're more into shut out play than damage out put

Those who should go-Olimar, Falco and Wolf (they can come back if they get a new move-set), and Jigglypuff. Mewtwo should come back with a slighlty new move-set so he doesn't match Lucario so closeley. Give him moves like Psycho Cut and Energy Ball. Olimar has a shit move-set (he's only good at smashes and grapplles...) Jigglypuff is a Kirby clone with crappy-ass moves and Falco and Wolf's move-sets are just different versions of Fox's so that makes them clones as well.

Link is amazing fun has a wide variaty of moves and is just bloody fun.
Sure Lucario isnt as good as mewtwo but kids these days prefer him aswell as some adults.Mewtwo is too old for this game if you want him play the other game melee and on the note of pokemon sack Jigglypuff since shes pathetic so why not include jigglypuff in your list.I agree with snake since he does not fit in. Donkey kong is classic so shame.If you hate zelda than change her into Sheik then so there!!

@billybo10000 Lucario is just as good as mewtwo if not better due to his counter and extreme speed, and jigglypuff will wreck you, jigglypuff is the best for high damage output in short amount of time, people just don't know how to play it, jigglypuff has high mobility due to the jumps and rollout and can get anywhere faster than any other character plus you can wall them off the screen if you're more into shut out play than damage out put

and as for snake, an army man in smash bros is so far out it almost ruins the game, not only that but he ranks #2 in the tier list, at first i almost didnt buy smash bros just because of snake, i just never use him, except when i use him to run off the edge 100 times to give him the worst ranking in the game, but another character you really should have added is r.o.b. hes a robot for fuck sakes, id say the 3 characters who least deserved to be in the game are #1snake #2 rob and #3 lucario

Well, with 2 of them I agree, and thats lucario, and snake, not because I dont like pokemon or snake, but its just to random just putting one pokemon in it as there are loads of them, and snake -as you said- doesn't fit the game's atmosphere at all, it's just not a game about grenades rockets and egoshooting... but the REST? excluding link or DK would be an epic fail oO

Link got nerfed, but it doesn't mean he shouldn't be in the game. Zelda has replaced Shiek in usefulness, get over it. Lucario's difficult, but use him right and he kicks serious ass. DK got nerfed as well, but he's still a good all around character. and leave fucking picking on snake. if you don't like him, don't play against him!

Those who should go-Olimar, Falco and Wolf (they can come back if they get a new move-set), and Jigglypuff. Mewtwo should come back with a slighlty new move-set so he doesn't match Lucario so closeley. Give him moves like Psycho Cut and Energy Ball. Olimar has a shit move-set (he's only good at smashes and grapplles...) Jigglypuff is a Kirby clone with crappy-ass moves and Falco and Wolf's move-sets are just different versions of Fox's so that makes them clones as well.
