GMA 500 playing 720p HD videos and high quality youtube videos

umm, go to my videos and you'll see my netbook playing youtube HD  even @ 1080

make sure its 10.1 beta 3 because from my powerpoint like video experience it improved to watchable though at near 100% cpu usage

finally got the thing to make the yotuube 720 reso vids playable, its the flash software  install Flash Player 10.1 Beta 3 which is the first version i think and itll fix the youtube 720 viewing problem

@zoom26 hmm, i tried installing the same exact thing and it didn't improve youtube at all. however, i'm pretty sure i messed up.

@zoom26 HD content is mainly considered by its resolution and framerate. 1280x720 (720p) and higher (1080i, 1080p) is true HD. the GMA500 is perfectly capable of 720p, and with updates, is theoretically capable of 1080p.

hi , for what windows is the driver you installed and can you remember what date it is? coz i have the latest and the highest youtube reso i can play is 480 ,and thats not even smooth

@zoom26 Actually, I am running into the same problem. this computer actually crashed (100% sure it had nothing to do with the driver), and since then I can't play youtube videos smoothly, because I can't find the driver. it was kind of a lucky thing stumbling upon it on the internet. I can still play HD videos smoothly though. I think it has more to do with Adobe's Flash Player than anything else. they're in the process of making one that supports hardware acceleration.

to my knowledge, it's exactly the same except for the hard drive, ram, and operating system. normally i would say yes, but i think you may have a problem because you have windows XP. i don't think they made the updated driver for XP, so you may want to consider getting vista or windows 7. you can try though, it might work.

sorry for taking so long, i must have deleted this e-mail on accident. game wise, i've tried halo combat evolved, and i got it to run in 640X480, but still very slow. roller coaster tycoon 2 won't work because it doesn't recognize the graphics accelerator, but it has more than enough juice to handle it. plants vs zombies works great, i also got audiosurf on it, and it runs 100%, and, well that's pretty much it. i doubt you would get WOW to play well on this computer.

probably the hp mini 311. it has a faster processor than this one, and the new Nvidia ion graphics (WAAAYY better than this one).
