  • @ThelyCast y despues...In quelle trine morbide, SI MI AMOR, MI CAROLL GISSELLE <3 yo deseo poner la mi cabeza y no solo esto...mucho mas !!!

  • Simply Divine,,Unparalleled...

  • Callas is pure genius, no one sings this with such simplicity and innocence. Yes, innocence. Manon is at heart a beautiful soul.

  • Here is a perfect example of the incredible tenderness, legato and nuance that Callas was truly capable of achieving and to tremendous effect. In this performance she never over-sings or pushes and all you hear is just the voice floating on the breath, it is just spell binding, seamless and beautiful. I found myself drawn in to an aspect of the character of Manon that I didn't know existed. Brilliant. Brava!

  • If you had never stood up and sang in a stage, please don't criticize. You can be a fan, but please don't talk about things that only a singer can know.

  • la mejor sin dudas..................uffffffffffffffffffff

  • @vahisern

If you had said "In my opinion this is boring, shallow and colorless" I would not have said a word.

But I'm wondering how much you know about this opera and even if you actually like opera in general.

This is an exquisite, delicate, aria where Manon realizes she is giving up love for wealth and allows herself a small moment of nostalgia /regret.

Manon is a teenager. The shades must be subtle.

Callas' phrasing, legato and individual stresses are perfect.

    This is a masterpiece.

  • @TedinNY Bravo!!

  • @vahisern oh dear, do you think you should find a way to delete this?

  • @TedinNY Excellent comment... and very spot on.. too!

  • (Continued)

The only word that I would agree with is "shallow". You are right. But it isn't Callas that is shallow, it's MANON!!!

Callas (and Puccini) clearly shows us the shallowness of Manon's greedy nature.

  • just sublime ....

  • un'aria che è un gioiello...
