Hey dude, I just wanted to say that you have the most information of anyone on this website, I just looked at this video and realized that I was making a huge mistake with feeding the savannah monitor raw meat. I will be cooking the meat from now on, thanks alot!! I wanted to ask you a question, when you feed them eggs should I remove the yolk when I boil the eggs???

do you find him hand tame because youve handled him a lot or is it just a natural. ive heard great things about Sav's. i have bearded dragons, have for many years. these guys are just naturally tame. i can leave em be for months and they still fine to come out and play. any reptile needs a bit of work to tame...some just more than others. how much work is a sav?

nice, i usualy put fist size lump of ground turkey throw is some scrambled egg whites and a few hidden veggys ( shhh ) dust it with the vitamin powder and let the feast begin LOL

i feed mine eggs, crickets, pinkies (once a week) and i tried out feeder gold fish. he took them.. im trying out cat food and canned crickets and what not soon.. did you try the sav/tegu pellets?

Having them around is find but I would not house them together

@faitiana hard boiled eggs no yoke. Mice once a week take a hammer knock them out or they could fight and bite and injure the monitor. Just some tips to feeding.

cool monitor, i have a question for you real quick, do you think that a sav would do better if they had a friend :), i was wondring cuz mine seems a little bored lol, and i was wondering if you think its better for them to have some of there own kind around ya no, but let me know your oppinion on that, i know ive seen alot of people that have two and say that they get along better and all that, but let me know as soon as you can ok, thank you,

I would say yes and no some do well if they grow up together as babies but if there adults they tend to not like one another.

Continued from last post..., Right now I have a half log in cage, a little rock thing that crickets usually hide in, and his water dish. He has one 75 watt heat, basking lamp, and a night lamp. Lastly, how often and long should I let him out of his tank to just walk around, it's a little cold in my house, about 65-75 degrees. Does that sound good. please answer my questions, i really want your point of view since your so used to reptiles. Sorry it took so long. Please answer!!!

To free roam im against that but if you wanted to let him out for a few minutes a day is fine for about 30 min to a hour. They need basking and proper temps to digest there food.

zeus has got some good length for 2. some years. dont you just love how monitors eat? like you have this massve bowl of meat but they take one tiny peice at a time.. lol

I might be off a few months with his age will have to check the log book to see. Might be looking at 2 1/2 years old. He was feed pretty good when he was a baby if you look at hera on mikes channel shes gotten really big and her birthday was around xmas so makes her about 1 year a one month. Ya zeus always does that even with crickets and supper worms LOL.

yeah i just love my monitors i think they have alot of personality just like any dragon. but i forget there ages to, LOL i never know. i just say ohh hes about this and that years old.
