  • what is the intro soundtrack

  • can someone explain what the bands are for? why couldnt he lower the weight instead

  • I don't see how lifting up the bar is the hardest part of the movement. Its essentially the first half of a deadlift, an exercise where one should be able to use significantly more weight than on a barbell row.

  • mmm... this takes the free out of freeweight. and silly me, i thought the dl was the best back movement. but then, i don't workout shirtless.

  • @secutorclaudius Annnnddddd you don't have a monster back like him most likely. So you should take his free advice and do something with it to build some muscle

  • @superscorpionking90 ok, bro, u got me. if 248 lbs at 5'10" is not enough for u, i'll work out harder.

  • Jeff, Can you please give me a routine? Like what should i do monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday and friday.. Please!! i just started and i dont know what to do :(

  • Doesn't matter about lifting it off the ground yourself he's just taking less resistance off his lower back by using those bands he is still lifting as much when he's doing them it doesn't make the weight lighter if so correct me if im wrong but yeah no one wants a messed up back.

  • Good tips on keeping the form but why use bands? why not take a bit of weight off and lift it all yourself? cheers Kevo

  • I can't remember where/who I had seen it but that bent over row was on someone else's list of movements you should NOT do. Why does there seem to be so much "difference of opinion" as to what is good for the body and what is bad for the body?

  • i swear ur body is supposed to be inlined with your head and our not supposed to rock, unless its a 1 rep max then in that case form goes out the window, and if you cannot do an exercise and form is bad why can you not just adapt it, this seems foolish just drop the weigh if it is too heavy and your gd to go.

  • Why not just keep the bar on the holds instead of the ground so you don't have to bend all the way over to pick it up?

  • Why not just keep the bar on the holds instead of the ground so you don't have to bend all the way over to pick it up?

  • hiiiiiiiii it ws a good video..i hv been workng out for past 8 month..nd i m taking better diet bt still i m not getting much improvmnt..can u suggesst me a better suppliment for a goood body growth..nd wht kind of diet i shd take..plz guide me..i shall be thnkfull of uu..

  • back blitzing? i'm sure he's just making these words up by now

  • His neck is really long

  • Do you prefer overhand to underhand? Or do you switch off?

  • Do you prefer overhand to underhand? Or do you switch off

  • you cant even lift that hahaha

  • @jaredturkulaisgreat He did it you blind shit.

  • The best back exercise is the deadlift.

  • @AwakeAudio If you want no upper back whatsoever.

  • great idea!!!!!!!

  • terrible form, jerky, some videos of yours are insightful whilst others flawed

  • Hey Jeff i have a question about the speed that you do on the exercises, cus in a video you stated that each rep you do should take about 4 seconds to complete to get the best results, but for example in this video you don´t rly do that, im not sure if its because your just showing the exercises or if its just not neccessery on all the exercises, so basicly my question is do you have to sustain a 4 second time period on the reps on EACH exercise or is it limited to some exercises? Thx!

  • fuking rubber bands man ! who the fuck wants to use bands in the gym?

  • Hi Jeff,

How many back exercises should you do ideal when doing back at least 4-6 sets of 12-15 reps right?

  • this is a bad exercise,very dangerous

    just do inverted rows

  • @the4RESAU This is a fundamental exercise. With proper form this is not dangerous.

  • Or u could just rest the bar on a bench? what a waste of time, you've just over engineerd a problem that wasnt even there! lol Also, that wasnt the best lifting form in my opinion, u were jerking it up...

  • @101JonnyD Form looks pretty good to me.

  • hey jeff, im just 15 years old but... i have got 1 inch of belly fat.. and i have done everything..but i cant get rid of it, iv even did insanity.. nothing works, any suggestions???

  • hi Jeff, why not nitrous oxide?

  • Hey Jeff , i would really like to know do you have to do heavy weights or controlled weights to build a good lean back?

  • you should add a boxing/punching bag workout

  • Hello I have some money saved and I was wondering if I should buy resistance bands or dumbells. I want to have larger arms please respawn. Thanks Derek

  • Hi Jeff, I have a question, It is really necessary to take a glutamine suplement to growth muscle??, is there any brand you can suggest?, Do I take it before or after workout?...

  • @fsalasl Not completely necessary. It's a good safety net supplement to overcome depleted muscle glutamine stores. It's primarily a recovery supplement that works well if you're training hard and feel a bit run down from your workouts.

  • @JDCav24 how about bcaas?

  • @fsalasl Me personally, i do take L-Arginine. That also helps a lot with muscle repair, in simple you arent as sore. I have a bottle of 100 for about 12.50, take two a day for 1000 mgs, it works great

  • i also feel like the left side of my back is weaker also when im standing it feels like only the right side if my core is flexed and keeping my body straight up do you have any advice to even the weight out on my back also i would be very grateful

  • angling up towards my suratus. do you have any exercises that i can do that strictly work one side of my abs that will bulk them up and raise them up a bit to be even with my right side. Thye are just a little uneven and sometimes at the end of my workout they will be even but then the next morning they tuck back down on the left side for some reason. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing back from ya and keep up the good work yourself.

  • Hey jeff. Im 18 and i started shaping my body a few months ago and i am working for a 12 pack. Now i have the abs isolated and formed i just need to get them bigger. the problem im having is the abs on my right side which is my dominate side are significantly bigger and blockier than the abs on my left side. Ive found some exercises that focused just on the left side but they no longer work and im still stuck with the same problem of having blocks on my right side and angled abs on my left

  • looks like a little too much weight for you buddy! your form isin't very strict when you are half way to 3/4's up to the top

  • Speaking of not doinf exercises cuz you cant do them..Im tall and find it hard to get the form down for dead lifts.. so I never do them. And I know its hurting me. Frustrating.

  • alright thank you so much I finally got it your the best jeff

  • hi jeff please answer this I been wondering for a long time can a 15 year old boy use proteins(creatine )

  • @MrSkilzzy Hey Skilzzy.....in my opinion yes....as long as you're choosing high quality brands without any of the filler ingredients. Pure whey protein and pure creatine monohydrate (used no more than 5 grams a day) are ok for 15 year olds and older. Stay away from prohormone and Nitrous oxide products however at your age.

  • @MrSkilzzy no,give him normal food

  • whats the difference between using a barbell and dumbbells for the bent over row?

  • I bet jeff can out do chuck norris! thanks for the vid again jeff, im grabbing the system asap now that i have a job lol!

  • Jeff please make a Bicep Peak Workout, a Running workout for increased speed, quickness, agility, balance e.t.c. and a Jumping workout to increase your vertical jump. Please and thank you, if you make it me and a bunch of my friends would be happy to buy many products from Athlean.

  • @iownyouchoob Already have. There is bicep peak workout on my channel and a jump workout. Thanks for watching and for your support!

  • @JDCav24 yeah i saw the bicep peak thing but thats just one exercise i was hoping to have more then 1 so i could like change up my bicep peak workout once in a while and whats the jump workout called because i can't seem to find it. Thanks.

  • @JDCav24 Also a Basketball workout would be amazing and a workout for shoulder definition would be great. And another thing ive been hoping to get was those rounded biceps when your not even flexing, like your just standing there and ur biceps are all round round round as if ur flexing but ur not. I really wanna wear sleeveless shirts and look nice in them so im hoping for shoulder definition workout, the bcep workout and basketball workout for my basketball training. Thanks i will keep support

  • Good video Jeff, I'm going to try and employ this in my workout today. My sticking point is right there at 205 for my 3x8 reps. Thanks!

  • why not parallel to the floor (that's almost t-bar row height)? what about inverted row with elevated feet (harder to momentum cheat)?

  • hey jeff-

great videos. i have about 55 pounds of fat to lose. a friend just told me about a program called PURE PROTEIN from canada. do you know anything about it and thoughts? they claim it preserves muscle [which i have] while losing fat FAST! anything you may have heard will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

    bill

  • Jeff, start selling Athlean X t-shirts, I know me and a few mates who follow the plan would defonatly buy a couple each! Get back to me.

  • @Belli127 Belli.....they're already available at athleanxstyle website

  • hey man im 14 and ive been folowing your exercizes da my body is kind a handsome right now thx for everything :)))

  • Jeff i can see you haven't added Boxers to the list of athletes that use the AtleanX training system. I'm an amatuer boxer with a 30-1-1 record and have just recently purchased AthleanX. It's some good stuff!

  • whats the difference between palms up and palms down grip if there is any

  • @Schneebly06 The overhand grip, palms facing down would work more of the outer, upper part of the lats to create the width of the back, while the underhang grip, palms facing up would work more of the inner, middle to lower part to give the lats a thicker look and would also involve more biceps than the overhand version

  • hey jeff i have a question i was wondering i have almost a six pack but my bottom of my stomach is like a pouch i want to get rid of it and i dont know how any tips?

  • nice ass!!! ;) hey ladies!!!! ;)

  • i watch a lot of your videos, i think they're awesome.. but what i HATE.. is the music!!.. can you not change that up? its so annoyin lol but do you have any traps or forearm exercises? my forearms aren't too big, and i want them bigger soo, somethin different then just wrist curls?

  • thanx for all the free workouts man. Appreciate it greatly

  • Let's legalize pot nation wide so all these people that profanely rant about videos on youtube can get stoned and chill!!!

  • i notice your abs dont line up symetrically...i have the same thing, do you know what causes this? could it possibly be spine alignment? wallet in back pocket? just some things i thought of

  • @333JIMB0333 its just genetics.. everyone has different abs.. blame your parents lol

  • Hey Jeff Why not just use a smith machine??

  • I am a big fan of low rows with the smith machine; but what do you think about deadlifts, someone said that it was the "king" of back exercises

  • Hey Jeff I was just wondering have you done any core workout videos of late?

  • cant u just do a deadlift to get it up?

  • @nuttertools888 no because you will lose good position and you will be doing the exercise all wrong. First you have to get into BOR position without the weight. If you using a lot of weight this is hard to do but if you have the band helping you lift it up you dont have to sacrifice your form to lift up the bar.

  • Comment removed

  • @RedRaider8493 no i mean dead lift the bar for the First rep, then lower the bar into the correct BOR position and begin the exercise as Jeff is doing it . its helpful if u r lifting alot of weight and u dont have bands.

  • Hey Jeff, keep up the good innovative stuff coming.

Whilst bent over rows are good, my #1 back exersise is deadlifts. Rather than use bands why not use a deadlift/bent over row combo ie: deadlift to the top of the movement, lower the weight & set body in bent over row position, complete bent over row & bend knees to lower weight to floor & then repeat. This would be similar exersise combos you have demonstrated in the past.

  • I dont get it.. your using bands for assitance obviously because the weight is too heavy..So just remove the plates to a lower weight on the bar if it's too much??? Am i missing something here ?

  • @Reignunlimited Yes Reign...you're missing the major point. Sometimes people are limited by just ONE single part of an entire range of motion on an exercise. For the bent over row, often it's the start (having to overcome the inertia and get the bar moving). The bands assist you in JUST THIS PART of the motion since they become slack as you raise the bar higher. This allows you to keep the weight heavy at the top and not be limited by what you can use in your weak spot.

  • @JDCav24 ..OK so your looking for the end of range of motion as the benefit .. So you dont see the starting point (that initial burst of strength) needed to get the weight up as beneficial ? Isnt that where you built power and explosiveness ? Arent You cheating yourself ?

  • @Reignunlimited Are you as educated in building muscle and exercising as Jeff? I highly doubt it.

  • @iknowwhathappened1 .. What the fuck do you about me and what I know.. asshole .. You know my background .. moron.. This guy jeff is knowledgeable but he's not God.. For your info .. I happen to hold WNBF pro card .. meaning I'm a PROFESSIONAL ... Hold a masters degree in Kinesiology .. (IF you can pronounce it)... So If I wanted too .. I'm qualified..and I could set up my own little YOU TUBE channel .. and teach TOO .. FUCK HEAD... so crawl back under your bed .. prick..

  • @Reignunlimited Reign...no need to start putting others down man. If you're knowledgeable that's cool. Share it with others instead of bashing them. As for your answer of course the initial part of the rep is important, but it depends on what you're targeting at that moment. I'm DEFINITELY still lifting in the beginning of the rep...but in this exercise it's just been made slightly easier so that I don't have to limit the weight I can use for the other 90% of the rep.

  • @JDCav24 Make perect sense Jeff. Thanks for all the great information and videos! My wife and I just did the "Leg Circuit" that you have posted here. It was a great time. I modified it a bit for her since squatting on the BOSU was a little too advanced. That's what I really like is that you put us in the "ballpark" and we get to run the bases!

  • @JDCav24 .... Thanks for your response.. my initial relevant questions were directed at you.. ONLY.. Until I was rudely interrupted by that jack off .. who felt the need to tell me that I shouldn't ask you these questions because you know more than me and laughed at the fact I have a masters degree... LOL.. incredible..

  • @JDCav24 ... (Continued) ...I'm a subscriber for a reason.. I learn from everyone that has something to contribute..Back to your response.. I now understand why you use the bands.. Thanks for the vids .. and Good Luck with Athlean-X ...

  • @Reignunlimited masters in Kinesiology???hah...what a joke

  • @Linky360 .. It usually is if all you have is a GED ...

  • @Reignunlimited If you are really a professional, then that makes your comment even more unprofessional.. having a masters, you should have learned how to communicate at a more "professional" level, you're education should have covered effective communicating.. and this is not it. This was a very immature, un-educated comment... just saying.

  • @Reignunlimited It surprises me that you claim to be so highly educated when your punctuation is so poor. You also can't grasp the simple concept he's trying to get across to everyone as well. You sir are just mad.

  • you should make more of a mma workout program

  • you should make a fight club workout, athlean x style

  • is it correct to do it on a multipower?

  • i want to see you legs!! lol you always have sweats on. No homo!!

  • HI JEFF IVE NEVER SEEN YOU DO CALVE EXERCISE DO YOU HAVE ANY I WATCH ALL YOUR VIDEOS AS IM SUBSCRIBED TO UR WEBSITE IWOULD LOVE TO SEE A KILLER CALVE EXERCISE CHEERS

  • do you target legs at all?

  • @KingRockets Yep...check out the leg training videos on my channel. More to come as well!

  • Jeff i got a question..

do you think its possible for you to show a small warmup for the shoulder.. I keep spraining my when i push my arm workout too far... is there a proper way to do shoulder warmups?? Thanks

  • Great ProductX FantastiX Video Xcellent presentation Xtraordinary XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX! It's just so COOL you know it's X!

  • will you still get the same results with dumbbells or would you recommend sticking with the barbell?

  • Hey. Hey you. Yes you...Reading this comment. ...I'd Athlean your X. lol

..I still cant get used to the 879223 minute intro. lol

  • @jakelonghorn22 thanx for the info

  • Hey Jeff, I have a quick question.

Doesn't this put stress on your lower back? I am trying to get my lower back stronger and I have always looked at this exercise as something that would hurt my lower back in the long run.

  • @Wayofthefighter Not if you're stabilizing your lower back with your core and keeping a slight consistent arch in the low back as I'm demonstrating in the video. It will actually BUILD UP lower back strength if done properly and with a weight you can handle

  • @JDCav24 I also have the same fear, having a pretty vulnerable lower back. How does the Incline Bench Pull compare to this exercise? ( bodybuilding[.]com/exercises/detail/view/name/incline-bench-pull )

  • his voice sounds like a manlier version of david schwimmer, he kinda also looks like a super manly david schwimmer

  • can you do some more dumbbell videos?

cause not very many of us have those stands and bands at home.

  • Anyone see the link where to purchase the bands? went to the main site, can't seem to find it :/

  • @makaveli19860 Hey guys....I put it in the video. You can get the same bands I'm using at athleanelastx website

  • @makaveli19860 athleanelastx . com

  • barbell rows are the best back mass builders and combined with bands seems great must try

  • def. not the best back exercise

  • @JDCav24 Jeff, it would be great if you could sell the bands in various package. For example, 2 of each or 1 of each.

  • Hey Jeff, I've purchased Athlean X and your TNT programs also. I'm in my second week of the program and the programs are great, different to what I've done before. Keep up the great work.

  • Hey Jeff iv bin a great supporter of wat u do an I have seen results using ur tips an trick in my workout routine mostly cuz I'm a Athlete so I want 2 buy year program but I need the details like how much? Can I send u cash? Etc. If u can get back to me thanx. Stay buff ,u can use this phrase if u want

  • @MrM1SCHI3F You can get Athlean-X for $67. Even though the program is designed for 90 days but you can do multiple "cycle" or round.
