Billy Bob was as good as Jacob as he was as Karl Childers. Jacob was such a pathetic character and Thornton conveyed that as well as any actor could. Billy Bob's comment about Hitchcock liking this film is tremendous.

I really loved this movie. It had a Coen brothers feeling to it, sort of like "Fargo" or "Blood Simple". Billy Bob Thorton is really the only guy who could've pulled this part off well. That's no insult to him, he's great actor, I just mean he is great a playing off beat, quirky characters.

I've always liked Billy in the smaller, off-beat movies like "Sling Blade" and "A Simple Plan." He seems more comfortable playing quirky losers, because I think he knows most of us can relate to those characters on some level. That's why I'm really looking forward to seeing him in "Floyd Collins" where he plays a Kentucky man trapped in a cave. I think it will be as important a film as "Sling Blade."
