I got one that invited me to England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. But when i google the program many disturbing things came up. I would search it up and look at the links on the page if i were you.
Least to say even though it sounded great on the paper, i am not going. Sorry to be a party pooper..
@SuperAlistair10 Well, I hear that students who play sports can get them as well. This is my first yr getting an invite so I don't know very much about the program.
I just got an invitation to the European Heritage trip. Don't know if we can afford it, but I'll certainly try! I'll try my hardest to go, mark my word, and I WILL SUCCEED!!! XD
@Dayze305 No it's not just for "Rich people" you can fundraise and they also have scholarships and awards Etc. It's an experience of a lifetime ! You can't just let it go because of the price ! It's possible to raise ALL the funds :P
I heard that usually rich kids get to go to this prgram. My sister was mailed an invitation and my dad was REALLY VERY happy BUT once he saw the price he had to break it my sis that she couldn't go..
@Dayze305 ya it is kinda expensive but u can still normally raise the money my dad doesnt have a job and my mom only works part time but we have almost raised the money :)
I'm going to the Experience Australia (i think thats its name) one this summer in July:3 Is anyone else going to? I'm so excited I can't help but imagine how the plane ride and stuff will be like:D
I have been to England and france in 2007 and China in 2009. It is nice that you get to go but sometimes it is not worth it. I have got 20 credits from my 2 trips I have tried to use them at my high school the school district won't let me. so it's like I have did all that work for no reason !!!!
look people i am 22 years old and i am an alumni of 3 trips. yes the trips are expensive and i honestly do not know how my mother afforded it since i grew up lower middle class, but they were the best experiences of my life. i went to England, Ireland, wales, Australia, new zealand, and Hawaii. If i had a chance to go again i would. yes it is expensive but for those people that think this is a scam you are being naive, this is a great program and i highly recommend it.
@lblueovrosese can you find out how she did? Because honestly I dont think its fair that people who dont have money cant get to experience these wonderful opportunities..
I grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles but have always had a thirst for knowledge and travel.. its a fucking SHAME that only the rich little snobs get the chances to experience this kind of stuff..
Lucky you that you have a mom who hooked you up so good though regardless of your economic situation :)
The people saying this program isa scam are incorrect and need to do some research before saying that. I have gone on a trip and im going on another one this year.
OMG its not a scam!! You guys are immature! There are people on here saying they have actually went. If they are saying they went and it wasnt bad for them then that should tell you that its not a scam! You guys cant judge shit until you have gone to a meeting
first of all, research it before u say its a scam, and u dont hav to b smart to get in. and u dont randomly get picked. ur teachers nominate u. ome way i found out it was real: the national teacher thing with the apple. srrsly, u ghink the gov would pick a scam, id think so
I did this and went from france to malta! it was an AMAZINGG experience! and i learned a lot about the culture and everything!! i was actually excited to wake up everyday at 6am to go to another place :D
No one who claims it's a "scam" seems to have gone on a trip themselves. I went to Australia a few years back and I will tell you that a lot of the things are unique and cannot be achieved by a person outside of P2P. I recommend to anybody!
@brendan603 i was intived to go for an international wrestling team to compete but i couldn't go because it was to much money is there a way to go for cheaper, some sort of scholarship, and if so please respond and how much did it cost for you
its a scam for sure it is way overly expensive for what you get as a matter of fact i got a letter in the mail today about how i am not a "member" anymore im in college now my trip was 2 years ago I never knew there even was such a membership. I'll tell you what though if you were invited and you have 6-8 thousand dollars laying around and you are a good people person the friends you meet will be awesome not to mention if you want a gf or bf this organization is the best matchmaking service ever
its not an illegal scam but its just lies. the trips are real but scholarships mentioned aren't, no one is "chosen" or "invited". they send the letters to random students. my friend got it for exceptionaly "good" grades when he got straight Ds the last 2 years and got put an in alternative school for fighting. its just a travel agency for kids. i would keep away from them.but research to be sure
@TheAwsomefool Its true that they're chosen at random, but to attend IS by invitation only, because at the meeting you'll need to provide a PIN number that they've assigned to you- not unless your bringing along a friend. But other than that the program is not a scam, however, there IS a catch (as with everything) to travel with them is quite pricey, and their not paying. So in a way it's a little stupid, but if you think about it, things like this don't happen everyday.
People to People = glorified travel agency for kids. I was invited to go to Australia in the 9th grade, but the price tag was around $5000. Judging from the descriptions of a People to People trip that I've heard since, I'm certain that you could achieve the same cultural experience on your own terms for a far lower cost.
@FUGGNUTZ It isn't a scam. You just have to pay your own way to go on the trip and the trip is open to anybody. The only thing is it's very pricey! But they allow their student ambassadors to do a fundraiser to raise the money. You should do an exceptional amount of research before you throw away an opportunity like people to people
I want to go to austrailia so badly.. And this is no scam. My friend went to china and France through ppl to ppl. He said it was an amazing expirience. You should deff go when you get the chance.
If you have traveled with people to people, can you please tell me If it's worth traveling with them??? Some say it's a scam and others say it's an awesome experience but I don't know who to believe and I really want to go because i got invited to go to Australia
@309valerie I went a few years ago and it was AWSOME. We got to do a bunch of special things that normal tourists can't see or do. For instance, we visited a Welsh school and watched their school preformance of Aladdin and we got to meet a member of British parliment.
One thing though, don't go on ones that go through all of western europe. That's the one I went on and we only got to spend a few days in each country. You're going to Australia so you'd don't have to worry about that, but still
in 2008 i got invited to china for summer 2009 and i went to the informational meeting but unfortunatley i couldnt go cuz i t was to expensive. yesterday people to people sent me another one extending their offer to england, wales, ireland and scotland. im glad this oppertunity came again.
Yeah, its arbitrary who gets the forms. There have been many cases of neglected participants. My family of 4 went to Greece for about 2 weeks and was about the same price as this program. Attorney Generals of several states have even accused this program of scams. Please, don't be fooled
If you are a member of the program then it may be legit but if you got a letter out of the blue, one that you were not expecting and you had to go online to look up People to People because you had not heard of them until you got the letter....then it's probably a scam.
@1089jesus you just made ZERO sense! Nobody expects to get a letter they just come. Your teachers dont tell you they nominate you. You find out when you get the letter. You sound dumb
Last semester my Avid teacher told the whole class most of the forms are FAKE!!!!! and that they shouldn't be asking for money, and that they should first arrange a meeting with your parents. Most of this forms are FAKE and JUST WANT'S YOUR MONEY
I got a form in the mail a couple weeks ago inviting me to Italy, France, and Greece (Greece, which I have already been to), did some research. Scam-A-Rooni!
@Friedwhippedcream did you even go on their website?! you sound so fuckin stupid when there r ppl commenting this video saying they have ACTUALLY went!! BYEEEEEEEEEE
i got invited to japan...so i looked them up theyve sent mail to people whose kids died due to birth defects. And the chaparones dont care. A girl went and called for help but was denied and died
i got invited to go to france italy & greece i was hella excited i mean im 16 in tacoma wa i would like to get outta here but after doin research im not sure alot of it told its a scam & about tha death of tyler hill so idk anymore
I got England, France, and Italy. What I don't understand is why they're sending random Freshman to other countries where I didn't even sign up for anything. Where are they getting my name from? Also, I'm wondering why going to all of those countries lasts only the summer (3 months) That doesn't seem like enough.
I got invited to Italy, France, and Greece and yesterday I went to the information meeting. It costs 6,599 to go! Plus your parents have to pay or you will need to do fundraising to get the money. I was so excited , but that's ridiculous. I don't have that type of money and it's impossible to get that much money fundraising!
i just got a letter saying that im going to england, wales, and some other european countries......how much do they charge and how long is it?? It is fun and all?
@Runescapeddiction they invited me last year, and all i remember is that it was alot i think it was aroudn 4000 within short notice, i do want to do it, but they didnt giv eme enough time to get the money, my advise to u , since now u knw the program raise money for the next year. U CAN ALWAYS APPLY as long as u have the money.
I got an invitation in the mail to go to France, Italy, and Greece for summer 2011! I think it's awesome and I really would like to go, but I can't help being skeptical. I mean, they don't give info about the cost or why out of many I'm the one selected...also their site is a .com not a .org or .edu... hmmm.. and aren't most of the honorary chairmen not alive anymore? o___o
I'm going to England, France Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland 2011!! How did i even get into this program? They just sent me a letter saying i'm eligible for this program. Can anyone tell me how it happened. Thanks if you can.
I got invited to go to Australia n 2011 summer, I'm from Louisiana, Monroe is there anybody from around this area that got invited? & If u have been, was it great?
my invite said we are going to Australia in the summer of 2011. i just think its funny how they don't mention anything about costs on the invite or website. but i was looking at reviews and a lot of parents were disappointed :/
@bailzeyjodeets thats what i was saying , they have a reporting page for it too , saying that its a scam , and also how they lost this one lady daughter in the woods lols
@moneymaker49019, yeah cooool! I was thinking about signing up for THAT one so i could at least get more out of the whole trip by adding about $2,000 extra for 2 more countries but when I go to the meeting im gonna decide from there if im ACTUALLY gonna try to raise money. :)
i got invited to Australia summer of 2011. anyone going or is atleast thinking abut it should messege me. so ill have some friends to look forward to meeting up with : D
@bailzeyjodeets Ooo Wee ! Oriqinally im from south side of chicago ! But now i live in North chicao , illinois , a lil unknown suburb right by Waukegan ! qoinn towards wisconsin .. but downer
i've just gotten invited to go to england, ireland, wales, and scotland for the summer of 2011:) any fundraising tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.!
it's definitely worth it!..I went to England, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands this summer. My tuition was like $6,112..we didnt get first class plane tickets or 5 star hotels but the experience you have and the friends you make is PRICELESS!!!!!!!
Just got back from the Celtic cultures trip (all of uk and republic of Ireland) I had the time of my life and hope to go to australia next year! To anyone hesitating to go, trust me, it's a blast and well worth the money! You'll have a great time!
Hey everybody. My trip is in about 4 weeks. I am going to Australia. It was $7,289. I am very excited and it seems well worth it. My name is Chris Williams and I hope to see some of you Australia travelers this summer!!!
Hellooo! I was just accepted yesterday to go on the People ot People 'Experience Europe' trip this July! If anyone has any comments or is also going on that trip (it's to England, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands) let me know! I'd like to meet some people who are going before the meeting this Sunday! :D
@sailornaruto39 Food is included in your tuition (which can be pricey like $5,500-$6400) but the tuition includes Airfare bothways (from the major airports), 3 meals a day, Bus fees, Room+Board (usually very nice hotels), and the cost of anything you do while on your trip. Things you'd have to spend your own money on (not in tuition) are things like souvenirs and snacks
Yes you have to pay for the trip. most (like 3/4 of the offered programs) are $6,400 but the range is about $5,400-$8000 (but the trip is about 2 weeks or more)
Meetings mentioned in the letters are just informational meetings where you find out about the program (where your local group is going, how much it costs) although the tuition is steep keep in mind that it covers transportation( including airfare), hotels (usually VERY nice hotels), and 3 meals a day, and whatever fun stuff you do!
Yes, I've been on a People to People trip. My program was Land of the Rising Sun (Japan for two weeks) and it was LOTS of fun. They took us all over the place (Kyoto, Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Hiroshima...) and the questions are understandable since its an amazing opportunity. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer (if they aren't answered at your meeting) just PM me :D
i have a question. i heard about people to people from a friend of mine and wants to go but how do u start it. it sounds like you have to get a invitation 1st. but where do u get the invitation from? thx.
It starts by an invitation fo an informational meeting (what People to People is what the local delegation is doing, costs etc. From what I've seen you can get an invitation in mupltiple ways, the ways that I do know of are nominations by a P2P alumni, Teacher or by signing up for things like the SAT or ACT (Not 100% sure on the last one)
I got a letter that said I was invited this summer to go and study in China.sounds great but where are the meetings and also how much dose it coast?plz help
I got one that invited me to England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. But when i google the program many disturbing things came up. I would search it up and look at the links on the page if i were you.

wyneshia1 1 year ago
I got England, France, and Italy. What I don't understand is why they're sending random Freshman to other countries where I didn't even sign up for anything. Where are they getting my name from? Also, I'm wondering why going to all of those countries lasts only the summer (3 months) That doesn't seem like enough.
HidingFromTheGall0ws 1 year ago
@HidingFromTheGall0ws 3 months? for me its 3 weeks...and a teacher has to recommend you. thats how they get your name.
cakesterkinzz123 1 year ago
@cakesterkinzz123 are you sure it's only a teacher? i didn't know it could only be a teacher.

I got an invitation in the mail to go to France, Italy, and Greece for summer 2011! I think it's awesome and I really would like to go, but I can't help being skeptical. I mean, they don't give info about the cost or why out of many I'm the one selected...also their site is a .com not a .org or .edu... hmmm.. and aren't most of the honorary chairmen not alive anymore? o___o

@sailornaruto39 which country are u going?
terces246 1 year ago
@terces246 it was suppose to be euraope(germany london italy) my main concern is food and the cost(of the trip).
sailornaruto39 1 year ago
@sailornaruto39 Food is included in your tuition (which can be pricey like $5,500-$6400) but the tuition includes Airfare bothways (from the major airports), 3 meals a day, Bus fees, Room+Board (usually very nice hotels), and the cost of anything you do while on your trip. Things you'd have to spend your own money on (not in tuition) are things like souvenirs and snacks

terces246 1 year ago
@terces246 Have fun instead of the group leader being the leader the group is the leader!
gogodude4 1 year ago
Yes you have to pay for the trip. most (like 3/4 of the offered programs) are $6,400 but the range is about $5,400-$8000 (but the trip is about 2 weeks or more)
Meetings mentioned in the letters are just informational meetings where you find out about the program (where your local group is going, how much it costs) although the tuition is steep keep in mind that it covers transportation( including airfare), hotels (usually VERY nice hotels), and 3 meals a day, and whatever fun stuff you do!

Have you been on a People to People trip? Was it fun? Where'd you go?
Sorry for all the questions-I just got accepted and I'm really excited! :)
fastandflexiblesk8er 1 year ago
@fastandflexiblesk8er
If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer (if they aren't answered at your meeting) just PM me :D

i have a question. i heard about people to people from a friend of mine and wants to go but how do u start it. it sounds like you have to get a invitation 1st. but where do u get the invitation from? thx.
squeen1009 1 year ago
@squeen1009
