The fact of the matter is the redwings have been Stanley Cup contenders for like 19 some years. Even this year when they're only in the 8th spot other teams will still admit they're the team to beat.

Tickets are not almost free either. Look at Detroit's ticket prices. $38-$85 per seat, with the last 2 rows in the upper bowl available for $22. That's hardly free, especially in today's economy. It's amazing how when a great player is on your team, you cheer for him. But as soon as he leaves, or gets traded, all those people can say is "That player sucks." That's why he came to Detroit, Hockeytown, where real fans are. Marian Hossa is great and he already has HOF credentials. I watched the game against Atlanta last Friday, and whenever Hossa touched the puck, he was booed. Amazing, and he didn't leave, he was traded to Pittsburgh. He came to Detroit for a Cup, not money. Great player!!
