The pear-shaped target faces on the target butt (if they're the ones you're asking) are 2-D representatives of traditional Turkish targets called "puta". Originally a puta is a 110 X 77 cm pear-shaped, flat, leather pillow filled with cotton seed and saw dust. You might have heard the explanation about puta's invention (that supposed to be related to Christian icons) but it's n ot true. The word is etimologically related to "bute" in Persian, which is a big, terra-cotta pitcher.
The target is a home-made 3-D foam target. It should look like a fox but eveybody thinks that it's a cat. Well, I made it and appearently I have not been very successfull. Anyway, it works well as an archery target.
Ooops! What's that? A Crusade question? First of all, Muslims have great respect to Jesus as a Prophet and his holy mother Mary. The only difference in Islamlc belief is that the Trinity is not accepted and that God is not considered to be the "father" of Jesus, only the creator of Him. Noone would shoot at a holy figure in our club despite the secular character and nature of mine and my friends.
:). Yüksek hızlara ulşaması için tasarlanmış moıern uçbükümlü yaylar bile, enerji depolama kapasitesi ve hız olarak çift kamlı makalaralı yayların yaklaşık %30 gerisindedir.
@abdulkabza cevabınız için teşekkür ederim. Cevap veren birini bulmuşken sorayım mantığıyla; ben bu Türk yaylarından edinmek istiyorum, kulaktan dolma sadece sohbette geçmişti azarbeycanli biri yapıp satıyormuş ve yapımı iki sene sürüyormuş organik yay imiş. 700 tl dediler, en iyisi bu mudur? Osmanlıdaki Türk yayının kalitesiyle nekadar yakındır? Hangisi en iyisidir, ağaç vs... Teşekkür ederim.
Hi The Seeker! ıt's a 53#@28 Tirendaz bow. Greetings to you too neighbor!
SharkAttack. Really jealous when I read that you have access to the woods anytime. I live in Istanbul and this gigantic metropol with an incredible pace of life does not leave time too much time to spend outdoors. Viele Herzliche Gruesse aus Istanbul.
Thank you Sir! Your vid's make me feel good. I started to build my own bows at the age of 8. My best friend Murat and me we grew up in Germany. We were in the forests at any time and wanted to do it like our ancestors. Such a nice childhood out in the beautiful nature of South Germany. Thank you so much Sir!
Hello Laszlo! Turkish and Korean bows are especially hard to use accurately because of their short length. Korean bows have additionally a low brace height which makes it more difficult to master. However, I agree with you: Hunting with such a weapon is like dreams coming true. A romantic advanture...Hope to inform you about successful hunts. Kind regards. Murat
Thanks for the answer Murat. I appreciate your effort, hunting with a composite bow (even if it's made from synthetic materials)has to be very hard. Hunting with this type of weapon have been my dream since i held a hungarian bow in my hand at first, but i still have a long way (still shoot with compound and bought a laminated korean bow a few months ago). It would be good to hear about your hunts. Best, László
...We have been testing it for months (force-draw curve, chrono measurements and even a penetration test on a freshly killed wild boar) and I can say that it's an excellent bow.
Thanks a lot! The Turkish bow "tirendaz" is made by a friend in our group, Mehmet Golhan. It's the first ever Turkish bow replica made of synthetic materials in Turkey.
Hi Inagyhazi, I have been going after wild hogs for the last few years with no kill yet. However, I made the ghillie suit for predator hunt. Combining it with good scent control and a predator call I may succeed in taking jackal or fox. It's a completely unknown technique in Turkey. I'm waiting for the new season to come. Best, Murat
Thanks. Actually yes. It did pass the test. I made nearly all possible shots in awkward positions (look the kneeled and bent over positions) and there was no significant interruption of the string. Awaiting the new hunting season to come.

Do you plan to hunt with the turkish bow? If yes, what kind of game will you try to take with it? Nice shooting.

It looks a bit strange at first;)
but I'm sure it is functional.
