The idea is that private vehicles keep out of certain areas. There are illuminated signs with no entry on them. However people still try to get through. I'm amazed that they allow it.

Makes no sense for them to be silver. That's my point. Any kind of road warning, hazard, or anything of that nature is painted a bright color so it's noticeably. Silver is NOT noticeable. Note the small yellow lines at the tops of the bollards. Stupid.

if people not being able to see them was an issue we would be watching clips of cars driving into the bollards when they were fully up. I live in Manchester and have driven down that street and they're clear as anything, plus its only a tiny tiny side street so you can only drive at about 10 mph max, plus there is an illuminated 'no entry' when you get to the bollards (see start of clip! trust me, there is no need to paint the damn things yellow, waste of paint!

All I know is, "No Entry" in my country doesn't include the use of hidden bollards. They are typically used in parking areas between parking spaces and pedestrian walkways. This is to protect pedestrians. They're FIXED objects and still they paint them YELLOW most often so as to be seen. No one hits them as a result. These bollards have NOTHING to do with protecting all those pedestrians seen here because they are AFTER the crosswalk. How RETARDED! Yes, this is poorly executed on so many levels.
