  • awesome. Now somebody make one for the plague of iGadgets consuming the entire world...

  • lol allegretto

  • I intentionally purchase diamonds from companies that use African blood diamond mines just to piss off all of you dirty, smelly crybaby hippies.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=X_vNDl_qcME

  • i love blood diamond and of course i love leo. he's always soo cute.

  • that is what they are trying to do smarty pants.

  • Who cares about this because if you people really cared about Africans dying you would FEED them.

  • @IBMaccMartelli It's not our responsibility to feed them. Are you telling us that Africans are dysfunctional, inferior subhumans who can't survive without us giving them free shit? If Africans couldn't find food on their own, the human race wouldn't have survived long enough to spread from Africa tens of thousands of years ago. Europeans managed to build a thriving society two thousand years ago. Why can't the Africans? Maybe if we stop giving them aid, they'll finally take the initiative.

  • kinda missing the point here...

  • Palladio is LOVE <3333

  • We played that song in orchestra... It's Palladio... It's very fun to play, actually. If you're first or second violin. *shrugs* Yeah. lol. that's really the only reason why I watched this.

  • debeers: fueling rape, murder, genocide, and terrorism so you can buy diamonds at artificially inflated prices!

Oh well, it makes me more of a man to buy a big diamond for my fiancee. If a few people haven't died so that I can buy that rock in a priim and proper store, it just doesn't mean as much.

"When your girl gets off on torture: diamonds"

  • lively rhythm, wonderful screen lang.

  • i dont know how true this is but im sure it has some weight. i heard that the only diamonds that are certified to be anything but blood diamonds have laser imprinted polar bears on them and made by the distinctive company with that trademark.

  • I love the part where the "Blood Diamond" trailer is re-cut in the style of a De Beers commercial.

  • haha that was pretty good!

  • Put a stop to the diamond industry, great idea, further reduce the GDP of a country by ELIMINATING their most profitable industry, brilliant!

What a novel way to help out the impoverished, by removing their ONE way to earn a living.

Instead of this moronic idea, HOW ABOUT DEMANDING THAT THE CORRUPT, THIEVING GOVERNMENTS OF AFRICA INSTITURE FAIR LABOR LAWS???

    Morons.

  • Obviously you do not know,much... there was national revolution in 90 in angola, which was sponsored by ukraine and russia`s jobless military, who been trading with weapons for diamonds, as both sides did not have means to survive.. de beers as a company has parnership with countries on diamond labor. everyone is paid well. south africa as a country, with its poverty isuues is only gainig.. educate yourself first before attacking without means or knowledge.!

  • the diamonds are funding civl wars ethnic cleansing, genocide, murder and civil war, what difference doese it make to the people in this situation what the GDP is?

  • Uh, I agree with you, but who's talking about ending the diamond industry? That would just make it worse- further raise profits and increase the incentive to kill/torture while removing any remaining recourse of the victimes- just like with the drug war.

I agree trade is the best way to end violence and raise standards of living, but part of that is consumer boycots. Its a free market, I can refuse to prop up the prices of stones if I feel like it, and they can sell them if they do. Simple.

  • Cave -i- can, um.

    Caviar! Ka- via. Ah!

    Godiva, go d- VAR.!

    Karite, carat, carrot.

    EAU& AUX+ O'oh AWE Urr

  • they may employ slaves or even pay people to do their work, but think about it for a moment. does that make them good? if thats all that makes a company good, then so is raytheon. they only make weapons which are responsible for exploding people into chunks. alot of corporations are psychopathic in nature. look at the corporation on youtube. aside from that if this company is responsible for creating false scarcity they are just as deplorable as the petroleum companies.

  • fuck debeers i hope they go bankrupt. may they burn in hell. sick fucks

  • Don't beleive everything you see or read LOL Debeers Canada is a great company.Snap Lake and Victor Mines are truly a great acheavment for DeBeers.Thousands of people including natives have benifited bigtime from DeBeers coming into their territories. As for DeBeers going bankrupt???... when hell freezes over maybe.

  • I want my minute and fifteen seconds of my life back for seeing this shitty video. And whoever made this shitty video needs to start thinking about how wasting time in life making shitty videos makes God very very very very verrrrrrrry upset.

  • Just curious, how come you don't like this video? It's beautifully made, and the perfect irony for the petty desire for a diamond ring to represent love and commitment in a marriage and the fact that many of these diamonds cost someone/ many people their lives. People don't think about the origins of these rocks when they're out buying them, but to see it blatantly in your face in this video, well, it kinda makes you think about how ridiculous it is to ignore what's going on with blood diamonds

  • this video shows nothing but irony. how the debeers corp. bought diamonds off of smugglers who bought those from the Revolutionary United Front. Think about the real point of this thing. watch the movie. this video doesnt really make sence

  • De Beers has so many diamonds... I'll bet that if they released ALL the millions of diamonds theyre holding in vaults, the rest of the worlds diamonds would be worth pennies.

  • A very convincing re-cut. I don't know if it works as a De Beers commercial but it definitely works as a trailer. I would go see that movie.

  • You just don't get it. Read some of the comments. They might clue you in. :P

  • We played this song in my high school orchestra.I forgot what it was called, thanks!

  • Does anybody knows the music?

  • Karl Jenkins - Palladio.

  • Aside from their despicable acts in Africa, De Beers' advertising is twofold reprehensible in its purposes:

    1) Persuade men to believe that women are shallow and materialistic, and

    2) Persuade women to prove such men right.

  • Completely agree!

  • @elbriga83 People like you make me happy the world is going to end in 2012.

  • @NYerintransit May your comment be voted higher than that moron's comment.

  • @elbriga83 Oh, shut the fuck up, hippie.

  • De Beers did not make this movie. And you cannot fuck a hard company that sells hardstuff.

  • I think you might be in the dark about the "trailer", dear. Please do a little research into Cecil Rhodes and De Beers, and you shall be enligthened.

  • Do a little research about Africa. Dear.

  • This is your reply?! You can't be serious! It seems that you've put quite some thought into it.

  • it amazes me how people take movies so literally, i wonder if all of history is taught these days by hollywood movies, and if so god help us all.

  • This clip has very little to do with my statements, and hollywoodian dramatizations were not used as an introduction to modern African history, even though they may hold some truth. Please find out more about Cecil Rhodes, DeBeers, and the general modus operandi and train of thought during the massive European expansion into Africa in the 19th century. You should begin with the King Leopold II of Belgium and the rape of the Congo. Diamonds are only a part of the African tragedy.

  • Yes they are. The issues are very complex. Bravo to Hollywood (and America) for the thought tragedy.

  • Ah, this is pointless. I see we're getting nowhere.

  • Perhaps La Speilberg will make a movie about King Leopold. Then we'll have a glossy history lesson that people might watch...and we can all feel guilty together.

  • Both of you stfu dearies..

  • Fuck DeBeers.

  • great video..!!!

  • Niccceeee.

  • how ironic

  • This is really no joke. The deBeers family will rot in hell. Satan has a special place set aside for them.

    Brilliant. And well edited.

  • Amen !

  • What the heck...

  • Diamonds.... Ya. She'll pretty much "have to."

  • you people are idiots if you think this is an actual advertisement for de beers. its done by a public interest group showing how de beers finances civil wars throughout africa through the illicit diamond trade which enables warlords to purchase weapons and control the native populations.

  • civil wars are financed by warlords with anything they can get their hands on - literally, don't make assumptions about the bad guys...

  • Nicely done.

  • You realize this is a joke, don't you?

  • Idiot alert.

  • uhhhhh

im almost positive it is a parady.

unless you're tryiing to be funny ???

    hahahahah....

  • I give you a hint: Consider, this might NOT be a real commercial, but satiric*. And for that really good made.

(I#m not sure if this is a proper english word)

  • It would be a satire, or a satirical commercial.

  • i thought it was selling beer.

  • It's not a bit opposite DeBeers who presents "Blood Diamond"?

  • Haha..Awesome!

  • i rather a semi precious stone then murder any day...

  • AWEEEESOOOOMEE!! Every woman reading this should insist her lover give her a single flower every Saturday morning and boycott diamonds.... and save us guys some money... hahahahahaha....

  • a single flower every saturday. in exchange for a rim job every sunday.

  • erm, do you know what a rim job is!?!!

  • Must be one hell of a flower!

  • i dont like diamonds anymore

  • Very nice...makes you want to go to the Congo and get that romance happening.

  • lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • it was crap

  • Could someone please tell me what is the name of this song? And I really thought it was a real De Beers commercial

  • Allegretto from "Palladio" by Karl Jenkins

  • Wicked!

  • A masterpiece

  • haha that's great.

  • Well done

  • Very nicely done! I applaud you.

  • nice work!!

  • Wow, did you cut this together? Nicely done!

  • VERY good job!

I bet many a chick would LOVE to see that movie... ;-)

  • Scarborough 4-1-6 STAND UP!!!

  • what's the name of that song. I've been serching for it for years now. =S

  • 'Palladio' by Karl JENKINS :)

  • ^^^Truer words were never spoken! Diamonds are nothing but an invention by this cartel. What sucks is telling any women the history behind it. They just think you're a cheap bastard, lol.

  • American Whores will always want their materialistic dreams

  • is that really a debeers commercial?

  • lol

  • it really appears as though De Beers is trying to cover their asses on this one
