I'm definitely no animator, but what might help is imagining the feet like they're touching a very hot surface. They'll want to come back up right away. Just a quick suggestion for a four-year-old video. (I think you've improved over four years, eh? ;) )
Because i know that 3ds is very exspensive, and ive tried to download the trial but it too nearly two days to install that but then it killed my computer. although it was only a 2GB laptop so i guess that wasnt really smart. and no i have never heard of that software, how advanced/basic is it? and thank you for replying :)
@BinkiMaus1 Yes. 3ds Max was named 3D Studio Max when it was first released. It's a good 3D content creation and animation package but it, and Maya, are more than a bit expensive. Have you tried Blender (it's free)?
The back leg looks like it was broken and healed without setting the bone. Watch the youtube 'running paint' vid. Thanks for putting this up, i can tell you put a lot of work into it.
You should tottally like make a movie, i believe with your superb skills are woonderfull and i couldnt tell the differnce between this and a real horse!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, there are a few things off about this. My best recommendation is to go out and check out some horses when they're being lunged or racing. Study the movement. ^^
The right hind legs looks stiff. Check the arcs the foot travels...and clean up the curves....it seems to be snapping then sticking....not flowing like the front legs. The front torso neck areas are also snapping and sticking.....your curves are probably doing a straight line rather than slowing in and out.... But over all nice job, one of the best looking ive seen on youtube so far.
no, the head's ok. horses usually run with their heads down...arabians usually run with their heads held high. some others can too. i think that they just need to smoothen out the stride, and make the horse stretch out more.
Thanks. :-) The camera's locked to the horse's movement, but for some reason the bg doesn't pan unless the camera turns. It's not the best bg to use anyway, but this is just a test, so it not that important really. :-)
Thanks for the critique. :-) I think I see what you mean; is it the speed that the feet are going when they're in contact with the ground compared to when they're in the air?
I think the movement of the legs are off..

It's really smooth, which is great; but the feet aren't being picked up high enough.

I feel like its hooves are too big...It makes the movement look more clumsy.

It seemed like he had more of a zebra tail from my point of view, but anyway, very good!

from my view, the horse looks lame, like it limping as it runs. i think its head should be held higher to, just a suggestion :)

@AlphaBee6 I think that background is quite a neat trick for test renders.

nice, but doesnt really look like the horse is moving in the backgrownd.

It looks like the horse is running through sticky mud, or his feet are real heavy ....... But dont worry, it is really good
Bambi2lover 3 years ago
Thanks for that. Is it because the feet are slower on the ground that makes it look like it's laboured?
AlphaBee6 3 years ago
way awesome gr8 job but the rate the horse is running the florr should be moving faster :P im always around horses
