  • I wish the olympics came back because we all came together to cheer on our athletes like a family (if you no what i mean) it was just a really happy time for everyone :)

  • @97elitedancegirl As a volunteer working around BC Place I do know to a certain extent what you mean not only the volunteers but the public as well. It was so spiecial just the spirit of the people kind of like Christmas where almost everyone was in a great mood even the volunteers at the end of thier shift were happy to help out public or voluteers and this goes for public to. I wouldlike to say thanks to those in the Olympic areas. not just for putting up with people but for thierr help too

  • Funny how it's always a snowy winter in Canada, but the one time that we NEEDED the snow, it didn't really come... :P

I've only spent 24 hours in Vancouver before an Alaskan cruise and I fell in love with that city. The fact that they recently held one of my favorite events on Earth only makes me want to go back and explore more of the city.

  • I live downtown Vancouver, we did our best to make everyone feel welcome. ( from what i've read, we did a fairly good job of it ) please visit us, we like our town, and try to make people feel welcome.

  • vancouver hosted a great olympic game. 5 stars to this vedio^_^

  • I MISS THE OLYMPIC GAMES SO SO MUCH i hope it comes back to canada one day

  • I know what you mean! My boyfriend and I got a little depressed because for over 2 weeks we were cheering on the athletes and crying with them sometimes. It was pretty emotional. I haven't been into the Paralympics previously but plan on being equally excited because the Vancouver2010 Olympics were so great.

  • i loved the warmness canada showed to the states ^.^ i got chills watching the openeing and closing to the winter olympics because cheers =]

  • why you guys are from countries like norway , finland , sweden , switzerland , canada , USA , germany , poland , denmark or other and i'm from this piece of shit called "argentina" ¬¬ , LUCKYS

  • I totally love Canada.

  • @kristinehale Thank you! I'm 100% Canadian and yes our country is amazing!

  • The Olympics were great, a resident at my old job from QC was watching the hockey game Sunday and didn't know who to cheer for (I'm in the States) But it was great. Of course the closing ceremony was kinda odd

  • Way to go Canada :)

  • Watching from the UK, I to thoroughly enjoyed these Winter Olympics. Despite the tragic death of the Georgian, I think the authorities did a great job, even though the weather at times did not help.

  • @trackside77 It's annoying to hear endless complaints from international media (not all are unfounded). It just seemed some media outlet were intent on being negative despite the positive reception from athletes and audience. Given the challenges, the organizers responded appropriately. I think we may look back at Vancouver2010 as being one of the best winter Olympics. Can't wait to see the Games in London, UK. From a gal from London, Canada, thanks for the positive remarks!

  • some media are saying that vancouver2010 has been the best winter games so far because of people's reaction and it also was the olympic games canada has ever had ( canadian athletes ) with 14 gold medals the most won by a host country

  • Yes, I've read a lot positive reviews. Most of the negative reviews seemed to come from American, Russian and British media. I think these critics were jealous and taken back that Canada (a country that doesn't always to well in international competition - except hockey) did so well and hosted with enthusiasm. Russia and England are hosting the next 2 Olympics so I think the critics were hating because they were feeling competitive pressure to top Canada and previous Olympics. *Just my opinion.

  • Thank you Canada for making this olympics so great, can't say it enough, I fell in love with your country :D

  • @ManvsMachine7 Thanks for the love! It felt like Canda hugged the world when we hosted so I'm sending whoever you are an electronic hug from Canada!

  • I fell more in love with my own country too :)

    Where are you from?

  • Norway :)

  • @ManvsMachine7 Thanks! I said thanks because I'm Canadian and yes our country is amazing!

  • Love you Sarah!

  • thank you Canada (Vancouver) for amazing sports experiences

  • Will they have a party after Olympic games?????

  • yes

  • ummm the whole 2 weeks has been a party....didn't you go downtown? i went there 4 times during the games bbiiiigggg party

  • She is a wonder!! There is a "Wonderland" song on YouTube at Hollywoodswan90. SWEET!!!

  • Personally, I think that unless you have any kind of musical talent you shouldn't critize those that do.

  • Personally, I think you shouldn't critize any musical talents, regardless of wether you are one yourself...

  • This song makes the "I Believe" CTV song sound like a cat being sodomized.

  • i don't think thats true, surfacing was a good album but she hasn't had a new studio album since afterglow, there may not have been an Angel or Adia on there, but the album functioned much differently. This song is not great no but it serves its purpose as a support song for Vancouver 2010.

  • well considering that you only seem to have negative replies to your other posts or people thinking you are being sarcastic...I guess you are simply complementing her...I didn't know she was writing songs that amazing, but now I should check them out...thx for the recommendation.

  • Hats off to Sarah - a gorgeous song sung by a beautiful voice who hails from Canada.

  • holy donut hoser fuck!! youtube has gone into debate mode, AGAIN. Any comments on the video itself? No? NO?? NO?!?

  • This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by International Olympic Committee.

  • @fgall: Damm that is weak sauce! Well, at least I hope they use some of their perceived profits from people watching the olympic videos and pay the family of that Georgian athlete that died because of the IOC failure to ensure the track and its surroundings were safe. Cheers!

  • I agree, people in need should have access to healthcare, but they should also be entitled to some decent housing. And, by the way, Canada is the only G8 country that does not have a national housing policy.

  • i am so proud to be canadian

  • I notice that a lot of video material was censured by the US media so in some countries is impossibile to watch ceremony, competitions, etc etc...were these olympic games? are they supposed to be broadcasted around the world or we should wait till next Christmas? Awful, everything is just about MONEY.

  • blame the international olympic comittee theey violated the freedom of speech in usa constution they are trying to get rid of any videoes that relate to olympics or has olympics footage so that they are only ones that can promote the olympics wich is a alot smaller and harder to promotre the olympics if you dont let other youtube usrs that are not part or part of the commiteepost videos of the olympics but nbc violated the treaty for the internation olympic commitee

  • Comment removed

  • wonderfull!!!

  • group by taking olympic videoes off youtube that relate to vancouver opening cermoney is against the usa state constution now grow up . it against constution by freeedom of expression

  • the nbc violated the copyright law and internation olympic commitee treaty GO NBC GO VIOLATE LAWS AND RULES AND GET AWAY WITH IT. IT ALL ABOUT DAM MONEY

  • I love this song! Sarah McLachlan is so talented.

  • Think BIG ApocalypsePlough, it's the Olympics, the only thing that should matter is that firstly, she sounds beautiful, and she is Canadian.

  • "Vancouver's well-known Sarah McLachlan" ??!!

Boy, that's a stretch. Sarah McLachlan may live in Vancouver now, but she was born & grew up in Nova Scotia. She has a very distinctive Nova Scotian accent.

Is Goldie Hawn a Vancouver-ite too, because she lives there part of the year? How about the ladies from The L Word? They shoot the show in Vancouver, so they must be Vancouver-ites, too. Joe Biden & his wife were in Vancouver for the opening ceremony, making them Vancouver-ites as well.

    Geez.

  • @PerennialLucidity What wonderful hateful words!

Not. That was pretty close-minded words to put in public display.

  • they're not on public display anymore because you free speech-hating police state-loving fascists have downvoted it into oblivion. i'd love for my ignorance to be on display but you guys censored me.

shows how stupid you all are; now nobody else can ridicule me accurately because my post is invisible. way to collectively fail, fourth reich.

  • fuck you!

  • @BrittanyHargestFan4

ouch! didja think of that one all by yourself? i'd better be careful, lest i expose myself to more of your razor-sharp wit!

  • oh holland making taxes work. After taxes being taken off of our paychecks and then again off of consumer products our total tax amount is around 47 %. Now a new tax is coming in called the hst wich will raise our taxes up to around 49 to 52 %. Here in vancouver we have one of the highest child poverty rates and the highest hiv positive rate in north america. Keep voting conservative feel safe and pay for nothing. Good Game vancouver =)

  • @PauleQueenie Please refresh me on what HAARP is. Is it something to do with sound?

  • In Holland, as in most of Europe, we pay a LOT of taxes. Not just income tax but also 19% VAT and a HUGE markup on petrol... but we do not complain that much because in doing so we fund an excellent healthcare system available to everyone, affordable education and really a society where the gap between the rich and the poor is not too wide. That's worth something, well to us Europeans anyway.

  • Holland sucks. Sorry, but the world should be reminded of the crimes your country was responsible for and still is.

  • The retarded thing is. Im from Vancouver, and the buddy who died right before the ceremony, tripped me out. Im for the entire world winning all everything gold. What people need right now is reasurence that some people are kewl and normal. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol regardless this song was randamly clicked by my own stupid drunk ass self click lol =-D ..... i like the song 7/10

  • The most beautiful voice.

    Life expectancy in Canada is 11th in the World; the US #38; Japan #1; Swaziland is #223 the lowest in the world at age 32;

Infant Mortality in Canada is #23; US #33, Lowest is Iceland at #1 & highest is Angola #224. The rate of PREVENTABLE DEATHS, France has the lowest rate, Canada #4 & US #14

World Health Organization general rating sets France #1; Canada #30, the US #37; & Myanmar is #190. These stats are more telling than one-off rants.

  • idiot. numbers are weak.

  • HEALTHCARE!! US in '07 paid 46% public; canada 68%; we both have "blended systems". But the point is the US spends more PER CAPITA from both sources. No country anywhere else in the world spends more per capita than the USA: TWICE as much as Canada per capita. My family has nothing but accolades for the care we've received in regard to various family ailments and chronic conditions over the generations. For shame using one-off examples that mean nothing to anybody.

  • WOW!!! WAYNE GRETZKY LIT THE TORCH!!!! Can't wait to go see where he was exactly standing when he lit it. Wow Vancover really is a beautiful place. I'm egyptian and am proud to be Canadian 100%

  • I wonder if you saw Gretzyky's comment today on NBC where all he cares about is that the US and Canadian hockey teams reach the gold medal game for the, get this, good of the NHL. I was horrified and then glad to know that no matter how hard they try, they can never keep their mouths shut, and the Olympics to them are about one thing only: profit.

  • Hope Canada does well in the olympics! GO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!

  • So proud to be a Canadian.

  • GO CANADA GO.. the olympic opening ceremony was gorgeous.. welcome to vancouver everyone.. i hope u all will enjoy the city as much as we vancouverites do..

  • GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As an American I of course will be rooting for the United States. However, b/c of family heritage and relations, I hope the Canadians, British, and Irish do well.

And Canada, I do envy your healthcare. I hope America becomes as progressive as you guys one day.

  • @MassLiberal1 Olympics aside, are you crazy? Our health care system is garbage. I broke my nose and waited 18 hours to have it set. I would have rather paid $100, not missed a days work and gone home at 4am in the morning. DO NOT LOOK TO US AS A MODEL OF A FUNCTIONAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. Our system is so broken, our politicians have to get treatment in the States because our wait times are so outrageous.

  • That's a problem but it can be fixed. Here in the Carolinas I'll say we already have wait times with our system based on your economic status. Many can't afford visits to the hospital and doctor, so I know they wouldn't mind waiting if they paid little to nothing for it. Believe me, $100 is not what we pay. It's much more, plus we still miss work. America has better healthcare but a weaker system.

  • everytime I've had a serious problem the cadn health care has acted very quickly, efficiently, professionally,in a courteous way. anytime I've gone to emerg for a cyst or something like that when I could've gone to a walkin clinic just about anywhere, I've had long wait times. I know more about the cdn healthcare than any 10 thousand people you can pick on the street. both as a hospital architect of 25 years and as a double organ transplant recipeint who's fought a serious illness for 40 years.

  • @MassLiberal1 I agree - that's a problem and it can be fixed. The solution to that is to let the free market make health care more affordable and efficient as opposed to letting bureaucrats in the government screw it up (as they ALWAYS do). That's why I say, don't envy Canada for it's health care system. Look at us as an example of what NOT to do. BTW, we still pay for health care in the form of about 40% taxes.
