I beat both ME1 and ME2 with soldier and vanguard. Soldier was nice, especially in mass effect 2 and vanguard was even better. I want to try a new class so I can have an all paragon game for me3. I am leaning towards Adept or Sentinel. LOVE Biotics, and a good submachine gun will do the trick for me. I was nevver a tech expert so I might want to try Sentinel, but Adept just looks like pure fun. Not really interested in Infiltrator or Engineer, but any tip or advice will be helpful.
Having the soldier class to bring over to mass effect 3 will be a waste of time cz mass effect 3 gives you the option of having any gun. but the heavier the weapon the slower your powers will regenerate so it's best if you do get a tech or biotic class
@PMexyK123 I would go sentinel. Charge is fun to use, but close range (shotgun) combat in Mass Effect 2 can get annoying. I did sentinel last playthrough and it never got old, especially as assault armor. Plus, it looks totally badass if you have a good computer/are on a console.
@PMexyK123 I forgot to mention, sentinel gives you the most options. You can level up your abilities to focus on tech OR weapons, and you get biotics either way with throw.

I beat the game on insanity first time with adept and while it was fun, having to always remove barriers/armor/shields before being able to use biotics got very tedious very fast. Thinking back I think I actually enjoyed Adept more then Vanguard too. Engineer is actually really fun, actually I think Ill place engineer over sentinel. Infiltrator is great, the invisibility is really helpful on insanity

Sentinel offers you just so many tactical variaties and survivability - long story short: you'll just enjoy the game way more
@IbanezGio122 Not once you've chosen your class at the beginning of the game, no.
However, the powers and abilities that you can upgrade during the level-up progress, even if they're exclusive to your own class, can really help with giving a different styled playthrough, so starting again as a new class might still not be the best option.

I wish I could customize a class. I prefer snipers and any other weapon (rifle, machine gun, etc...), along with the heavy weapon, of course. And with that, I'd like to make it more like a sentinal. I'm no fan of just pistols and submachine guns.
sentinel n vanguard funnest imo.. sentinel's equipped fr every kinda defense n also is the only class to avail the max cooldown bonuses n has an insane defense.. vanguard is well.. u know.. charge!!!! Vanguard takes the least amount of time to clear out levels, yes. Charge at the guy that spawned last n that prevents any more baddies to spawn.. also makes u feel more of a "man" than any other class..
Soldier is quick at clearing levels too but only if u keep spamming adrenaline rush.. bore
Vanguard and Adept are the best classes. But i prefer Vanguard becouse it's "faster" in cleaning levels out of enemies. But it's "high risk, high reward" so you need to be patient and don't rage everytime you die. ( Mostly you die by doing stupid things like rushing in a group of enemies with shields )

@UKCowboy74 Good news! In ME3 it looks like you'll be able to carry any type of gun on any class. They mentioned it in an interview.
The idea is that, say, Soldiers can carry 4 guns. Some classes 3, the "caster" types (adepts, sentinels) will only be able to carry 2. At least, that's the latest news on it.
I must be the odd guy out i guess...I always preferred Infiltrator. I will play adept from time to time....but my main save is always an infiltrator. I find I can get thru a fight faster and easier with an infiltrator and his sniper rifles/invis.
Sentinals are ok, but adepts can be one of the most powerful and versatile classes, combine the with warp ammo bonus and an adept can easily lay waste, adepts are all about playing smart rather than bruting it out
@DarkMysticX9 I agree. I played a Soldier the first time, which gets old pretty quick. Then, I played a Sentinel, but they're isn't anything particularly special about Tech Armor. On my third playthrough, I chose a Vanguard because they have the awesome biotic powers along with a good selection of guns. So I'd have to go with the Vanguard as my favorite.

Infiltrator with the Widow in ME2 is a one-shot machine. Maybe two shots or one shot and a couple teammate techs on hardcore / insanity. "Assuming Control" is like putting a bulls-eye on a collector's head.
The ammo limit is the down side tho. I curse out loud on the rare occasion that I miss.

I like what they did to the skills in ME2. Biotic was too OP back in ME1. But I think they nerfed it too much. I suggest they should seperate tech skill cooldown with biotic. And gives the class that only have 1 type of skills shorter CD to balance.
as engineer i used tali ans legion while fighting the reaper at the end, we all summoned our combat drones, so 3 drone, 3 shooters, there were 6 on the squad, sooooo epic!
@kuudart the soldier is THE ONLY class that offers the assult rifle, but all the other classes, they can use sub machine guns, and at one point in the game (not too much into the game) you can get this sub machine gun that fires just like the assault rifle and just as good. and i personly think the soldier is boring, trust me, ive beaten the game on a soldier, its boring, anyways, if you want to snipe, the inflitraitor is best for that.

Not sure if you're on about the North American (26th) or Europe (29th) release date though... I'm from the UK (Wales), so Europe for me, which was a Friday. @YaBoyYoungKraZ Started playing it about 1am on the Friday morning (I'd spent the Thursday evening after school finishing off my latest ME1 playthrough), kept playing it until about 6:30pm, when I had to start getting "dressed up" for my prom...
In short, if a similar situation ever comes up again with a Bioware game, I'm not gonna go to the prom/birthday/wedding/funeral, even if it's my own!
I played Insanity with all the classes and I have to say Engineer was the easiest because of that drone luring enemy fire and upgrading it all the way so it explodes. :) Don't do the Soldier for Insanity, I played the ENTIRE game as a soldier on insanity and it was really tough. So try out the engineer I thought it would suck but its actually alot of fun when adjust to using their powers often.
@Pederzen100 not true, on insanity youll have a hard tie playing as a vanguard. the best class to beat insanity with is the soldier cause the soldier on insanity is the same as on veteran where as all the other classes espescially vanguard and adept are so much more fun on veteran simply cause on insanity having everyone with barrier/shield/armor really takes the fun away from the power oriented classes. where as the soldier is the same experience just with more shots per ennemy on insanity.
I'm on my 5th playthrough and doing Insanity with a Soldier lvl 30. It is soooo much fun!!! No weapon or ability can do as much damage as the Cain! Too bad it takes forever to regain power :-(
I like vanguard and adept, but I always play soldier for the RPG feel at the first playthrough

The ammo limit is the down side tho. I curse out loud on the rare occasion that I miss.

I like what they did to the skills in ME2. Biotic was too OP back in ME1. But I think they nerfed it too much. I suggest they should seperate tech skill cooldown with biotic. And gives the class that only have 1 type of skills shorter CD to balance.

Soldier: If you like shooters, go with this class.
Vanguard: If you like close combat and don't mind dying.
Sentinel: If you want to be able to kill anything or everything, or you're undecided what your play style is.
Adept: If you like to play mages.

as engineer i used tali ans legion while fighting the reaper at the end, we all summoned our combat drones, so 3 drone, 3 shooters, there were 6 on the squad, sooooo epic!

@kuudart the soldier is THE ONLY class that offers the assult rifle, but all the other classes, they can use sub machine guns, and at one point in the game (not too much into the game) you can get this sub machine gun that fires just like the assault rifle and just as good. and i personly think the soldier is boring, trust me, ive beaten the game on a soldier, its boring, anyways, if you want to snipe, the inflitraitor is best for that.

@YaBoyYoungKraZ It came out on my "end-of-high-school" prom... I didn't even want to go to it (I was effectively bullied into it by my dad and friends)... Not sure if you're on about the North American (26th) or Europe (29th) release date though... I'm from the UK (Wales), so Europe for me, which was a Friday. Because it was my prom, we had the school day off, and my pre-order meant I actually received it on the Thursday.

@YaBoyYoungKraZ Started playing it about 1am on the Friday morning (I'd spent the Thursday evening after school finishing off my latest ME1 playthrough), kept playing it until about 6:30pm, when I had to start getting "dressed up" for my prom...
In short, if a similar situation ever comes up again with a Bioware game, I'm not gonna go to the prom/birthday/wedding/funeral, even if it's my own!

I played Insanity with all the classes and I have to say Engineer was the easiest because of that drone luring enemy fire and upgrading it all the way so it explodes. :) Don't do the Soldier for Insanity, I played the ENTIRE game as a soldier on insanity and it was really tough. So try out the engineer I thought it would suck but its actually alot of fun when adjust to using their powers often.

@Pederzen100 not true, on insanity youll have a hard tie playing as a vanguard. the best class to beat insanity with is the soldier cause the soldier on insanity is the same as on veteran where as all the other classes espescially vanguard and adept are so much more fun on veteran simply cause on insanity having everyone with barrier/shield/armor really takes the fun away from the power oriented classes. where as the soldier is the same experience just with more shots per ennemy on insanity.

I'm on my 5th playthrough and doing Insanity with a Soldier lvl 30. It is soooo much fun!!! No weapon or ability can do as much damage as the Cain! Too bad it takes forever to regain power :-(
