  • @jiwonast222 you do realize that this video is from the 2007 worlds and that dick's comment is perfectly fitting, to some even now. if you are not familiar with the skating scene beyond yu-na kim, or from beyond the past year please watch some more videos and widen your perspective.

  • This one mistake in SP deprived her of World title. What a pity. I hope she will win next year

  • she improved her sit spin and step sequence since 2007

  • magical

  • wow is just amazing, without words.

  • This was the performance that made me fall in love with Mao. Doesn't matter that she popped that one jump, it was just beautiful, the music, everything!

  • I dunno what was wrong with her this season, but this is the type of music that she skates well to... I wish she has skated to this song at the Olympics!!!

  • @triciamatsuda

I agree, it was a tough 2009-10 season for Mao, but she really did come from behind at the Olympics to get silver, and of course, to win Worlds a month later. As for the music, agreed, she skates better to gentle pieces, but she really connected to the music and audience at Worlds, despite the music being very different for her.

  • @triciamatsuda true! she's a strong skater and skating to such strong music this season was just too much to bear. her giving strength to soft music is magical! she should get lori nichols back to choreograph for her. nichols know how to showcase mao's strengths in a program.

  • @pammuskit

yeah, no kidding!!! I don't know why she picked Tarasova as her coach. I think this SP was one of my fave from Mao. I didn't like the fact she chose to skate to Masquerade for her SP this season, it's like, that was her LP from last yr, so repetitive, it's not like that song is the best song ever! I hope Mao comes back strong next season, I miss the Mao//Yu-Na Kim rivalry!!!

  • @triciamatsuda you could see the improvement on the entry edge on her lutz after working with tarasova but that was kind of a waste of time since they just decided to leave the jump out entirely. but tarasova's choreography has an upside that it has proven not everyone and mao that she is able to skate to music with such an intensity, and now that she has, hopefully she will never have to again :P

I agree with you. I just wish Mao the best next season, it was upsetting to see her with her chin down on the podium in the Olympics. Of course she would have loved to get the gold, but it's like, HELLO!!! it's an Olympic medal!!! There are thousands of skaters who would kill to be on that podium!!!! Silver is not bad at all, and you can't define a skater by the color of the medals they get or their scores.

It really pisses me off when Yu-na Kim fans just talk trash about Mao Asada. She's just as good as Yu-Na Kim, it's just that sometimes you can't do your best! I'm totally in love with Yu-Na Kim, but I also love Mao!! They just have different techniques and style. I'm sansei (3rd generation Japanese) and I respect Japanese skaters. They are tough in Japan!! And yes, EVERYONE "cheats" on their jumps, they are all humans!!!!! lol

  • wonderful!
