  • @HTHAMMACK1

Being rich, famous and "successful" has nothing to do with doing what's right.

As for his great zoo, their 37 year old elephant died this year. That's some record considering elephants live up to 60-70 years in the wild.

And yes, being the ignorant geezer he is, Jack does forget more about animals and their plight in zoos than most animal researchers do.

  • I agree with jack.

  • WHYY DONT YOU FUKKKKKKK K NNNNEUCATE PEOPLE WITHOUT TORTURING ANIMALS...PSYCHOLOGICALLY, PHYSICALLY, AND RAPE THEIR SPIRRETLESS SOULS...SOORRRY JACKKK YR A THOUGHTLESS MOFO PRETENDING TO BE OTHERWISE...THE SAD THING IS THAT YOU'VE ALMOST CONVINCED YRSELF OF THIS THAT YOU CARE FOR ANY ONE OF THOSE ANIMALS.

  • That reporter is a bitc* to Jack. Jack is NOT going bananas, he is simply keeping what is right, and defending it. I love how she tells him to be quiet, and he keeps going haha!

  • that woman was being rude to the guest (jack)

  • Mr shiroma ur an ASSHOLE!!!!!!!

  • Both sides of the debate has good points.... they need to stop fighting and start finding solutions!

  • Yes they should be where God intended them to be in the wild.... then WE need to get the fuck out!!!!!! We are the problem here.... Look at Pandas.... the breeding center in Chengdu, holds over half the population of pandas... without them pandas would be extinct already. They are a breeding center, but they do charge guests tickets... and ever $200 to hold one... and this is because they need the money and funds to try and HELP save this species.

  • I have to agree with Adam on this. We are keeping these animals in captivity for our own enjoyment. Annually an animal loses it and kills someone, whether it be a trainer or not. They should be where God intends them to be...in the wild.

  • @HardRokMiner Actually, 'God' intends them to be killed and sacrificed for his glory.

  • Read Hanna's book "Monkeys on the interstate",where Jack talks about someone getting a body part or two bitten off by a lion and chimp he had.Watch the Letterman clips where he shows his carelessness and ignorance w/wild animals like monkeys who are obviously terrified on stage.Hanna also has promoted Ringling Bros.,where animals are torture trained.

  • If you're interested in conservation, the best thing you can do is GO VEGETARIAN. Did you know that most of the crops including corn and soy, are being fed to farm animals? Forests are being cut down continuously, so that we can grow grain to feed cows. We're eating the animals but they're killing us. Heart attacks, cancer.

  • @chadpopstar New trees are planted all the time, so who cares? And you know very well that eating meat doesn't always lead to cancer, nor is it the only cause.

  • Jack Hanna has made a career exploiting animals. He defends animals in cages, zoos, aquatic parks etc. because he makes money off of exploiting them. He is not an animal expert. He has political connections at Sea World which is why he defends Sea World.! Jack Hanna has only has Jack Hanna's interest in mind, and at the cost of animals welfare. Jack Hanna an animal advocate - ridiculous

  • adam roberts and that chick are stupid idiots, their area of expertise isnt in ecology. they put these animals in captivity until its safe for them in the wild, as for the "poor living conditions" you think jack doesnt realise theres many institutes around the world with substandard conditions for the animals? nothing is going to be perfect. but hes helping a whole lot more than that stupid git adam roberts.

  • Jack Hanna needs to be caged.

  • Jack Hanna is bought and paid for..he is nothing but a whore for the dollar and it's at the animals expense...he is such a fraud ...he is about as empathetic as a rock to the needs of animals..he's a zoo brain

  • Jack Hanna is the man

  • Well I say zoos are good. Open your eyes om animals are endangered in the wild so the kee them in zoos tll they mate and make more. The animal tricks part is to show that animals are not boring nd that we shouldnt care it shoews us that they are better then us. YOU HAV YOU PINION AND I HAV MINE!!! By the way I DONT CARE IF YOU THUMBS DOWN OR UP SO U JUST CRY AND LET ANIMALS EXTINCT

  • Jack Hanna's Television show is sponsored by Sea World. That's why he will never speak out against keeping dolphins, including orcas, in captivity. He's not a zoologist...He is a zoostitute!!!

  • Jack Hanna does not care about animals. He just cares about lining his pockets with money and lots of it. Now I just read Sea World has hired him to be their apologist,er,spokesperson. Lets put Jack in a cage and make him do stupid pet tricks for some laughs.

  • Please somebody just do the right thing and shoot Jack Hanna!!! A true enemy to the animals!!!

  • So what your saying is: send all zoo and circus animals back to the wild, and rely on the money of privately motivated donors to fund conservation efforts... soooo are the same people that would have visited the zoo donate their $13 admission fee to conservation without seeing any kind of "product"? That's not how America works, that's not how the world works and that's just not going to work. Good luck with your argument truth2748... your the asshole. How much money have you donated?

  • Animals are not product, they are not here for our entertainment. I have not only donated money but hundreds of volunteer hours for wild life rescue centers. Which is were these animals belong. People that attend circuses and zoos, are just clueless of the animal cruelty that takes place there. By the way, I personally know Hanna, And he's indeed an asshole. You on the other hand just insulted me out of spite.

  • Hanna is a asshole and this video proves it.

  • Agreed. Big time asshole!

  • YES. YES.YES. He's an animal pimp!

  • @truth2748

He should be renamed Jackass Hanna.

Jack Hanna an animal advocate - ridiculous.

  • Thank you truth2748. I agree. In the case with the Tilikum Killer Whale:

You know that Tilikum is kept and still used more for monetary gain for Sea World, for breeding and producing more Killer Whales. Doing shows isn't its main purpose. Production is the key aspect. Money makes the world go 'round, sad enough.

Sea World's CEO just doesn't want to admit it. Hanna has too much pride in his work and needs to swallow it when it comes to issues like human death.

  • @truth2748 thumb up for you comment!

  • I do hate going to zoos because it makes me feel sad that they can' be free. But I know that without zoos some animals would go extinct because of the poaching that occurs in their natural habitats. Zoos may not be the best thing but they do serve a good purpose, saving endangered animals.

  • How on earth does that woman have a job? The most pathetic presenter I have ever seen.

  • if it werent for People like Jack Hanna Millions of animals that are now thriving in our wild life would be extinct or non existent. Jack Hanna is a great Man and a True Wild life warrior Period!

  • @redrider187x THUMBS UP MAN WELL DONE

  • what i like is how people give me shit for keep snakes in cage...yet its alright to have massive, intelligent animals crammed in cages and gawked at by idiots.

  • everybody go watch jack on dave letterman they are hilarious together

  • Jack Hannah may not come across as the most eloquent of people, but he is passionate about saving and helping the animals. And he is very accurate in saying it is people who are wiping these animals off the earth, and unfortunately zoos may be the only place "wildlife" exists, if this is the way we continue. We need to connect and love these animals if we are to make a change. I also believe in putting animals back into the wild, but we need the zoos and the money and the education they bring

  • @TuringC

Ever heard of documentary films or animal planet to enrich your knowledge about wildlife? Zoos were started in America in the early 1700s with the purpose of making money and exist in this time and age for the very same reason.

Jack Hanna is the poster boy of corporations defending their greed. Be wise enough to get sucked into his rubbish.

  • @veggiewarriors Oh God, shut the f*ck up you insufferable little twat. Jack has invested his life into protecting and preserving habitats and wildlife. The amount of money and good zoos have done for wildlife is immeasurable.

Then we have worthless little idiots like you who talk about what should be done, but never get off your sorry ass to do anything about it.

  • @HTHAMMACK1

Sure...but on the other hand, we also have worthless idiots like you who have no critical points about the video so spend their time responding to "insufferable little twats" like me.

You're a bigger loser. And I hope u get caged to know what it feels like.

Jack has invested his life into pimping animals from developing countries to languish in cages for their entire life.

  • well honestly jack is an amazing man, but not as educated a sothers, not saying hes dumb though. but there will always be controversy and those who can handle opposition will flourish

  • LOL! Too funny! Jack Hanna is such a pathetic mouthpiece for the zoo industry. His tortured arguments to justify these antiquated zoo exhibits are sad. He's the one who advocated giving Maggie at the Alaska Zoo, an oversized treadmill to solve all her problems after she began collapsing. Being the smart African elephant that she is, she consistently refused to use the thing. Thank God she finally got to a sanctuary.

  • Free the Planet.

  • I'm a big animal lover, even becoming a vegetarian because animal rights but if people were not allowed to see animals up close, I do not believe that many would have the same respect. If it was just the non-profit organizations, because we do not have that direct relationship with the animals, then the general public would not be overly concerned about fixing the problems. We should shut down the non-credited zoos from all parts of the world and all zoos should have mandatory education programs

  • Jack's not crazy. He's just got a poor TV presence.

  • As you can see most of the comments on this page are positive towards the animal being in zoos although I do not support zoos that do not have educational programs I still think that it is good for humans to see animals in zoos. I have had the oppertunity to see many fantastic animals in captivity that I would never have the chance to see in the wild because of rarity and political situation.

  • 99.9 % of all zoos are doing a wonderfull and needed job! I wonder if Adam is just a another big money machine? If zoos dont have "live" animals kids will just be stuck in the electronic world instead of being exposed to the living world around them that we are all a part of. Out of sight, out of mind! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JACK! True "educated" animal lovers are on your side Jack!

  • @ToucanJungle

Way to put "educated" in quotes.

  • yes you go over where the animals are they get you thats it .

  • Adam is right dont mess with nature, there is no better education than seeing animals in the wild,u dont see david attenbre filming in zoos.you dont have to go to zoos anyway, just go outside there is plenty of wildlife,u just have to open ur FUCKING eyes...

  • jacks right we need zoos for education and conservation

  • go jungle jack!

  • It's a good point that animals in zoos often seem akward, pacing, uncomfortable and strange, it is not a true education on their natures. You cannot put a dollar amount on conservation vs the fact that zoos in a sense promote human subjugation of the animal kingdom. For me watching a film about an animal in the wild is by far more inspirational, not that i don't want to see them up close.

  • Jack Hanna is a humane, caring steward of wildlife. I believe his motivation is honorable.

He didn't "go bananas", by the way.

  • yeah and he makes a great point that there is education in zoos. its not like the animals are abused

  • It is very insulting and unprofessional to say that Jack Hannah went bananas. I didn't see that at all. What I saw was a man defending his believes and his love for animals. It is very true that animals are better in their own habitat, but our greed is what causes all of this. I hate circuses. They are not educational and are very cruel.I support Jack Hannah, and what he and his team have done and keep on doing to teach us about wild animals and to conserve them the most natural way possible.

  • This is so idiotic. Look we all love animals and love seeing them in zoos, thats a given. However there is also a part of us that wish they could be free, unfortunately we stupid humans are killing their habitat, making it very very hard to reinstate them back in the wild. But I REALLY HATE CIRCUS'. They extort, torture and use the animals as digusting wind up toys. Zoos give them countless space and let the animals do what they please - and they get food for free.

  • Do you like dogs? Cats?

At one point, they were wild animals that had to be caged and were eventually domesticated.

We don't choose to domesticate wild animals into more subtle and placid species through selective breeding, but we still need to learn about these animals from observing them. Interaction with these animals will happen regardless, even if we didn't do it on purpose.

It's all beneficial and for the greater good in the long term.

  • "but we still need to learn about these animals from observing them."

Far more valuable information about wild animals would be learned through naturalistic observation.

  • No. That's debatable. To observe an animal IN the wild is a totally different data collection method than observing them in captivity. Observing while in captivity provides us with a more in-depth and intimate look into their social patterns as well as behavioral patterns.

It's better to observe them when they know they're in a captive environment and aren't distracted by humans being around, as they would be in the wild. It would throw off the entire process.

  • "I know what you said, I hear it in my ear" - I dont know why but thats hilarious to me.

  • Where did he go banana's??? Hey I wanted to see him snap! Anyway, I'm torn, I HATE seeing caged wild animals, but I love to go to zoos to see the live animals. Actually I only go to Disney's Animal Kingdom and even though they're in the closest thing to their natural habitat, they're still being hand fed etc. which is not natural.

  • Jack would never go bananas he is much to nice.

  • @Thamnophissirtalis

He is nice to greedy corporations that fatten his pocket.

  • @Thamnophissirtalis maybe not bananas but he is a little nuts hah

  • At least I know that somebody agrees with me.

    Thank you.

  • @lingeringNfallen : the most ignorant people say that animal rights groups are terrorists. Or people who make a living hurting and killing animals (like those who work in labs), to get sypathy and ONEY from the idiots who believe in them. Jack hanna do not care about animals. He himself is a hunter, so I do not give a s. on what he says. Just another ignorant.

  • Natural habitats are being depleted more and more, so some type of protection is necessary to preserve wildlife. The conditions of those places must be improved, but they'll play a more vital role as the natural habitats of animals vanish and animals require ways of being protected.

  • if you watched the clip, you'd know jack supports zoos and the other guy doesn't.
