actually that siren is made in Brasil, it is almost the same as Premier Hazard, the wail and yelp are almost the same, and the Hyelp looks like from Code3 sirens.
I wouldn't want this POS in any ambulance I'm driving. And what's with people thinking certain types of electronic sirens are for certain types of vehicles?!
That's a rather interesting configuration. Tones sound rather European, and that programming is rather offbeat (I couldn't understand how the manual wail works). But what baffles me is that low/high power indicator. What is it for?
It does have sort of European accent, I have to agree. Can't get a hold of manual yet, but it seems that HI/LOW indicators go along with the pitch of the siren tone. Take Wail for instance, it begins with low tone and once almost reaches top peak the indicator flips to HI, same with other half of the cycle, when tone is halfway towards low peak the indicator flips again to LOW, and over it goes.
As I watch it, you might be right, but there's a distinct lag time while it's being used. I can't help but to point out that it doesn't flicker in Yelp and, obviously, Hyper. Then again, it could just be a little toy to watch, or maybe the manufacturer just wants people to argue over what it's for :p
@canadaleds Its based out of Brazil is what the spokesman for Rontan told me at IACP the convention staff had to tell the display people to tone down some of the products because it was too bright. I think this sounds way better then that powercall crap.
id get in so much trouble with these lol

Nice siren indeed. Love that air horn! It sounds like a Code 3 V-Con with a European accent.

Pretty neat. The high end of the wail sounds like Code 3, otherwise these siren tones sound distinctly different to my ear.

Ah, this siren was used on most British Ambulances from around 1999-2003, if memory serves me correctly.
And if you ever played Need For Speed 4 you'll recognise the Yelp as being the UK track police siren.

That was "Premier Hazard"
But this Rontan sounds 90% similar to Premier hazard

Maybe they want people to know that a wail is hi-lo as well.
