I think the Bodyguard could have been so more substantial and passionate...and this scene just proved it! I think the editing really affects the flow of the movie because when you watch the movie you don't really get why they fall in love. They should have kept it as passion/infatuation becuz as a love story it's not convincing.

THE SCENE DIDN'T 'FINISH', THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT MORE AFTER THE ENDING, MAINLY A SPEAKING PART WITH HER LETTING HIM KNOW, WHY SHE WAS BEHAVING IN SUCH AN AGGRESSIVE MANOR TOWARDS HIM AND OTHERS. I SO WISH THEY'D REDISTRIBUTE THE DIRECTORS CUT VERSION ONCE AGAIN.

There was a lot more cut out. Before this movie came out by chance I was at the Fallbrook Mall in West Hills, CA and walking past the movie theater. I was approached and asked to pre-screen a movie and fill out a questionnaire at the end. This was the only movie I ever saw this way. After Costner undresses her she stands up and turns her back and she's completely nude. The light from the bathroom behind her shines between legs and shows her entire junk. I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

@lilManDwight, Maybe that's why Costner wanted 'that' and other more "graphic" scenes (heavy kissing included) cut, mainly because he says it didn't fit or feel right with what the movie was really about. Also, the scene above has been cut as well, as it does go a little bit further here too, with more speaking parts to it.

Rachel's face at 00:41 is CREEPY! You can tell she's really shook up by what happened at the club. I also noticed that she was moving her lips saying something but I dont know what. She may have been in a state of "Shock" but I've defintiley seen that look on people's faces before when something tramuatic happens!

She looks like sex is the 'last' thing on her mind at the moment, and I bet you he sensed that and didn't want to go there. Good for him. Don't know about the 'audience' reaction back then, but even I could tell sitting in the theatre that she wasn't go there at that moment.

Now I will admit that Rachel was a LITTLE turned on by him undressing her (Hence why she asked him out on a date the next day) But for the most part she was not in the mood for any sexual activity and neither was Frank.They could barely look at each other and you could tell they were embarrased. Also I dont see what's so sexual about this. It was maybe sexual because of her outfit but from the looks on their faces NEITHER of them were in the mood for sex. He was trying to help her. You know it's bad when her eyes are moving back and forth scanning the room and she was talking to herself. No I think they should have left it in the movie! It was awkward but plenty of successful movies have awkward moments in them. Like raterroyale said this scene shows how shook up she was about the whole club incident. Alot of people think it's a joke to be passed around in a audience like she was but when they're trying to rip your clothes and hair apart and trying to hurt you. that's whne it gets serious. So I would have deleted some other things and kept this in there.

I think they should've kept this in the movie. It shows how shook up she really was about the whole incident at the club, and shows a bit more or the caring side of Frank's character, and that he understands he needs to do more than just keep Rachel from getting killed.

@raterroyale, I agree with you because when it was presented in the movie, it added credibility to the scene (editing it out makes absolutely NO sense). According to Costner about 15-20 minutes or maybe a little bit over were deleted drom the film (I so wish someone had the scenes). Thanks for posting. Maybe the 'Director's Cut' has the missing scenes??

Yes this explains everything. In the original version they just show him putting her to sleep with the dolls and I was wondering if he undressed her, or maybe she undressed with him in the room in with her! I probably would've took out some of the other scenes and added this one to it!
