  • Talk about complicated. There are MANY much easier less complicated ways of getting this job done that take much less time. Talk to a DirecTV Tech.

  • they forgot to mention the last step:

Locate the original Directv dish installer, after he's done asking if you 'would like fries with that', tell him to come back and remove the ugly dish because you now have a fiber optic connection to your home.

  • Google TV.... Pfft DTV has YouTube!

  • Nice hair Asian women lushfmlk.info

  • @famouswolfy Google TV? really.. shit I want that.. damn its too bad I can't do that cause I am stuck with DTV! damn it, and the stupid dumb ass tech guy pisses me off.

  • For a DIY install i will need: swm lnb, swm splitter, and power inserter. Is this correct? Will i no longer need my zinwell ka/ku 6x8 multi-switch?

  • Fine tuning is a cinch (very important). However were up to DECA now. Get ready to watch your HDDVR in another room. :)

  • 1 SWM line come into your home...the video did not show how to hook up to 8 recievers.

  • DTV blows Dish Network out of the water. More options and not that stone age gui that dish network has been using since the early 90's ..

  • I only do dish network, But my retailer is talking about installing directv..(sux)..

After watching this video I think I will shoot myself in the head. 2 power inserters? OMG!...I'll stick with Dish Network.

  • dish sucks

my sister has them and we have directv, we get way more stations then she does and for less money.

oh well, to each his own

  • SWM only uses one power pass. If you're used to running two dedicated lines to a HD-DVR, then you'll love SWM. SWM only uses one line for two tuners. I would rather do SWM any day.

  • mythril4 's method is correct, just worked for me

  • When using an Accutrac Pro meter connected to an ASL1, why is only one "input" port used on the Accutrac Pro? The ASL1 has two "LNB output" ports, the first outport for 101 satellite, and the second outport for the 119 satellite. The Accutrac Pro has two "LNB input ports". Is there a reason or did someone forget to bring enough cables when this video was made? End

  • installs shouldnt be that hard thats fucking dumb.they need to advance there technology as dish net does.thank u echostar for the 922

  • You can also thank them for there crappy compression codec too. Nice hd quality lol

  • forget the asl just use the regular lnb and do your regular dethering that way you'll save more time. It worked out for me when I used to work for this company. lols...

  • This guy is stuck in a book.

The easy way to allign a SWM:

-Grab the equivalent KA/KU LNB to the SWM you are using.

-Slid in to dish with one wire attached.

-Put the LNB bolts in and make sure the LNB is slid all the way in.

    - Point and dither the dish.

    - Swap LNB back to the SWM LNB.

    - Finish the install.

    - 100+ SWM's I have installed that way and 101 110 119 99 103 always over 92%

End comment: KA band not as touchy as they make you belive it is.

  • i was able to split the swm switch more than once hope it last. I cascaded the swm splitters three times on one power insert er. Does anyone know the limit to how many times i can do this. no one at my shop knows

  • 2468?

    primative

  • Using the maxpeak sam i don't believe you have to move the jumper around like this.
