  • Two things make this scene in my opinion. First, we see Lee Marvin throughout the Movie practicing his draw. We see how fast he and then he gets killed before he can even touch his guns. The first time I saw it I thought someone else had shot him. Then we see Randolph Scott just beat him to the draw. Scott was preternaturally fast. Second. Scott is out for revenge Marvin for the money. Scott gets his revenge, but the final showdown is for the money.

  • whats the name of the lee marvin movie were he plays a army guy sent on a secret mission who gets caut on the way back and put on trial for spying .because the guy who sent him was dead .

  • Whoooo.....Randolph Scott draws faster than lucky luke. Poor Lee Marvin...he didn't even know what hit em.

  • I like the exchange right before this. Marvin boasts "I just killed so and so." Scott: "Why?" Marvin: "Why not?" It's just so utterly cool and sinister. For what it's worth I think Lee Marvin basically invented the western tweener in this film, as in that morally ambiguous character that rides the fence most of the way but has to make the moral decision in the end. Obviously we see which way Marvin went.

  • thought mr scott was bisexual,,didnt he and cary grant have a love affair,,which was hushed up by holywood exectives in the 50's,,not that ime bothered,,

  • @friginnutz - No he didn't. And, I'm going to give you the opportunity of apologising to Mr Scott and Mr Grant...

  • +He was so fast that he had to have the newspaper boy toss today's paper to him tomorrow to catch it yesterday.

  • Seven Men From Now is a great Western and my favorite of the Randolph Scott/Bud Boetticher collaborations.

This final gunfight is excellent. I love the shock in Lee Marvin's eyes as he discovers that he is not nearly as quick on the draw as he thought he was.

Question: Did Randolph Scott draw first?

  • Of all actors Lee could get shot.

  • Get rid of the M and the R, get rid of the two E's and replace them with an I and an L, and Lee Marvin's name is an anagram for "villain!"!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, his name would be Lil Avin XD XD XD.

  • definately the best dyer in the westerns, check out liberty valance

  • Clip from '7 Men from Now'.

  • two great actors sadly missed

  • Seven Men From Now is ONE OF THE GREAT ONES!

    Eddie Lancaster.

  • SEVEN MEN FROM NOW IS ONE OF THE GREATEST WESTERN EVER MADE...The showdown final is a sequence UNFORGETTABLE,SUPERB AND ANTHOLOGICAL...

There was never a villain like LEE MARVIN!

    Eddie Lancaster.

  • The final showdown between Randolph Scott and Lee Marvin is UNFORGETTABLE, ANTHOLOGICAL AND SUPERB. SEVEN FROM NOW IS ONE OF THE GREATEST WESTERN EVER MADE...

    Eddie Lancaster.

  • Good clip. I like Randolph Scott, never quite made the A- list but solid as a rock. Marvin great as always.

  • to scorzeny45--randolph scott was not gay--just a smart dude who wan't gonna let a woman get him for all his money--that's why he waited a long to finally marry.

  • This is one great scene between two great actors. Randolph Scott was great. Lee Marvin was oustanding and really made this scene though. And that background music when Marvin is shot is outstanding. Thanks for sharing.

  • Scott was a wooden actor.

  • How wooden? Surely not as wooden as your head...

  • This is a great movie and this scene is great. Randolph Scott and Lee Marvin also faced off in two other good movies Hangman's Knot and The Stranger Wore a Gun. No need to guess who won in those.

  • Damn Randolph, don't you know you are supposed to let the bad guy draw first, then it's self defense!(ha-ha!)...great classic western scene, two powerhouse actors the likes of which will never grace the silver screen again...

  • In this scene, Lee Marvin thought he was the Matador and Randolph Scott was the bull. Marvin finds out to his dismay that he is the bull! One of the greatest western confrontations of all time from one of the greatest westerns ever made. It's such a shame Hollywood no longer knows how to make films like this.

  • You are so right. And even though Lee just finished killng is John Larch and his buddy

Donald "Red" Barry....i stil get choke up when Lee finally bites the dust.....

  • absolutely right,,,u need a clap

  • @lowellgrippo

One of the greatest western ever made???

Have you seen Shane, High Noon, Unforgiven, Dances with Wolves just to name a few.

  • @ Finkelgruber: Yes I've seen all of them, several times in fact. I said ONE of the greatest not THE greatest. I'd give that to High Noon. Have you even seen this film?

  • @lowellgrippo Of course I have, High Noon is right there in my list!

Oh, another good one is "Once upon the Time in the West'

  • @lowellgrippo They know how but they would much rather make overblown crap with excessive and unnecessary special effects.

  • good scene!

    keep up the good work.

  • This is from the movie SEVEN MEN FROM NOW. It's an incredibly inventive shoot from the director. It gives the impression that Scott's character is lightning fast and is one of my favorite gunfighter movie sequences.

The movie by the way is outstanding, and I recommend any fan of the Western genre get it for their collection.
