  • 4 guitars = Jazz

  • Good Music is serious business and these guys prove it!

It's not playing 2-3 chords in a "noise band", jumping about the stage with faces full of glee..pleasing teenagers...this is absolute crap! Why can't (for once) we have real talented musicians on stage where they should be..admired by the masses ...will this ever happen? NOT

  • Just smiling......

  • a tempi....

  • Grumpy 0:06 Birelli

    Sneezy 1:03 Christian

    Happy 0:55 1:54 3:23 Stochelo

    Sleepy 2:13 Nonnie

Bashful 4:58 Nous'che (on the the back)

  • Having fun is at the core of playing jazz, and these guys embody that.

  • HAHA ESCOUDE'S FACE. also, WHO does bireli think he is :D stochelo has a great ear for the melody, NONNIE is one badass bassist and nous'che prolly has the sturdiest right hand on this planet

  • @xemosintightsx lol ill beat that bireli with my "i just ate a lemon" face

  • THAT BASS PLAYER IS GOING NUTS

  • Rockin! (I love BL's weird stuff!)

  • GREAT STUFF!! I dont really like lagrene's wierd stuff but man he's able to play so damn smooth.. he probably is the most technical guitarist sitting there... I still like stochelo's melodies better for some reason...I think we all loved the bass and dont forget the human metronome Nous'che Rosenberg.. He hardly ever gets any props.. o yeah the guy with the mustache... he's there 2

  • I love this video.

I love how during Stochelo's solo he quote's Django's solo and they all know it front and back and they have some cool little interplay on it for a sec. Great musicians.

  • awesome

  • Man, their styles are so incredibly diverse, yet they blend so well. This is seriously blowing my mind into space chunklets right now.

  • WoW! Incredible. Not to forget the bass player doing a fantastic job

  • @d34dpr3z

lol yeah! that was the first thing that caught my attention before listening to the guitarist (and i´m a guitarist^^) best wishes from Arg

  • @d34dpr3z

lol, the bassist is so used to his fingers flying everywhere at 3:19 is like "hmmm... what would be better for dinner?.. pizza or spaghetti? I prefer sushi"

  • wooooooooooow

  • Stochello killed this... a legend!!!

  • Stochee's guitar has a really strange sound at this concert.

  • does anyone know what escouda is playing...it has the look of an es-175 but does not look 16 inches....also it has a p-90 and humbucker....does anyone know if this is some custom he uses

  • C'est absolument merveilleux avec des musiciens sublimes.

Merci de garder intact cette tradition du jazz manouche pour notre plus grand bonheur.

  • i know that this guys have a LOT of technical skills in their solos, but i have to stay, that what impresses me the most are their amazing chord progressions and changes, man, living in a world with bad 3 cord songs on radio i have to say its very pleasant to see that advanced and serious chord work.

  • AMEN BROTHER!!!!

  • welcome to the world of jazz!

  • Bireli is not condescending AT ALL towards other players. That's a lie bound to start a rumor that is nothing but total BS. He's just an extremely mellow guy. Anyway, I think S. Rosenberg is the best guitar player on the planet right now. I'd say Bireli was in the top ten as well, along with J. Bruno, P. Martino, D. Dykes, J. Williams, etc.

  • habe das konsert auf cd latsches escoude

mit seine fratsen wo er macht suber grüse

    johann müller D

  • WILL LEARN THIS BASS!!!

  • 4:02 Impressive!!

  • bireli's sliding = jizz in my pants

  • escoude tu est magnifique c'a le fait plus que tous grave grave j'en ai les larmes au yeux bon courage michel des landes

  • super mais le contrebassiste il est ouu pas de sooolo

  • This is great..

  • I like Lagrene's facial expresions when Escoude takes his solo. Its like "ok, are you almost done yet?" LOL

  • exactly! zzzzzzzzzzzz

  • i've heard that bireli is quite condescending towards other players. he does look bored in most of these videos.

  • I haven't heard that but I've seen it in video's before. I've never seen him look bored with the Rosenberg's though. Just players on the level of Escoude.

  • awesome battel...

  • The bassist is incredible...Really, he makes it look effortless.

  • ...nice

  • il souffre escoudé ..

  • thanks man for the uploads... cheers

  • holy shit they ripped that to shreds, damn fine pickin

  • My oh my youtube is soo funny. Everyone schooling eachother on who's better and what's what under every movie clip. :D

    People.

    *gets on kees

Just enjoy the music! This happens to be a prime example. Django lives!

  • 'Jazz' is what results from musicians interacting and understanding one another. There are 'standard' tunes, sure, which doesn't mean that a song which is not 'in the book' couldn't be used as a basis for jazz.

The way these guys really 'live' their art deserves the greatest respect. And envy, as far as I'm concerned. :-)

    May YouTube be forever.

    JJ

  • holy shit bireli...

  • actually it's in the real book, so it is considered a standard...

... then again, so is "That's Amore" and "Yesterday"....

  • er, just cause the sign beside them says jazz, doesn't mean this is a jazz tune, for the record. This is a boogie blues jam, not jazz.

  • check out Pete Fountains version of this...sounds like Dixieland to me

  • Are not the Mettallica guys now driving cabs and working a Walmart?

  • what a show!

  • that's the beautiful thing about jazz: soloing>improvisation. It suprises you every meausure.

  • the greatests :)

  • escoude looks like he ate a lime :)

  • I think Escoude busted a nut around 1:13.

  • The problem is probably just a case of "tin-ear." Go listen to Metallica instead.

  • Metallica has made some nice songs too.

  • it is not comparible with this music, but i have to agree that metallica made some nice stuff too. But seeing them playing like this.. I honestly doubt it.

  • that's your opinion.. but there is a line in it. if you don't hear that line, you don't know anything about music.

  • well what do you find interesting?

  • Great. Just I've posted in Orbe Sonoro (blog) Thanks for uploading

  • man how sweet!! Escoude is somthin else with that electric! its a nice change....of course they all are killer! fun to watch

  • Realy if your saying speed guitar playing or even think of it, faster than this is hardly possible! depressing.. i think ill burn my guitar.

  • rosenber, guidenstern, and co. coitainly are not dead!

  • Having only discovered Bireli Lagrene today i have to say that he is one of my new favourites, i love his sound and his talent! he's doing stuff ive never seen or heard before, what a talent! As for the Rosenburgs they are all amazing! nice post guys!

  • appologies I got it wrong

  • Christian Escoude does not apear on this video.

The other guitarist is Nous'che Rosenberg who with bassist (also on this video) Nonnie Rosenberg and Stochelo make up the Rosenberg Trio

  • There are 4 guitarists, from left to right: Nous'che Rosenberg (rhythm guitar of the Rosenberg Trio, wearing a tuxedo), Bireli Lagrène, Christian Escoude, Stochelo Rosenberg (in t-shirt).

  • they are genius!

  • Birili sure stands out here. Stocholo is

no slouch either. Great playing. Hard tune.

  • Stochelo is grand... it's almost a shame to hear Bireli on electic, he's MADE for gypsy guitar! but he plays great.

  • I absolutely love limehouse blues. Such a great harmony.

And this is up to the django standard! amazing performance.

  • this is better than the django standard.

  • This is my favorite of the series! Great improvisations by everyone

  • well.. these guys know what they are doing, don't they :-)
