i laughed so hard when hardy thought that training with Sera would make a world of difference..all sera had on GSP was that he caught him while standing up..look at the second GSP Sera fight, pure domination...this fight was so ugly, hardy was just trying to survive, and it showed he didnt belong in there with george...koscheck, ftich, penn, alves, all would kill hardy too..

He fucked up 2 of the top fighters in his weight class in Mike Swick and Marcus Davis so apart from Fitch I don't think any of the others you mentioned would pose the sort of problems you think they would.

Hardy had heart. GSP may have the title, but Hardy came out of the fight with a lot of fans and some new found respect for not tapping out and finishing a five round fight with GSP.

No way in hell GSP stands and trades with this guy. GSP hasn't done that since he was knocked out by Serra. That shows me that HE DOES NOT LIKE TO GET HIT. That's rare for a so called great striker like GSP. Strikers usually embrace getting hit in the face. We all know what GSP's gonna do and that's push the pace and strike ONLY to set up takedowns. Lay & Pray basically. Although he does do a much better job of Laying and praying i must say. Hes a lot more active and offensive minded than most.

@SH1TTalkinC0DY Well, after watching the fight, it was obvious that Hardy didn't really have much of a chance. But i was spot on with my previous analysis of how GSP was gonna attack and win the fight. GSP fights a lot like Lesnar does. The funny thing is that many dog Lesnar, if you will, for laying and praying but praise GSP for doing virtually the same thing. Yes, he does look for subs and drops elbows here and there but it's obvious he wants no part of a stand up exchange with anyone.

@MasterOctagon Me too. Hardy showed a lot of heart in that fight. Many in that position would have given up the armbar or the kimura. But at the end of the day, GSP via takedowns. I really think that GSP is becoming more and more predictable. He was a lot more unpredictable early in his career. That is why i think he wouldn't survive @ 185 pounds much less give Silva, the p4p king, a challenge. If GSP faces someone who's a heavy handed striker and can stuff his takedown attempts, HE'S DONE.

Ive never seen someone even stop one of his takedown attempts. and he can strike, he just knows he has the advantage on the ground and he knows he can take it there so he takes it there.

Its another thing to completely dominant your opponent in a decision win and win by 5 points plus in the decision( George St.Pierre). Any other person in the UFC would have tapped to that armbar that GSP had locked in, but don't say GSP is lossing fans because he isn't.

Machida was also in hot water for racking up decision wins and what did he do? he started to take more chances, Results? he started knocking people the fuck out. Consequently, he became more popular and got a bigger fan base. That's not just my opinion, That's what happened.

GSP game plan is simple. Hardys camp really should have thrown him in Wrestling school. Not hard to know what GSP is going to do. Make a game plan to counter it simple. Hardy has no wrestling skill at all and it showed that night. hes good at talking but till he beats koshchek or Thiago Alves.

Anything can happen in a fight, but I suspect it may play out like the St.Pierre/Alves fight where GSP is the aggressor and controls the octagon. I think Hardy's best way to win is turning it into a kickboxing style type fight and keeping GSP at bay, but I see GSP winning in the end. Hope I am wrong though and Hardy pulls it off.

This is how I look at this fight:

Dan Hardy's ONLY chance is to be aggressive, if he just hangs back and tries to counter GSP will just leg-kick him and stay out of range. When Dan rushes him, he will just get taken down. Dan Hardy doesn't have much of a chance in this fight.
