  • This man deserves no respect. Yea, he got the job done alright. Take a look at the towers.

  • It's disgusting how tiny countries like Croatia&Serbia have to hand over their war criminals to justice, in international courts, but nobody has officially indicted those like Bush or Netanyahu for possible war crimes..or Cheney.. the UN is fucked up;

the EU, Russia, China, India, Brazil, maybe even South Africa, Mexico, the ASEAN, these should all become global superpowers and split the big global power 'pie' in as many pieces as possible; than, essentially any country can be hold accountable

  • He's a badass, enough said. He's the real life equivalent of Freddie Kreuger. You don't want to fuck with him.

  • Does anyone else have a problem following Cenks logic on this? I have NO respect for Dick Cheney and the authorities in power as it stands or stood, in other words the elite 1% who we all know are calling all the shots. Shit, no man or women in the publics view with that much power and influence acts completely independently without taking directions from some larger (evil) influence. On a related note, Does anyone agree that Cheney is a hideously ugly man? He is absolutely bovine looking.

  • HGWT5763. 04/10/13/2010 A.D. CENK,YOU ARE A MIGHTY NICE GUY AND YOU ARE CERTAINLY AN INSPIRATION TO LIBERALS,RADICALS,ETC.EVERYWHERE-HOWEVER,I AM SORRY TO HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT I HAVE FAR MORE RESPECT FOR THE LATE,GREAT RODNEY DANGERFIELD THAN FOR FORMER DEPUTY FUHRER DICK CHENEY-HE HIMSELF HAS GOT NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE,PERIOD!

  • Amazing how the people who reacted didn't understand anything. Maybe no clue to turkish irony?

  • sarcasm is da best :D

  • I, like Cenk, respect Cheney in the same way that I respect Stalin or the fictional Emperor Palpatine. Remember this quote? "I'm afraid the deflector shield will be QUITE operational when your friends arrive."

He means he respects his competence, rather than his worth as a person. Cheney clowned the facile John Edwards in the VP debate of 2004.

Only later did I realize how malevolent he truly was. He wants to make this country a kleptocracy; he must be opposed.

  • Not once, not one time has this guy ever had an opposing view on this program. And he thinks MSNBC is gonna pick him up??? Even Mr. Maddow puts moderate republicans on his show from time to time, as does olberman and matthews

  • @erazdadazz kleptocracy? That's just slander.

Read "Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency" for more info.

  • To the both of you, the laws should be followed but our laws only stretch from one ocean to the other. As soon as we are threatened from an outside source the laws become international and lets face it there are no international laws. Just like with terrorism there are no rules of war. So one must realize that you have to be just as aggressive as the enemy.

  • Respect=to hold in esteem or honor. If you honor and esteem him for all the destructive things he's done to this country and world, you're a bigger idiot than he is!!!!! Pick up a dictionary man!!

  • This is probably the best TYT clip i've seen so far.

  • cant wait to have a mexican and japanese president... MWAHAHAHA.

  • I'm hoping that the liberals nominate a woman who is a gay porn-star next time around. The libs get all giddy by making history with candidates that have never held high office before, EVEN IF IT MEANS THAT THEY ARE WORTHLESS WITH NO ABILITY TO FUCKING LEAD THE NATION.

  • lol not my country. I could care less of what Liberals want....

But it always occur to me that the conservative right are idiots and ignoramuses.

Thank you for being such a good model of that.

  • Has it ever occurred to your foreign brain that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about when it comes to AMERICAN politics, AMERICAN values, and ultimately what being an AMERICAN is really all about? Don't bother.....if you weren't born here, and if you don't have American parents.........you'll never have a fucking clue. Watch television and take in a few movies, and convince yourself you know all about it.

  • Im guessing u have no clue either. Ur just acting tough and waving ur dick around....

    Ahhhh, Americans...

i wish i have that bravado.

  • yeah like republicans showed that they had an ability to lead the nation. Don't make me laugh!

  • Cheney had the CIA WATERBOARD 3 top-tier Muslim terrorists and found out about the future attacks that were planned. This is what I call LEADERSHIP (GOP style). In stark contrast, your paper hero (that Einsteins like yourself help elect )Barrack thought it was a good idea for CIA classified information that dealt with interrogating captured terrorists to be leaked to the world...including to enemies of the US. (the same enemies of the US when Carter and Clinton were Presidents) Laughing yet?

  • The reports Cheney cited about that were written and manufactured months after the actual interrogations took place and were written simple to cover the CIA's own ass. They were not legitimate information. But Cheney must be telling the truth about that right? You are so blind it's sad.

  • Did Cheney tell you that? LMFAO

  • Agreed.

  • i respect dick chenney as welll

he has the skill of getting what ever you want and geting people to give it to you and MAKING THEM THINK THEY ARE THE ONES to do it in the first place , or something like that

my 12 grade english teacher is teaching me this method lol no joke i hope i can learn all of it like a sponge because this is a wonderful skill to have at my arsenal =)

cheers for everyone! ,, GO TYT !!!!

  • In a corrupt, sinister, back stabbing, satanic worshipping kind of way, Cheney is a genius.

As a person, he is a complete asshole with no moral integrity what so ever!

  • well i do give cheny props for doing so much without people knowing until its too damn late. everyone voted for what he wanted to change too and its a damn shame. really do respect his skill in changing the country from the inside stealthily like that. Too much shit that he changed its going to be hard as hell to undo it all. Obama is the black janitor that they sent in to clean that shit up. He better have gloves on cuz its guna be super dirty work from now on.

  • I agree with Cenk. As much as I can't stand Cheney, he overtook the whole idea of executive power.

  • 44 seconds in Cenk proves himself wrong. You don't respect "dirty cheats" like Cheney, you indict them, arrest them, try them and then execute them!

  • I agree with you captkirk999, Dick Cheney even looks like the Emperor in Star Wars!...Creepy!

  • cenk is defining cheney as a faschist

  • He was the front man for a huge conspiracy that spent the most money in history. i think you have to look at it like this; he had a gun and he was bossing people around, and was showing how important he was by killing relative innocents and stealing the oil under their land. Someone like Cheney it would be easier to respect him after he is gone. He turned the US government into a gang war.

  • Dick Cheney is the Greatest American Hero.

Anyone that disagrees can go fuck themselves.

  • Dick Cheney is the most unamerican person I've ever seen.

  • How are you so stupid? How? Please explain how you are so stupid.

  • your ignorant and too partisan for your own good. Anyone who does not see him for what he is doesn't want to and is fooling themselves.

  • Dick Cheney is pure fucking GENIUS! He slithered into the white house, fullfilled his neo-con agenda, became unimaginably wealthy, and it G.W. Bush that walks away looking like the real asshole, as the most hated man in america, as the worst president to ever serve in America. Do you really think history will remember who the VP was? I don't think so

  • It's alot easier to fuck things up than to set things right for the world and it's inhabitants

  • Cenk, I just lost some respect for you after this

    Dick Cheney is a criminal

by "get the job done" means fuck us as quickly as possible

  • he doesnt understand what "respect" means.

  • What Bush and Cheney have done to our government is unforgivable. Our constitution, our Bill of Rights have received a series of changes over the past 8 years. You didn't say you respected Bush...but you stated you respect Cheney because of how he used his power in the government. Ok. Since you're throwing that around....and admiring people for how they took over their government...

How about Hitler? Stalin? The list is endless. ..

    C'mon, Cenk!

  • Yeah, he'd shoot us in the face dude!

  • yeah, it took em a long time catch al capone too.

  • Very clever the way u called him "big" dick cheney, very original. Your right he is the exact opposite of the pussy libs that believe the constitution, laws, rights for EVERYONE. Those pussy libs like Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln, and Kennedy. He will never be as "big" a pussy lib as them b/c unlike them he doesnt believe in America and our values. He believes in wiretapping, fraud, lying, cheating, and stealing, oh yeah and making money for him and all his friends. FUCK CHENEY.

  • When the wiretapping of potential terrorists and enemies here continues under Obama how will you feel then? Only a fool has a problem with this type of LEGAL survellience, especially when 911 is put into perspective. You mentioned Kennedy....how about all the ILLEGAL wiretapping they did against Martin Luther King? Seems as if you need to sit yourself down and rethink a few things, huh?

  • We already wiretap potential terrorists and always have and I would be shocked if Obama didn't continue to do this. What I was talking about was wiretapping people who are not terriorist in any way, shape, or form and they have already done this. It's illegal, unethical and should be stopped. BTW, it's not hard to get a warrant for a suspected terrorist anyway. And I believe that's a myth about MLK, jr. If anyone has GOOD evidence i'd love to hear it, but I haven't heard any yet.

  • Are you like 10 years old? Have you ever heard of J. Edgar Hoover? How about Robert Kennedy? Before you make yourself look any more foolish, ignorant, and un-informed, go to the public library and read all about how the Kennedys and the Hoover-led FBI spied on Martin Luther King with plenty of wire-tapping involved. Please....no more replies from you, OK? I'm really all done with un-informed and naive people like yourself. Go back to texting with your little buddies or something.....

  • I did read up on it, and looks like they did wiretap mlk but remember the times. It was the '60s and blacks were really second class citizens back then so any black person back then who was as outspoken as mlk was going to be under scruntiny and wiretapped. BTW, I was talking about jfk not rfk but it doesnt really matter. the govt tracks and wiretaps its enemies and in the '60s blacks were the enemies.

  • Only fools would give up their liberty and values for the sake of security.

  • What values and liberties were given up? What rights were taken away while the Bush Admin. was trying to prevent more terrorists attacks? Oh, you didn't know that it was discovered through WATERBOARDING captured terrorists in Cuba that MORE 9-11 style attacks had been planned? You prob. are sorry that more attacks didn't take place since you're so against harsh questioning of terrorists. Yup, so what if another 2,800 ppl get killed, right? These Muslims have every right to murder again, right?

  • Um... hello?? The patriot act? being spied on? Involving ourselves with torture? Oh and all the valid information that we got from terrorists was gotten NOT through torture but through normal interrogation techniques. We only tortured people when we wanted to find a link between Al Quaida and Iraq which we knew wasn't there. What are your sources that we got legitimate information from waterboarding? Oh and by the way, even if we had, that doesn't justify it. A terrible defense!

  • You're a treat. Thank-you for exposing yourself as a true lib who would rather have captured Muslim terrorists BE ALLOWED to withhold information about a plot that could kill thousands. Oh no, dunking their heads in water is NOT ALLOWED! If he doesn't want to tell the CIA about a dirty bomb planted in L.A., that is his right! And if 15,000 citizens die in the blast (that could have been prevented) so be it....Ha ha ha .."even if legitimate information is obtained, waterboarding isn't justified."

  • You want to know what makes this country great? Principles like obedience to the rule of law. Our system is under threat, and it can only survive long-term off the strength of our founding principles. If at ANY time it becomes acceptable to compromise our principles, then the system will die- hijacked by morons like you. We must firmly support the soul of the country, and if that means that people have to die, that is the price we must pay. Read that Washington line on security and liberty.

  • What rule of law was broken under Bush/Cheney? Since when is interrogating captured Muslim terrorists (off the battlefield) illegal? Huh? Since when? Go lecture someone else.....run along now little fella....people like yourself are an absolute BORE.

  • Read 'The Dark Side'. Aided and abetted by the Office of Legal Counsel, Cheney efffectively neutered all judicial and legislative checks on his power, making things that had been previously illegal 'semi--legal'. For a member of the executive to do that is absolutely a breach of the rule of law.

People like yourself, sir, are the second biggest threat to democracy.

  • Your accusations that Cheney broke laws is a complete and contrived REACH and you know it. And you make it sound like that when Bush took over the nation lost its principles. More BS from you. Wanna discuss lost principles? How bout Al Gore's FATHER voting against the Civil Rights Amendment? How about the American Indian nation being wiped out? How bout Atom Bombs being dropped on civilians by a President from the Democratic party? To single out Bush/Cheney is biased and untrue on your part.

  • No one could have said it better.

  • Oh and also the only way you idiots know how to argue is by using the strawman argument. Why, by me being fundamentally opposed to torture, does it mean that I am FOR another attack? What?!? Shit don't make no sense fool. Look beyond your parties talking points for once.

  • What did Cheney do? Simple. He lied his ass off and never got called out on any of it. If you can get the media to treat you that way, then you can do whatever you want, too. How you get that kind of treatment is a whole different question.

  • Simple. Money , power and connections to mighty companys . This motherfucker wants to be like him !

  • Start by reading Machiavelli's, "The Prince and the Discourse." Then you'll see it, G.W. Bush as the Prince. Also, most of his changes are short lived.

All Presidents can break the law and most do. There is a glaring loophole in the Constitution in that the President interprets the law before the courts. It is a necessary loophole, most President only use it in emergencies. Cheney has abused it, I would hate to see a President I supported abuse power in a similar way, even if I agreed with him

  • Here's how the VP can gain all the executive power of the President...it's really easy...one sentence: Get behind a bumbling, chimp-like, cowardly idiot of a US President.

  • Well, the reason Russ hasn't had the success of Dick is that Russ is an honest person. We Americans aren't honest - we don't like honesty. It's not because Cheney is anything special, in my opinion. He's just empowering greedy people.

  • I KNEW THIS ALL ALONG

  • It's not ballsy when you're shouting the general consensus in Washington on both sides (Republicans and Democrats). Both parties believe what Cheney says, yet he is painted as some sort of extremist.

  • an evil genius is still a genius...but with evil.

  • Cheney supported the vietnam war but was a five-deferment draft dodger, how can you respect that?

  • hes talking about his actions in the white house, not his past history

  • I totally agree with Cenk. Cheney is evil as shit but I've always respected the fact that he had a nutsack unlike 99% of our politicians.

  • Cenk: "There's nobody else like him [Cheney] in the country."

For good reason, Cenk, he has a complete disregard and lack of respect for those around him. He's self-serving and ruthless. You, yourself often talk about "that's not right" or "that's wrong", yet you respect a man who has no moral compass.

Like someone said above, it's like saying you respect dictators such as Hitler, Mao and Kim Jong Il. Gotta love their determination and ability to control situations to get results they like.

  • Didn't Cenk give the appropriate disclaimer? He's not using respect in the traditional sense...he despises Dick Cheney and rather, he respects his resolve and ability to get results only.

  • I suppose he needed a further disclaimer on not using logic in the traditional sense either. In which reality can you divorce the character trait you admire/respect from its consequences?

My point was that people of "resolve" like Dick Cheney are self-serving and can only get results by trampling others' concerns. That's why they get results. Despite Cenk's disclaimer, I have to take umbrage with the idea the trait and the results it produces can be divided: respect one and hate the other?

  • I think you're taking far too strict a view of this situation and getting caught up in semantics rather than looking at the context of the statement and the person making it. That's my opinion anyway. You can disagree with it and I disagree with yours.

  • i dunno. But the hook got me interested. And I listened.

  • I think he meant more to say that he respected certain attributes of Dick Cheney, not that he respects him as a whole.

  • Will to power alone deserves no respect, Cenk. By the way, I see you've swallowed the Republican lie that Bush chose Cheney. PNAC, which Dick Cheney is a member of, were planning this administration's objectives long before Dubya became "The Chosen One".

  • re·spect [ri-spekt] the condition of being esteemed or honored.

Cenk, how can you respect someone who has put this country on a disastrous course and has constantly trampled on the constitution?

  • If things have gone so far in the wrong direction incremental change in the right direction would put us on the path, still, to collectivist totalitarianism.Cenk voices exactly the evil which is the mono-party: to gain power to impose your will on others.Interesting that the call to liberty is as radical now as it was in 1776.So, change isn't different, it is more of the same: coercive government that rules the people instead of the people controlling government. Too bad.

  • Dick, respect? He can be acknowledged as a competent person, good at what he does. That's it. Respect implies admiration for quality of character, positive motives, good will. Respect perhaps can come from empathy or sympathy. Cheney demands none of the above from rational human beings. He manipulates people for small group benefit, he has further wrecked the country, he is a liar, a cheat and a fraud. Come on, he opposes gay rights despite his gay daughter! Way to support your family Dick!

  • Wow...so you want to replace Chaney with a liberal version? That will solve our problems...

  • hehe...like you know who the VP is? But what do you know, you can't even spell Cheney.

  • Yes, the liberal will. We will stop the war, we will stop pollution, and we will stop the economy being so god damn destroyed.

In other words, we will be going against the convservatives code-of-conduct, of 'NOT HELPING PEOPLE, UNDER ANY AND ALL CIRCUMSTANCES'.

Obama is also a Progressive, not just a Democrat.

  • Cheney represents the consensus in Washington on both sides.

Obama has yet to prove that he is anything other than a representative of the status quo.

As Cenk says, Obama will likely bring about incremental change at best. Hopefully I am wrong.

  • If you don't respect something dangerous, and treat it like it doesn't matter or is unimportant, it is going to get you hurt. You're always right to respect dangers.

  • You may ACKNOWLEDGE someone as dangerous,

but that doesn't mean you have to be RESPECTFUL to that dangerous individual.

In fact, you should be WARY and DISTRUSTFUL of someone like that.

  • So you want to do the right thing by being duplicidous and power hungry?

But for the rest who don't know what he means by respect. He respects Cheney like a cat respects a hot stove.

  • Cenk, do you respect Hitler for these same reasons? I don't believe power in itself deserves respect.

  • I don't respect someone because they change SOMETHING. I respect when try do/try to change something FOR THE BETTER. I respect Ron Paul because he's doing what he(and for the MOST part me)thinks is best. I respect Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader because they are tirelessly trying to change things for the better, they can't be blamed because other people don't agree with them. Wheres Dick Cheney knows that he's doing evil.

  • WELCOME TO BEING A MINORITY IN THIS COUNTRY. WE HAVE TO KISS THE MAJORITY'S ASS TO GET ELECTED.

America is not a progressive country. America is conservative. McCarthyism has helped frame American politics. We as Americans are dumb. We will vote for conservative fascists but we will never elect a liberal president. That's facts. Like some minorities want Obama to tell middle America to go to hell, liberals wnt Obama to tell the right wing to go to hell. He can't. No Democrat can.

  • Spot on, Cenk. You always have to learn from the successesof your adversaries.

Interesting one to also conside, though not as thoroughly evil, is Arnold Schwarzenegger. Pete Wilson was kicked out not because of corruption but for incompetence. But somehow, Arnold, with absolutely no record of political competence replaced him. Love him or hate him, how whacked was that?!

Of course, the same folks who cheered on OJ, a charged murderer, in his highway flee probably voted for Arnold.

  • KenTX,

    SUCK MY DICK!

    ha ha

  • Cenk, when are you gonna quit blaming the media and blame americans for being dumb

  • Probably when america will be smarter, and media will be more true.

  • or when america fight for a more true media.

  • Those who covet power like the far-right are trapped in fear that they project into a population that is searching for leadership and guidance. It explains their appeal: "You have my fear! So you understand!" They keep playing the fear-factor ad nauseum, create enemies, provoke attacks, retaliate. Seductive and destructive simultaneously, a cycle of fear going nowhere, but making a nice ditch into which to throw the bodies. If the Dems adopt these tactics, this country is finished.

  • To know exactly how cheney did what he did you would have to know the contents of his "man-sized" safe.

I wonder WTF is in there?

Personally i think it's OCEANS of blackmail files on everyone in DC. Would'nt that make sense as to how cheney always seems to get everyone to go along with his plans? Remember the DC madam who "hung" herself? I wonder what she died knowing.

Yep i bet cheney has been working from "the dark side" for a long long loooooooong time.

  • Cheney mistook Iran for a quail and bombed it.

  • cheney IS the devil!

  • Cheney worshipped the devil to get into power. Plain and simple fellas...

  • 9-11!

  • 9-11!

  • cenk the way your mind works is fucking interesting man, you actually inspire me to think that its not just me these days who thinks for themself. awesome work man

  • Nietzsche says the eye of knowledge does not see stars as above. Power is not a master, but an environment.

Every act of violence associated with names promotes the power of those names. These are not the names of people, but organizations and networks.

Nietzsche says madness is rare in individuals but the rule when they organize together. If this is true, why?

  • Sorry, I meant to say that every act of violence associated with names promotes the power of those names AND their enemies. Think how Operation Gladio worked, for example. Anyway.

  • Wasn't Nietzsche a linebacker for the Packers?

  • haha Cenk looks like a baby with his haircut. Okay, watching the rest of the video now ...
