I like. My school pipe band that I'm in uses KP2's and a different pad. Just a question though why are you reversed traditional grip? Doesn't look traditional. Even though your playing is good. I'm just asking.
@Jamieu5 I didn't get it on the internet its a recording that I got a lend of a while back but Im sure there are recordings of it somewhere online, cheers for watching and commenting
@drewman292 Sorry for the delayed reply, Im afraid I dont have any sheet music for this because I was just messing about with a couple of ideas when I recorded it. Cheers for the comment though.
@hcparadiddle i started when i was a kid and joe logan was teaching at our band, being young and dumb i quit, biggest regret i have, just taken up snare again and at the basics, mammy daddy, triplets, fives, paradiddles n that,i'm using jim kilpatrick kp2 sticks by vic firth and a billy hyde pad,is that a good combo or have i got it all wrong? any advice appreciated, nice tippin by the way mate, what band you with?
@trippin5480 Hey sorry for the delayed reply, yeah KP2s are a good stick you cant go wrong there, Fair play for getting back into the drumming btw Iv played in a few bands but I'm playing with Fintan Lalor P.B in Dublin for the past year or so
@trippin5480 no problem mate, thanks for replying,i'm comfortable with the sticks but i'm not quite sure about my pad,the rebound is decent but the sound is a bit dodgy,it can be mounted on a cymbal stand,if i got one and mounted it would that change the sound much? it's brutal trying to learn,i shouldn't have walked away when i was a kid but all i can do is practice, practice, practice lol
@trippin5480 Well I checked out your practice pad here on youtube its looks like a pad with very little rebound but that can be a great thing for practicing rudiments as it makes you put in a lot more effort. My advice for what its worth would be to keep your pad but also get a more comfortable one for practicing with the band. There are a good few that you can try, the remo pro pad is great but it is a bit pricey. Also Kilpatrick has a new pad out for 25 quid and it looks good. Keep both though.
@blackie005 hi, the sticks are medium weight and the pad is made by Stephen Creighton, not sure if he has them on sale yet but its a great practice pad
