Here however you make the mistake of personally attacking atheists (or to be more precise TJ). You are pointing fingers as much as they do. I do agree with "zealotry on both sides of the discussion", both sides have pro's and cons, and it's good to point them out.
My criticisms were leveled at specific individuals and their actions,(e.g. Dendrophilian's attempt to justify pedophilia) as opposed to an entire group of people. I have been equally, if not more, critical of Christian zealots. (see video on EndTimeWatchman) Thanks for the candid comment.

I agree on the religion thing and it divides and is not always in the good as far as intent goes. I believe in Jesus though and will study that on my own, but as far as a base relgion goes I have none nor care to really join one.

People enter the argument too early, when they still think this is a battle. in reality, most faiths are a collaborative attempt to understand each other. Yeah, did you mention that Sweden has the highest suicide rate in Europe? What about the 25% unemployment rate? I have talked to a Swedish woman, and she said that yeah, a little bit of the population is nice, but she said that Swedes are generally cold and arrogant. She said they complain a lot too. It is hard to be happy without Jesus. And, you can't have a high crime rate if you don't have a population either. Sweden only has around 9 million people. The US has 304 million people.
Firstly, crime rate is listed as a percentage... A town with 1,000 people and 10 crimes has the same crime rate as a town with 10,000 people and 100 crimes...
Besides, even if what you say is true (I reckon being 'cold and arrogant' is probably a cultural thing, if it's true), Britain, France, most of the other Nordic countries besides Sweeden and Japan ALL have at least 40% atheism and ALL have lower crime and teen pregnancy rates than America...
Also, atheists are underpresented in America's prison population and it has been proven time and time again that there is a strong positive correlation between atheism and education (that is, if you have a PHD, you are far less likely to believe in God than someone who flunked out of high school)...

Huh. Absolute certainty about the nature of good and evil is a dangerous thing, and why I'm no longer a Christian. Every athiest I've ever known has a moral code, and some of them have been as ridged as the worst of zealots, but a lot of them have mutable morality that expands to encompass new wisdom.
When I was a christian, I was blocked and hindered from expanding that wisdom, and I said and did things that I will always regret, because faith isn't an excuse.

I believe anyone that can produce 400+ videos on youtube has some life experience. you may be older then he is, but he can easily have more life experience then you. unless you personally know him, you have no experience to base your opinion on especially on what HE believes.
My comments are not about age. I have watched many of his vids, and read some of his writing. I have lived and worked in the Pacific, South America, Europe, and other places with people from many socioeconomic backgrounds, with many beliefs. I served in the armed forces for 8 years, and volunteer several hundred hours (per year) with community and youth organizations. I don't think it is a stretch to say I have considerably more life experiences and i'm far more accepting of others views.

I agree on the religion thing and it divides and is not always in the good as far as intent goes. I believe in Jesus though and will study that on my own, but as far as a base relgion goes I have none nor care to really join one.

Religion is a control mechanism for the rich and a light of hope for the poor. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know wtf is good vs bad. Out of the 6 videos I checked out thus far, this one is my favorite. Not because of the message alone; It's the presentation...the use of both audio and video (like that high pass distorted filter on your voice). You know your tools well sir.

People enter the argument too early, when they still think this is a battle. in reality, most faiths are a collaborative attempt to understand each other. The earphones are to monitor sound sound levels, because I edit, on the fly. I have multiple vids, where I don't wear them, and i'm not sure why you're so concerned with aesthetics. When you make your 1st vid, you can demonstrate your superior eye, to iSight, contact. Taking your spelling of "kindergarten" into consideration, I doubt your "non"-impressionable mind will be accepted into Mensa, in the foreseeable future. (google the Latin, jr.) Yeah, did you mention that Sweden has the highest suicide rate in Europe? What about the 25% unemployment rate? I have talked to a Swedish woman, and she said that yeah, a little bit of the population is nice, but she said that Swedes are generally cold and arrogant. She said they complain a lot too. It is hard to be happy without Jesus. And, you can't have a high crime rate if you don't have a population either. Sweden only has around 9 million people. The US has 304 million people.

Firstly, crime rate is listed as a percentage... A town with 1,000 people and 10 crimes has the same crime rate as a town with 10,000 people and 100 crimes...

Huh. Absolute certainty about the nature of good and evil is a dangerous thing, and why I'm no longer a Christian. Every athiest I've ever known has a moral code, and some of them have been as ridged as the worst of zealots, but a lot of them have mutable morality that expands to encompass new wisdom.
When I was a christian, I was blocked and hindered from expanding that wisdom, and I said and did things that I will always regret, because faith isn't an excuse.

i also have to agree here as well, as an atheist, and especially when i first came out, i would have labelled me as a zealot, i mean i was PISSED that i felt lied to, misled, and generally had been fed misinformation, after i begun my journey into philosophy, religion, and politics, i came to realize i was the same person i began to hate, but that didn't change my beliefs or anything, i just changed how i was telling people those same beliefs, now its a lot more casual, only for those interested

My comments are not about age. I have watched many of his vids, and read some of his writing. I have lived and worked in the Pacific, South America, Europe, and other places with people from many socioeconomic backgrounds, with many beliefs. I served in the armed forces for 8 years, and volunteer several hundred hours (per year) with community and youth organizations. I don't think it is a stretch to say I have considerably more life experiences and i'm far more accepting of others views.

Eh, good and evil are relative terms. Everyone has their own definition.
Theists have groups, atheists shouldn't have groups around atheism...if they do it'll start drawing parallels to religion.
O and at the pedo thing...eh, Catholics do it.
The stuff you things you mention are more human things than things of a theist/atheist nature.

I love the way you made this, the lights, ect. I also like the sound of your voice on this. I think you make some really great points in this and I agree with most of it. I guess I consider myself a Deist but years ago I would have said Atheist -- strange personal experiences changed that belief. I try to let everyone believe what they want to believe but sadly some people just want to cram their beliefs down your throat and it's not just the major religions who do it. 5 stars, good job.

reclusiveLIT, well said...I have found when one crams down their belief in anothers throat, it just makes 'em want to vomit. Best would, could be...is by ones actions another wants to know what one believe. Perhaps that is rare. Not 1 or a few in a group makes up the entire group.

I understood perfectly, you don't like atheists...at least not ones that have the nerve to say so publicly and make youtube videos - that makes them 'zealots'.

Many of my non-theist friends commented in support of this video. I have no problem with anyone stating their opinion. TAA, sagan, and dendro, are clowns who promote hate and have nothing of substance to offer. Make what you want of it. I have no time for close minded individuals.

Atheism is one of the branches of Leftism. Therein lies their fanaticism. They view a belief in Christ as an attribute of the 'bad, evil, corrupt, fascist white, emperialist western world', and as such, is something that needs to be stamped out. Never do you hear or read of an atheist taking aim at non-Christian believe systems, proving that atheism is the providence of the liberal left, not an honest philosophical position.

Just as a question, How many Atheists/non theists do you know personally? Because its only the ones that attack Christianity that get any playtime, sensationalism is all that gets play time, and attacking Christianity is very sensational in the US. I bet if they all hopped on the current bandwagon of bashing Islam no one would care.

They don't bash islam because they see islam as a counterweight to Christianity. It is not religion they despise, it is Christianity. It is America, it is patriotism, it is western values and cultures, it is what they see as "capitalism", that's a biggie, the list goes on. Atheism is all part of the mantra of the Left.
