Damn, I miss my childhood. Then: excellent cartoons, now: crappy teen sitcoms. Nowadays, it seems like the new shows are about bands or music. That crap should be on MTV. When I have kids, I'll see to it personally that they watch the good old classics, not today's garbage!!!!! 1990's FTW!!!!!

@jokermausland well you know time changes, I agree I loved nickelodeon in the early 90's when I was child that was practicly the only chanel I saw. Today my naphew is a fan of I carly and spongebob, and he dosent believes when I tell him I use to watch nickelodeon, he thinks I'm acient!!! LOL I'm only 28 that was practicaly yesterday!!

I loved Nicktoons back in the day.

They had some of my favourite shows.

Just look at them now. In the last ten years they've only had one show I've liked. That's a terrible track record, and it doesn't seem to be getting better.

@misskristinyoo: Nick's toyed with a Nick Rewind idea before and nixed it, so why should this time be any different? In fact, Rugrats is only back for the 20th anniversary and the fact that it was the staple Nicktoon of Nickelodeon in the 1990's, for though all others were good, Rugrats had a longevity (1990-2004) that made it endure the test of time, even moreso than the cult status of other shows like the short-lived Invader ZIM from 2001-2002. XD

Funny thing about Nick Rewind, that was Nicktoons and Nick GAS were supposed to be, before GAS was nixed in favor of splitting Noggin/The N into Nick Jr. 24/7 & TeenNick, respectively, and Nicktoons became a shell of its former self, now airing the most recent Nicktoons that've only last a couple years and even airing those that are still aired on Nick (Spongebob, Penguins, Fanboy, et al).

The problem is, people forget about the things we grew up with & loved because now, its a new generation & younger kids just aren't into the same kind of stuff anymore.

They get spoon fed crap from a very early age now.

No more smoking in cartoons, no more violence, no more lewd gross acts in cartoons, nor do you see any of those slight racial slurs either [in the really old cartoons].

Those are some of the kind of things that set us apart really.

Its sad to say, but i believe that 3 of these 4 shows will be forgotten within 20 years. But, Rugrats will always be remembered as the greatest cartoon of the 1990s. Rugrats is better than spongebob is, simply because spongebob is, quite honstly, the same thing every episode.
