Yes, they will work with anyone who is willing to learn. When you get there they will be watching you for a day or two and assess where you are at and give you a trainer to work with. It is best to make sure you know a little bit and are in decent shape to make the most of your trip though. Good luck!

It's just their grunts, and the trainers usually make that sound to express approval or to let you know when you didn't do something right, or to encourage you. A lot of these trainers have a very basic grasp of English so this works instead of "Excuse me old chap, but your left foot was out of place when you performed the roundhouse, also keep your guard up" ;D

Crowds during a fight would make the same sound whenever their guy gets a good hit in.
