I got it to work what i had to do was.

Step.1 uinstall bf2142.

Then re-install it.

add patch 1.40.

then the boosterpack.

then patch 1.40 again.

then Patch 1.50.

And then i could play northern strike.

actually, i sent an e-mail to EA after i posted this, they said to create a new screen name. make a new EA account with ur e-amil as ur usename, then click on edit additional info, then crate screen name. hope this helps

Sort of, it's a 'booster pack' it doesn't add as much as an Expansion would (Such as Special Forces for Battlefield 2) but it adds 2 new vehicals (The PAC speeder thingy in the video and the EU Goliath tank) and 3 new (I think 3) maps.

Well, I'm kinda giving up. I'm just playing the regular BF2142 maps. I got a couple other problems like lag and getting kicked off every half hour. But what's really pissing me off is that sometimes it completely freezes during the map download and the game crashes or something. It gave me an error message once that said "Invalid memory chunk" or something like that. No matter though. I'm just playing BF2.

I think I did do it over. I ended up installing the 1.40 beta witch I found out was shit, so I un-installed everything. I reinstalled, re-patched, and reinstalled NS. It still gives me the same message. I tried the EA support website but it's really confusing because I don't know witch problem category this falls under. I feel I've spent enough time solving problems that have nothing to do with the Assault Lines maps.

your pc is too bad for this game or too bad internet connection...use lowest graphics and play small 16 ppl maps...i have good pc but i still keep settings low because in low ground and items is so light and without shadows, so enemy cannot hide from me in shadows :D

I've had the original BF 2142 for a couple of years, yes. I only found out about NS recently, and I wanted to get my hands on it. So I bought it, downloaded it, and started up BF. Ok, I have the 1.25 patch. I did try downloading the 1.40, but now I can only play the beta servers that kick you out every five minutes and lag. I'm thinking about reinstalling the game and try a different approach to it. What is this 'plug n play or flash stick'? What is it and how do I get it? Will it help me get into the NS servers? I can't really send the game back under warranty.

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 Graphics card. I'm told the kind that I have is top of the line. I did do an Easy Info check on the computer and it says that it is deficient. I tried downloading new drivers but with no success because there are no new driver updates for my graphics card. But I do doubt that is the problem at hand. Unless the graphics are that much more intense in NS. If it is the case, then I'll just turn down the graphics and try it again.

As corrupt as the EA corporation might be, I really like BF2142. There's nothing else out there quite as good. Like I said before, The 1.25 patch for BF is REQUIRED to install NS. There's no avoiding it! Unless there's some other patch I'm not aware of. I do notice something strange about it though. After you install NS it has a small window that says "UPDATE AVAILABLE." So maybe there is one, but I don't know where to find it.

if it says 'Punkbuster' when you get kicked, you have too high ping. If you use a wireless router, put it closer to your computer. or maybe you have too many applications in the backround going on. just close them and it will lower your ping.

it might be that you have high ping and an admin kicked you off, a successful vote to kick you, a lost connection or someone reserved a slot on the server and you was kicked to make room. it is unlikely you get disconnected because you have to download a patch (although you should to keep up with the servers).

No first u install Battlefield 2142 (if not already done), then patch it with 1.25 (if not already done)... then install the Northern Strike pack and then patch it again with 1.25.... this works
