  • so much distortion on that, looks so good haha makes my fisheye look like shit

  • waht size did u get? 52 or 58mm and if u got 58 how did u attach it to the vx cause isnt it 52mm?

  • @TheRoundysLab these don't have a thread size its bayonet mounted. mk1s usually come with the bayo mount for vx1000s. if you find one the seller will almost always tell you if its the vx1 mount in the description.

  • where can i shop a used mk1 ?

  • @ben70701 ebay or craigslist

  • @thepigpod hey dude ive been watching your videos for quite sometime and i just wanted to know what do you use to edit and whats your render settings for your vx to get the best quality out of it?

  • @TheJohnnypskater i use final cut pro its an old version but it still works pretty well. i never really payed attention to how i set my cameras it all depends on what conditions im filming in. I just keep messing with the colors till they look perfect to me. the real trick is the way you export your file when the video is done. if you run a mac or have quicktime i can give you the steps i take to get the quality up.

  • yo do u know how they make bayorings just a question ive never used a mk1

  • @Supercirca12 a lathe i guess then they probably mill out the grooves that lock it on to the camera

  • @thepigpod btw how do u attach the mk1 and make the bayo tighten without it falling out

  • @Supercirca12 on the lens and the ring you'll two little yellow dots, they need to be lined up before putting the thing on. when you put the lens on turn it clockwise till it stops there should be very little resistance between the lens and camera when doing this. now hold on to the bayo ring keeping it stationary while turning the lens half clockwise some more. since the bayo ring is threaded onto the lens doing this makes the space between the lens and ring thinner clamping it to your vx.

  • how much do these go for?

  • @ZahidSkateboards 750$ new

  • do you like dvx/mk2?

  • @filmforcatfood yeah there pretty good the only thing i don't like about them is that there big and clunky.

  • Comment removed

  • is the bayomount on the vx1s the same size as on the vx2s and vx21s?

  • @akokalela its smaller. the 1000 is 52mm where as the 2000 and 2100 are 58mm

  • @thepigpod okej, but the mk1s are 52mm, right?

  • @akokalela yeah sort of the bayo mount is designed to fit on 1000s its only the thread size thats 52mm

  • @thepigpod so you can fit a mk1 on a vx2/vx21 just by changing the bayo mount? i dont have to mess around with a bunch of step rings?

  • @akokalela well the point of a bayo mount is to eliminate the need for threaded rings. that lens will fit with a larger bayo ring or you can mod the original ring by filing it out.

  • u fucking rich ass cunt. a vx2, vx1/mk1 and i was makng better vids with a canon palmcorder. ps. stop strecthing standard def vids and calling them hd. especially on a vx1. youre gonna go to hell for that.

  • @EricFilms12 nope im still using them.

  • @EricFilms12 other one of what

  • me like alot! swag!

  • vx1ks ftw

  • What do you export/compress in? the quality is amazing

  • @JesperB79 do you use a mac? first i export it through quick time with the stock settings on fcp then i open that file in quicktime and export it again go to options and set everything as follows. compression:h.264, quality:best, key frame rate:30, frame recording:yes, encoding mode:multi-pass, dimensions:720x486(640x480). then make sure you de interlace the original video file. that should give you a high quality video file.

  • @thepigpod

Yes, I use a mac, thanks for the reply.

  • @Twizzyprods opteka maybe. ive never looked into a lens that would work with a set of cameras so far apart.

  • whats the ratio settings ?

  • @skimcty28 4:3

  • so dope

  • dude your rich...a mk1.. 2 vx's.. 2 trampolines! :o

  • @koryspiller dude im poor as fuck i just know how to save and be patient.

  • beautiful.

  • can i put a raynox fisheye on to a vx1000 with a couple of spacers????

  • @sid9571 yeah thats what i use to do a long time ago. you need a 52-58mm step up ring.

  • waht tape you use on vx1000

  • @EnjoyYourBreak panasonic or maxell. that vx1000 is picky all the other brands glitch out.

  • Does the MK1 fit the VX2000 without any modifications?

  • @hendersonskater you gotta file out the bayomount to get it on a vx2000

  • how much wuz that vx

  • @hdsk81 1100$ it was a mint fully refurbished one so it cost a little extra.

  • at 0:20 what is that lens thing on ur camera that u can screw off bcuz i dont know what that is

  • @Vi3tSk8r i think your talking about the lens hood. it doesn't screw on its bayomounted.

  • wat camra???

  • @gi81215 he used vx2000 to film the unboxing and the camera he used a fisheye on was sony vx1000/century mk1.

  • @filmforcatfood Ok thanks

  • Can you please give me the facts of the fisheye like angle of view and magnification thanks

  • @LIfbs i actually don't know that one. i checked the original box but it says nothing about that. i think the schneider site should have all the information you need on the mk1.

  • you honsetly have the nicest looking mk1 ive ever seen, the vig is percfect on every corner

  • @Phoen1xfilms15 check out my new video. i bought another vx1000 and the vig on that one is almost perfect center. the vx in this video has most of it on the bottom.

  • its humongous!!!!

  • how many vx have you got

  • @skater3251 well tomorrow its gonna be 3

  • @thepigpod have you got a job? if you do what is it?

    if thats alright.

  • @skater3251 not really. i worked with my dad for most of the money. for the vx2000 i did a bunch of little jobs it took 7 months to save for that. then for the vx1000 i built retaining walls for a lumber company. it took 4000 80lb blocks and 2 months to make the whole thing. i payed for the new vx1000 by building a massive patio and walkway it took a month to do that. i guess try to find a job at 10$ an hour thats how much my dad pays me.

  • @thepigpod guest you work pretty hard for those then :) nice videos keep it up:)

  • @skater3251 i almost forgot i did have a real job to pay for the mk1. i worked at zumiez for a few months. they rarely gave me any hours so it took forever.

  • @thepigpod i really really want 1 but i cant afford it at all:( but am lookin for a job so i can buy 1 tho :)

  • i think i just jizzed my pants

  • pretty much every day and its one of the best setups I've ever gotten my hands on.

  • @thepigpod how did you get that perfect vig?

  • @AlexGarrettComer do you mean the amount of vig or the position of the vig

  • @thepigpod position

  • @AlexGarrettComer ah ok well you really cant set the position of the vig on a vx1000. there all different since when they were made they didn't have the a lens as wide as the mk1 to worry about this issue which kind of sucks cause sometimes you get stuck with a really bad one. actually the vig on this 1000 isn't all that great there's allot on the bottom if you check my latest video i bought another vx1000 and the vig on this one is close to perfect.

  • @thepigpod Ok Thanks... I was just wondering cause I'm about to buy a Vx1k and Mk1...Merry Christmas...

  • are you sayin that on the vx1k you cant control the vig position? and is that amount of vig achieved with out any stepping rings?? i wana know of buying into thnks

  • @sk84acauze you cant control the the position of the vig. the 1000 was never really ment to have fisheyes this wide put on them they didn't make these lenses when the camera came out so vig position wasn't an issue. as for the amount of vig it depends on what lens you get. the one i got here you cant adjust the amount cause its bayo mounted. you can mess with the vig on threaded lenses.

  • @thepigpod whats the bayomount achieve?

  • @sk84acauze its a much simpler way of putting the lens on. instead of screwing the lens on which runs the risk of you cross threading the cameras plastic lens mount you just pop it on and twist it a quarter turn after that its fully mounted. its a lot faster too.

  • amazing set up! do you still use it? do you recommend it?

  • Damn you doing it big huh?

  • 2 vx1k's?

  • one vx1k and one vx2k. soon to be two vx1ks and a vx2k

  • @thepigpod why?

  • my 2000 is for night filming which isn't all that much but that 1000 has been used non stop for the last 3 years. it broke on me before, some minor glitches like audio visual stuff and 3 major ones. blew the microphone off loose ccd cables and the chip blew that distributes power to everything. ive fully ripped it apart and reassembled it multiple times. late august was its sixth tear down. although i got it working perfect again i want one that has way less hours and is virgin to skate filming.

  • @thepigpod ok.. how much would you sell your first vx1k for?

  • oh no i wouldn't sell it. there's kind of a sentimental value bringing that camera back from the dead so many times besides i want two for double vx1 angles and a back up on trips.

  • music?

  • i actually don't know. the title on my itunes is wrong its called fourtet under unknown artist on my list. it came bundled in a robots in disguise torrent my friend downloaded 4 years ago. if you find the actual name of this song that would be incredible cause at least 100 people have tried and come up with nothing.

  • Ya ive seen em before but usually got a scratch or something but ya you gotta sick setup. thanks for repling so fast...

    SUB? i subbed

  • yeah but actually last year i put 4 tiny scratches on it in the center slightly to the right. it was my fault. i was tying a line and a nollie inward heel got away from me and blasted the lens it could of been allot worse since you can only see them in direct bright light.

  • Trade vx2100/opteka death

Extras if you want em also

  • no way! id never trade my vx1000 mk1 and anyway i pretty much have the same setup as you only with a vx2000 as my back up. did you check ebay for people who want to trade. im looking to get a second vx1000 and ive come across a few sellers with an mk1 in the package that were looking for a 2100 set up.

  • perfect setup dude

  • bayo is better right?

  • its allot easier to mount and remove the lens with a bayo mount.

  • omg i want a vx soo bad thats so sick.

  • what do you use for a capture camera?

  • this little crappy jvc camera my cousin gave me.

  • damn, this fisheye cost double times more then i payd for the camera itself.

  • how many vxs you have?

  • well technically as of today i have 3 but the ass hole that sent the new vx1000 lied like a fiend and sent me the most wrecked vx1000 ive ever seen the damn thing didn't even turn on but im sending it back on monday and trying again.

  • @thepigpod do you have a vx2100

  • vx1000 and a vx2000

  • do you like the vx1000 better or the vx2000 or is that a 2100 you were filming with first?

  • 1000 all the way i love that camera and the other camera was a 2000.

  • @thepigpod sick im thinkin about getting a 1000, does the lack of a lcd screen make it worse or does it not matter?

  • it doesn't bother me at all i actually never use the one on the 2000 either. to me its easier with out it.

  • @ATMskateslow315 i have a vx1000 and the lcd not being there doesnt matter at all you should get it its a really nice camera

  • ok thanks man

  • oh but can you explain how to put videos on youtube through tapes im thinking of getting a vx

  • well your suppose to use a capture cam but it can be done with the vx. its simple just get a fire wire or ieee1394 cable there the same thing and just plug it into your computer. when you open the editing software it should recognize that there's something plugged in. go to file log capture and then a screen pops up that lets you control the camera then just search for the clips and hit capture. at least thats how it works on final cut pro.

  • after your video is done then you need to make a file that can be uploaded to youtube. i know how to make them on a mac but ive never tried on a pc. which one do you use.

  • @thepigpod pc but arent the tapes big like where do they go in the computer

  • ok imagine your vx is a vcr and your computer is a tv. you just put the camera on vtr which is the play back setting then plug your camera into the computer. the camera plays the tape. you need to buy a fire wire to do this cause vx's don't run on usb cables.

  • do you need tapes to put video's on youtube for the vx

  • yeah. the vx1000 is old its running on 16 years way before they had hard drive cameras. its allot better to record to tape anyway cause then you have a permanent archive of your footage.

  • i love this,it's short,simple,but such a sick edit

  • On the 1000 footage did you have spacers or is that just the lens' natural vig?!

  • thats all by its self and any way you cant use spacers on an mk1 there bayo mounted

  • i just got my vx2100. how do i import my video to my computer

  • open your editing software get a fire wire and plug it in. then file import footage at least thats how it is on my computer what editing software do you have.

  • @pmacsk8 i have moviemaker and adobe premiere pro cs 5

  • ive never used either of those programs but i have used a very early version of adobe premiere in high school and it was close to the same as final cut pro when it came to importing footage.

  • @ThrasheD95 you know what i mean, i say handycam as in just like your normal video cameras.

  • how do you get such amazing quality from your VX1000?

  • it all depends on what kind of file you make while exporting the video.

  • @thepigpod True, cause i see all these vids of skaters with VX's and it is all such shit quality :/

  • they might also have a shitty computer or bad editing software. i use a mac and final cut pro.

  • @thepigpod Yeh fair enough, i want to use my HDC-SD9 on my mac but it doesn't work for some reason...... :/ i am thinking of investing in a VX2100 or VX1000, but they aren't as good quality as my cam, but they feel better and are not just a handycam.

  • 8==D-------------

    thanks.....

  • mann you have two! i was just about to buy one but my money got stolen! i had 600$! have funn with those though

  • wow that sucks something like that happened to me recently. ive got a 72 roadrunner that needs an engine and i had money saved up for one and the day before i was going to buy it all my money got stolen. on top of that i started saving for that engine again but my vx1000 fried a few weeks ago so i got to put that money towards another one.

  • you got two vx's

  • yeah but the vx1000 recently broke im half way to another one.

  • omg i had a orgasm, this is an awesome camera! what camera do u recommend buying? (subbed to you)

  • i love the vx1000 its just so easy to film with. that vx1000 just blew out but im already half way to a new one.

  • you paid 750 for it.Brand new its 740 from b&h

  • mine was new from a camera store in new york as well definately not as huge as b&h but it did cost 740$ the extra 14$ was for shipping

  • Hands down, the sickest setup ever

  • i got a vx1000 and mk1 for 650 in mint condition

  • damn thats lucky ive gota start browsing for a new vx1000 mine shorted out the other day.

  • @thepigpod ahh hate to hear that man, yea i did get very lucky i got from a dance crew, pretty weird haha

  • thats pretty cool at least you know it wasn't used for skating before.

  • Getting my VX today and i can't wait! But do you have any reccomandations on cheaper fisheyes for the VX1000?

  • the opteka titanium series with a 52-58mm step up ring but trust me your eventually gonna wana invest in an mk1 there so much better.

  • @thepigpod Yeh man i might just get the MK1 then, and then at least i know i don't need to buy another fisheye for a while.

  • Comment removed

  • which camera do you recommend, sony vx1000 or panasonic dvx100a ? :)

  • thats a tuff one cause the footage from them is almost identical. the dvx has more features but the vx is easier to film with. id say vx but thats just because thats what i film with and i love the thing.

  • You probably already know this by now since this vid is a year old, but your'e supposed to twist the small back part of the lens with the first yellow dot til it stops moving THEN twist the front with the actual lens part it to tighten it. Anyways, sick setup, i used to have the same cam and lens, but i kinda stopped using it so i sold it to a friend.

  • thats what i did i just didn't grab the bayo mount when i twisted the lens cause since it was new it wasn't adjusted right so it was a little loose. when the cap was on i twisted the lens till it stopped then took the cap off and twisted it till it got tight. also did you get a new camera or you just got sick of filming.

  • @thepigpod Oh, ok. Just making sure because when i first got my lens i didnt line up the yellow dots or twist the back. I just twisted the lens part. Then my older friend noticed and was like, "Holy shit! that thing is gonna fall off." And told me how to put it on correctly haha. Close call. But, yeah, neither. All the people i used to skate with kinda stopped skating so i didnt really film anymore. I only used my camera for like a year or two, then it just sat in my closet for like a year.

  • that sucks i hate it when people quit its like killing a part of your self. its weird all the skaters are attracted to me cause im one of the only good filmers around here. its cool cause i end up meeting some awesome people and we end up being friends plus some times i make money off of it. i actually want to invest in another vx1000 cause the one i have now is used non stop and im afraid of it burning out on me.

  • @thepigpod Yeah, haha it was the same way with me. People kinda used me for my VX. It was cool though, because i just liked to skate. Also, isnt hard to find VX's now-a-days? I got mine off ebay. And when i got it the audio didnt even work. I had to take it and get it fixed by this one guy that mikemo told me about. It was 700 bucks to fix it, fuckin blows, but whatever my camera was pretty much brand new after that. The guy said my camera was the hardest 1 to fix out of all the ones hes gotten.

  • there still selling vxs like crazy every day on ebay there's at least 10 being sold. my cameras audio didn't work when i got it too. it was just dirty heads that took me like 10 minuets to fix. it actually broke on me last year i had to tear it completely apart twice to get it working again. i put up a video of me working on it called "how to fix a sony dcr vx1000". it fucking sucked!

  • @thepigpod Yeah my heads were fucked up. But, there must have also been other shit wrong with it since it took the guy a month to fix it and he fixes them a lot. Or used to. Yeah, i saw that vid i was gonna click on it but i saw something else and watched that haha. Ill watch it now.

  • how many cams you got?

  • two to film with and a little one to capture the footage to the computer.

  • @thepigpod vx1and vx2?

  • yup

  • i really want an mk1 its just way to steeep

  • old vx1000

  • never selling either.

  • sup w. the glitches

  • my cameras are weird. if you put the wrong brand of tape in them they glitch.

  • @thepigpod oh do you have the vx2k

  • yeah thats what this was filmed with. somethings wrong with it now so i don't use it.

  • @ohhh

  • i have a sony vx2000 but everytime i turn it on the viewfinder is all blue and fuzzy and my lcd is too.........i have already cleaned the heads and tried adjusting the viefinder at different angles...........do u think u have any tips 4 me

  • does it work when it plugged into the tv.

  • @thepigpod no sir i see the same thing i see throo the viewvinder and lcd

  • shit have you ever dropped it before cause that could mean a loose ccd cable or a cracked chip.

  • @thepigpod nope I got it off ebay and it came like that but I'm getting it fixed so yeah

  • are you selling ure old one

  • old one of what?

  • only pimps unbox like this

  • so i just got a new mk1 and it didnt seem to fit completely on my vx's bayo but i adjusted the alignment screw and it seems to fit well now, question is when you take off your mk is it very easy to turn and take off? or is there a decent amount of resistance, because my fisheye is on stable but i cant turn it and take it off easily.

  • there is some resistance but its not that hard to remove the lens i can do it with one hand.

  • @thepigpod i sent the lens back for a new one because no matter what i would do it was still loose on one of the vx's mounts. and my vx isnt damaged at all so i dont know what it could be. any ideas? the actual bayo ring just wont lock into place on all three of them.. helppp
