I followed this recipe but only had powered pectin. I completed the entire process, but now I just have mint syrup. It never set up. Can I salvage this by reheating, adding more pectin until it congeals, and then reprocess? ty
I am new to canning and loving it so far! Pickles and pepper relish canned, properly sealed and tasty! Looking for new recipes that uses stuff from my garden. I love your video and style...I was just wondering how long do you process the jars in the canner...TY, again great vid. :)
Also, all I have is powdered Sure-Jell. I'm going to try it, because that's what I've got. Any thoughts? Am I about to ruin the whole batch? I'll post back and let you know if it works, or not.
I found it useful. You should delete the comment from the dumb dumb eckankar. Why would anyone complain about a mint jelly video???? It's mint jelly! It's not politics or religion! Thanks for the video.
I thought this was a great video, I have a very similar recipe and it really helps for me to see what to do (I guess I am a visual learner). I will try to make some mint jelly soon. Thanks
This extremely fancy restaurant in my town has this and the one time I went there this was the only thing I really liked, now I can open my own competing restaurant or just make this jelly myself, whichever :D
Mint Jelly is traditionally eaten with lamb, but some people I know like eating it with vanilla ice cream or on their waffles/ pancakes. It just depends on your taste. Be creative! :)
It's good on most red meat including game like deer and pheasant. Just think of pairing it with anything really deep and savory because it's really bright and sweet at the same time.

How many jars (and what size jars do you use?) does this make? Is it one small batch at a time?

I found that really relaxing to watch and enjoyed the music too. Very grateful to you for taking the time to share your knowledge with us.
(cant believe the rudeness of the person below but you replied gracefully)

I wouldn't place the hot jars on the counter after processing. If the counter is cold the jars might break! Aside from that, great video!

I am going to try making this jelly.
Very informative video!
Thanks for posting!
Ps. I find that the back ground music is a little to loud, it makes hearing what you say a bit difficult at times.

Thank you!
Actually, I wasn't talking while the music was playing in this video... Maybe you mean in another vid :)
