Look, I know both parties are bad in this regard, but the Democrats do seem to be significantly worse. Between the two parties, the Dems clearly want more power in general. This, by definition, is 'bigger government', and the since gov doesn't make money, taxing is the only way to implement their power's ends.

Reagan was half right. When he lowered taxes, the economy boomed. But when you lower taxes, you have to cut spending. Spending has been out of control ever since. Each president has out-spent the one before him. Looks like the trend is going to continue.

yeah and the federal reserve is a joke. It is they who are causing our massive debt TRILLIONS. The US dollar is worth LESS then Canada's $. The US Dollar is worth only .4 cents. The debt is the result of the Federal Reserve printing "invisible" money. They print more money than they have in the vaults.  Get rid of them and restore the power to print money to the people. This is of course what the CONSTITUTION says, why is no one following it anymore? What happened?

Defense spending was reagan's primary goal. The other spending was a result of Reagan's bargain with Congress--in order for them to pass his massive tax cuts, he needed to do some spending for their programs in return. He wasn't left with a choice.

Here is a civics lesson: congress makes the laws, guess who has been in control of congress for most of the past 50 years?
