Hi I'm Paul. I make gear sound like shit because i turn every EQ nob to 10 and use a lot of reverb and delay. Because no reverb and delay=shitty tone!
I have the Eleven Rack and took to a Music Producer here in FL who has every amp, pedal, cabinet that players and collectors are searching for in his private warehouse. We set up his API console with G4 MAC Pro-Tools HD, you name it we put it against the Eleven Rack.... The Eleven Rack either sounded exactly like the gear, or better... so for $800 you have 4 decades worth of gear in one box AND works with the leading DAW on the market. Best Investment I made :)
ohh I almost forgot, the 11R is ALSO an audio interface for PT and Logic, while the axe fx is not, so, besides you have to pay like 2K for the Axe Fx, you also need an interface, and all those midi cables, and they are not exactly cheap. Also the Axe Fx is way harder to program because it's so complex! IMO the 11R is more user friendly. I'm not an 11R fanboy, both units are great, I think is just a matter of what you are going to use the unit for.
I honestly don´t think that the axe fx is waaaay better as everybody says, it's more complete, yes, but maybe it targets different users, i don't need all those complex harmonizers, and stereo delays and all of that stuff that the axe fx do, in terms of sound quality both units sound awesome, also, the amp models, maybe some of us don't need 100 amp models as in the axe fx, i'm well served with 12 good ones. I would buy the 11R without doubt, besides is almost half the price of the axe fx...
@hawg427 If this thing runs anything like the more expensive Axe-Fx unit, which is basically the same thing, you will need to run this into a power-amp into the cab.
It's a really nice system. Pretty affordable too. Quiet honestly I just purchased my Fractal Audio Axe-Fx Ultra. If you can't afford that go for this.... The only main thing is the Axe does a lot more than the Eleven Rack it just depends whether you want that "More" or not. Both are great interfaces. To be honest I love my Axe Fx Ultra. There is a lot more in it :D but I guess any guitar player would be happy by owing this or that :) depends what your goals are.
does that thing compare to other modeler like POD XT , VYPYR , V-AMP etc.. im tired of digital modelling cause i think they dont sound good at all . i had line 6 spide r, pod , peavey vypyr 30 and they all sound like 200 $ unit . nothing "profesionnal"
You need to start dialing out the high-end fizz in your sample vids man. The demo of the Axe-fx was the same, wayyy too much high end on all your patches. Nice playing though.
@cabrasguitar That's how they sound though out of the box. The presets on both are terrible. They use hollowbody guitars when they make the presets or electric/acoustic guitars or something lol. I don't think any of the Line 6/Eleven Rack/Axe FX really start to sound good until you start using overdrive pedals and real preamps and compressors. Hopefully the new upgrade makes the Eleven Rack more appealing like the Axe FX updates and POD HD. Digitech GSP1101 should be in there somewhere too.

also, i don't know what times you're living in, but it's not actually that hard to "haul" a laptop anywhere. considerably easier than an amp/fx rack in fact.
professionals who use guitars with software to good effect in a live setting: depeche mode, radiohead, nicenice... off the top of my head.
vaisatchatrucci your vids are mostly better than any axe-fx clips. The axe-fx is surely more complete in some aspects (enough to justify it as a "better" product) but better in sound quality for certain sounds it isn't. Your roadking video and some others with recto plexi and mark II lead sounds far eclipse the axe-fx to my liking. Still cliff is an inovative person that supports his product 24 hours a day. Perhaps with the new firmware the axe-fx can become even better

I own the Eleven Rack and I agree the Axe Fx is more versatile and sounds better. However in Australia the 11R costs $1,195 (incl. shipping) for that you get an interface and Pro Tools LE (for virtual instruments) - so you can start composing real songs. Or, you can go for the Axe FX for $3,299 (excl shipping) and have a real nice piece of rack hardware.
Eesh idk. It sounds like every other cheap digital pedal out there just all put in to one unit. Im sure it sounds fine under certain circumstances but it isn't quite for me :-)

@jskim1 You cant go by the presets on this unit like many others they are lacking. Get in create your own and it kills. Line6 dropped the ball long ago when it comes to modeling all they are doing is repackaging the same stuff over and over. Companies like Digidesign/Avid, Fractal with te Axe Fx and Digitech with the GSP1101 and RP1000 units are pusing the tech alot farther than L6 at this point. Line 6 is more content to focus on the Spider line than anything new
@jskim1 The Line 6 is good, but this thing is KILLER. The zero latentcy and tone manipulation is second to none. When you dial in, say a '68 Plexi tone, you actually feel like your playing thru the amp! It's not just sound, it moves air like a real one. If you can't get a killer tone you want, then you don't know what you really do want, cause this thing will create it.

I run the eleven rack thru the effects loop and my tone IMPROVED, which I didn't think possible. I am old school, and a tough musician to please. I resist the urge to use something unproven, but this has made a believer out of me. And Pro Tools is what every musician dreams of having. Agrument over, I win.

@OneTimer1127 Alright. Understood. You have to understand though that what you hear on this video is affected by two things.
1: The recording is done with a boom mic not a mic at the amp. The reason for doing this is so that you can hear what the amp sounds like in a room. It gives you the most natural sound instead of close micing which people might mistake for being processed.
2: The room itself is not treated acoustically. It is a very "Live" sounding room.
Do a search for eleven. Avid has a lot more vids. Try Luna's Dream. It's all about the user. You can't judge based on presets. A tweaker will always squeeze more out of a box than it shipped with.

You make this sound cool and make the Axe-fx sound like horsepoop when the Axe-fx is such a better unit. Something tells me Digidesign paid money that Fractal audio didn't and therefore this demo is a lot better.
To everyone watching this: Check out the Axe-fx instead. It's a shitload better.

I own the Eleven Rack and I agree the Axe Fx is more versatile and sounds better. However in Australia the 11R costs $1,195 (incl. shipping) for that you get an interface and Pro Tools LE (for virtual instruments) - so you can start composing real songs. Or, you can go for the Axe FX for $3,299 (excl shipping) and have a real nice piece of rack hardware.

Eesh idk. It sounds like every other cheap digital pedal out there just all put in to one unit. Im sure it sounds fine under certain circumstances but it isn't quite for me :-)

@jskim1 You cant go by the presets on this unit like many others they are lacking. Get in create your own and it kills. Line6 dropped the ball long ago when it comes to modeling all they are doing is repackaging the same stuff over and over. Companies like Digidesign/Avid, Fractal with te Axe Fx and Digitech with the GSP1101 and RP1000 units are pusing the tech alot farther than L6 at this point. Line 6 is more content to focus on the Spider line than anything new

@jskim1 The Line 6 is good, but this thing is KILLER. The zero latentcy and tone manipulation is second to none. When you dial in, say a '68 Plexi tone, you actually feel like your playing thru the amp! It's not just sound, it moves air like a real one. If you can't get a killer tone you want, then you don't know what you really do want, cause this thing will create it.

@OneTimer1127 Why do you say that? I'm using a Gibson Les Paul Custom into a Mesa Roadster 212. That combo right there is as good as tone gets, my friend. I run the eleven rack thru the effects loop and my tone IMPROVED, which I didn't think possible. I am old school, and a tough musician to please. I resist the urge to use something unproven, but this has made a believer out of me. And Pro Tools is what every musician dreams of having. Agrument over, I win.

@OneTimer1127 Just means that you are not accustomed to single coil pickups. Nor did you listen to the entire thing. You're looking for drop C tones. They are there. He's playing with the tones that work with this single coil equipped Stratocaster. There is more tone out there than you have heard. Some of us have been playing longer than you've been alive. So, we've heard more and our ears are more attuned. Like it or not. It's the truth. This box sounds very good.

@hueseph lol, You hit the nail right on the head. Especially considering I play a Strat through a Blue Jr. I love dem drop C tones. No, to be honest, either Paul looooves his treble and really doesn't like his bass, or the tone on this is way to frail for me. And I really couldn't care less as to how old you are. There is no absolute truth in anything we're speaking of here, so stop acting as if there is. We're all equal on the internet, so quit trying to pull your age superiority bullshit

@OneTimer1127 Alright. Understood. You have to understand though that what you hear on this video is affected by two things.
1: The recording is done with a boom mic not a mic at the amp. The reason for doing this is so that you can hear what the amp sounds like in a room. It gives you the most natural sound instead of close micing which people might mistake for being processed.
2: The room itself is not treated acoustically. It is a very "Live" sounding room.

Do a search for eleven. Avid has a lot more vids. Try Luna's Dream. It's all about the user. You can't judge based on presets. A tweaker will always squeeze more out of a box than it shipped with.
