I'm going to school right now and plan to go to Korea after I graduate! I'm happy to find your videos! Do you teach at a Hagwon or Public school? What recruiter did you go through? I hear GEPIK is great!
I really envy native english speakers. I'm not one, so i practically have like 0% of chances to work there as an english teacher. Kinda sad, huh. But well i'm not even 18 yet, so i guess i have many time to choose what i want to do in the future. Although i want to live in Korea. Maybe language translator? ^^
Oooh, someone who has recently gone to Korea to teach! Awesome! I'm thinking of teaching in Korea as well. Did you have teaching experience before you go there? I have no experience, so I'm kind of scared to go.
So glad i found your videos! I'm leaving for Korea on Tues and wanted to view how recent new teachers' experience is going. I'm really hesitant about teaching at my school. They informed me I'd work 7-9 classes 3 days out of the week and 2 shorter days. So, we'll see how that goes!
Hey, good luck! Just be flexible and open-minded and know that, especially in the beginning, there will be some ups and downs. where in Korea are you going?
@torimelodic223 You don't need a lot of things just the right 'things'. Just google Korean teaching jobs visa requierments and that should answer your question.
This is good detailed vlog and i hope you make a lot more! I'm guessing you work for a private school and not through the EPIK programme? I'm thinking of doing the same thing next year but im gonna go through Epik cos ive heard too many bad things about working for a private school/ hagwon!
@shaunie200 I've heard good things about EPIK as well. There are several differences and pros/cons between private and public schools. The salary is pretty set for public s. jobs and the hours are 'regular' day hours where in private s if you have the right credentials you could make nearly double with working slightly less hours and perhaps a different schedule. It really depends on you personally. I also like private because you're not constantly working with another korean teacher. good luck!

Also, can I ask what recruiter/company you came to Korea through? I think I might want to avoid them, ahaha.

Good luck down there! You're lucky you're so close to Busan. Nothing like the south of South Korea :P
