I miss the Zidane-Makalele-Carlos Trio. But Ozil is actually doing the same thing with Madrid right now. He pulls the strings and stuff but some of RM players don't pass him the ball a lot for some reason. When you let Ozil control the pitch, he does magic my friend he does magic indeed!

This was one Zidane's best games in a Madrid shirt. The fluidity and the array of skill's was as good as I have ever seen in any of his games. All this as he was pushing 32 at the time.

I remember this game well.. Think it was the second half, Madrid shooting the other end and they kept the ball for at least 5 mins and we didn't touch it once.. They didn't often play as well as you think looking at the side on paper but they didn't dissappoint for this match and tie. It was a brilliant European tie.

Just shows how much football has changed even since this rather recent match.

You often see people standing off and waiting, letting the other team keep possession in this game. Nowadays, these players would be closed down in the blink of an eye.

Nevertheless, Zidane was a great player, perhaps the greatest of his time.
