  • at least she didnt scream during frank's solo

  • I like both of these men very much. But the two of them were just too different; I don't think their music had anything in common. Maybe some of the blues aspects. Yoko is a charlatan, not unlike another of Lennon's friends - Magic Alex. Lennon was blind to it, but his naivete was endearing.

  • Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Yoko.

  • Frank, John, and their monkey

  • Il genio di Frank non si discute. E neppure quello di Lennon. Ma la Ono è veramente in questo contesto, una piaga storica. Perchè non l'hanno mandata a giocare a moscacieca sull'autostrada???

  • Somebody tell that talentless bitch to shut up while the keys are soloing!!

  • Was that a cat caught in Frank's guitar?

  • Is there a way we could mix Yoko out of this song. Everything sounds great, aside from the dolphin talk.

  • he hadv to turn his amp up b/c of that asian whore

  • John Lennon with MOI, cool jam, only Yoko is really a little too squeekey...

  • when is the moment that zappa shows his finger at yoko?

  • i love how this song is like about love and shit and this is wat frank zappa makes fun of and then he just comes in and shredes like fuckin crzy

  • John Lennon was the piece of shit that ruined this show. Yoko's only flaw was being too creative for the majority of the population to understand.

  • @Robman803 yeah right, what art school did you get brainwashed at?

thats the opinion of like 0.0001 % of all people living popular culture around the globe. but hey, fair play to you, keep up your thoughtfullness.

  • @jjj13031984 Thanks. Honestly, I've never been to an art school, and I don't really like most of the people I've met that have been to one. I just made the comment in reference to John's pretty much stealing the show as his own, and even though I'm not really a fan of Yoko, I like how she is still her unique self without question, no matter how much everyone hates her for it.

  • @Robman803

    Successful troll is successful.

    Take your bows.

  • @acronus lol, is it still trolling if it's actually my honest opinion? Thanks, in any case.

  • @Robman803

"Yoko's only flaw was being too creative for the majority of the population to understand."

Actually, her flaw is that she caterwauls over an otherwise good song. I don't consider screaming like a rape victim to be creative at all.

Yay for thinking outside the box and all, and I know it's pointless to argue taste, but what makes you think she was just being too creative?

  • @Robman803 creative doenst mean good or artistic, it could mean crappy and thoughtless as well.

  • I do not understand how the fuck Frank didn´t stop this show and put a bullet in Yoko´s Head. Frank Zappa is one of the most important musicians we´d had. He deserved more RESPECT than this fucked-up woman squealing like a pig

the arangement was that both parts will have access to the recording. Joko and Lennon released an album called Some Time in New York. they changed the name of a Zappa´s song (King Kong) and they called it Jamrag appearing John and Joko as authors of that song.

    R.I.P FZ

  • My question: why would Frank agree to play with these two?

  • @spoon149 Well John's great, but Yoko... That's another story.

  • @spoon149 'cause Jonh is awesome, even for a sceptical man like Zappa

  • I wan't to kill yoko b/c of this, oh and her feminist activism

  • The song is great, but Yoko just had to make her tortured cat noises!

  • Just made a Yoko fan out of me!

  • Without Yoko, this is just an average blues jam. Yoko provides all the edge and artistic legitimacy.

  • @mississippisteve This would be a good, above average piece of blues music without her. the reason it sounds average is she is drowning out the musical subtleties of the rest of the band. if this was a crunchy prog rock piece that was intended to be hard to listen to than that would be brilliant. However, she is making this piece impossible, painful, and embarrassing to listen too.

  • even john is looking at her like.... who is this crazy bitch

  • was this like a thing with her? is that normal for any human being!

  • Yoko Ono has , was and still is a very delusional person. Her delusion is; her belief that she has any semblance of any talent. What is even more upsetting and unfortunate, was John Lennon's extremely low self esteem, manifested by any artistic involvement with Mrs. Lennon. Musically, Lennon was out of his league playing with Frank and The Mothers.

  • Yoko is awesome

  • i think Frank want to kill her with his guitar..

  • Brilliant! and Yoko, way be sure she is hillarious and adds the freaky Zappa style to the song!

  • yoko shit ono

  • Come on people, yoko is fucking hilarious.

  • FUCK YOU

  • YOKO - EXTRA ADDED ATTRACTION, GREAT PERIOD PIECE!

  • Oh John Oh John ....How could you let this woman destroy your performance? For a lot less you would have the torn apart the face of anybody messing with your singing ... Why did you have to pick this woman as your partner and fuck off so much genius work? Oh John Oh John

  • dear yoko, please die

  • leave that fucking stage lennon and take with you that fucking screaming mouse.

    yoko, you suck!

  • HA last comment she sounds like a dying cat! or lamb! oman lol

  • ok I officially dont like yoko. I am suprised Zappa let them play. Its said that no one could take drugs on the road while playin in Zappas band. An im sure John an yoko were high as hell.

  • she ruins a fantastic song ... .. man he must have loved her to get up on stage with that talentless hag

  • imagine theres no Yoko

    its easy if you try

    no stupid squeeling whore

that makes you want to die

Imagine lennon and zappa, jamming for today

  • The verion of this song that came out on "Some Time in NY City" album had Yoko' voice turned down a bit... thank god

  • The birthplace of the kazoo

  • Yoko sings like an eagle! She really wasted this song

  • I saw this video because a friend was trying to prove me that Yoko was a great artist.

I really don't understand him. He thought that this clip would make his point.

  • O-NO!

  • I was there, and yes , it really sucked that yoko showed up. at least we got "the white album with the pencil on the front." her art show in syracuse, ny, "this is not here" a few months later was just as lame.

  • I fucking love this!

  • Comment removed

  • was yoko sick? XD

  • Thank you thank you thank you!!! This was amazing!!!!

  • Really, seriously, I feel like i am trying to listen to a song that I like WHILE MY BABY one year old DAUGHTER IS SCREAMING in my ear. Kinda of painfull and makes me thinks she needs to be wiped or something, I dont know. I heard Zappa got screwed out the recordings of this concert.

  • In this case, Yoko's performance is the only thing remotely interesting or original. Completely bored by Lennon's blues.

  • two genius and a nasty overrated idiot. so come on i dont really care if she was the wife of lennon, YOKO ONO IS AN ASSHOLE N SHE SUCKS!

  • I love this version. I wish someone could post it with Yodo edited out...

  • Yoko Ono.....music's answer to a question nobody asked

  • lennon felt atracted to his little mistical creature from asia haha ,,,

  • fuken yoko i hate her singing poor zappa , great lennon great zappa yoko is shit

  • Funny thing is both John and Frank dug what Yoko did and you haters are waaaaaay behind. LOL

  • that lamb took long enough to die didn't it? it's cruel. I always thought the slaughtering was a quick and painless thing. that went on for 10 minutes. poor thing. must have been a kid on work experience.

  • Comment removed

  • This is a fantastic jam and John sounds just incredible, but for that ASSHOLE Yoko, man.

  • dolphin mating noices

  • oh man.....this Yoko sucks......

  • I was watching this on Dangerous Minds and clicked through to here to see if anyone else thought that Yoko's musical thoughts were a little unnecessary. Glad to see I'm not alone. i did have to stop listening at 7:30, unfortunately. Can anyone edit out her voice? Everything else is just fucking fantastic.

  • open your ears! and your mind!

  • Man alive, she is annoying here.

  • I love Zappa and Beatles (but not much John solo career). Although this is a historical encounter I had to give a thumbs down to it. Yoko anywhere is no good.

  • Yoko...Oh no!

  • I wonder what was going though Frank's head as he heard the playback?

  • 2.- Imagine yoko having an orgasm

  • Even yoko's voice was to Avan-garde for Zappa

  • I dont mind Yoko the man loved her, but God should never have given her vocal chords. she sounds like a cat being skinned.

  • yoko cacareja

  • seriously, does anyone know where I can hear this without yoko on it? I just can´t ignore her pointless squealing

  • @bluesmanguate lol, we share the same feeling. I like this song, but everytime I want to listen to it, I'm force to listen to that beautiful Yoko's performance.

  • yoko shut up !

  • Why couldn't a sound engineer there "accidentally" unplug Yoko's mic?

If there was musical justice, a huge tomato would have nailed Yoko in the face early and save the song.

  • No Ono, no, oh no, no, no Ono, NO!

  • seen Frank four times...

  • SHUT UP YOKO!!!! and I love John and George and the other two...

  • Like nails on a freaking chalkboard... O No!!!!

  • Ive heard this exact cut on various compilations where her voice is edited out..sounds much better...lol

  • 2 people are out of their fucking minds.

  • Did Yoko burped at the end?

  • i just cant take yoko's contribution.....my fucking ears are bleeding. too bad because the song kicks ass.

  • who ever put this up on youtube knows who stole it from frank, but thanks for puting it on

  • yoko has no musical ability whatsoever

  • I am surprised that this didn't kill john lennon

  • One of my favorite live albums was recorded this night.

  • John and Frank would've made a helluva record together.

  • @jekk23 They did. Look into "Some Time In New York City" and "We're Only In It For The Money."

  • How beautiful if the audience, when the japanese woman started screeching, had run for the exit.

  • wow. she... was annoying.

  • What the FuCK is Yoko doing???

  • The audio is great! John's guitar sounds so great and Yoko's voice isnt as loud as in the album.

  • Where did you find a fucking COLOR copy of this show? And with such great audio! All I can find is a fuckin' cheap ass down and dirty scratchy audio barely legible black and white video. I'd give my left nut for a copy of THIS version of the concert.

  • What a fucking presumptuous bitch for intruding on one of Frank's songs after being invited on stage. Also, someone put a shirt on Mark!

  • @bassman619 Not a Frank song this is an old blues tune from the 50's. Great Zappa solo, but what the fuck is with the screetching banshie.

  • What a fucking presumptuous bitch for intruding on one of Frank's songs after being invited on stage.

  • 5:15 was horrid

  • I feel sorry for the people tripping that night

  • when any of you say shit about yoko you show how truly fucking stupid you are

  • Ono's voice is so disruptive. I'd rather to listen Zappa's guitar behind with more volume.

  • y didnt some1 do the world a favour by shooting yoko instead of john

  • i dont know... i kinda like it . she was nutty as hell in her own way , but i like her too . she brought something to the table in this song . a big bowl of japanese crazy noodles in kitty strangle sauce .

  • Hey Yoko, stick to what you do best... whatever the hell that is.

  • Everybody's a critic. If you don't like it go listen to your bubblegum.

  • What the fuck is this???

  • @marcelojcsilva

Three highly eccentric geniuses doing their thing.

  • if i was in the crowd i would of reached up and pulled her mic down. and im sure frank and the band wouldn't of done a fucking thing

  • fuck me. Incredible

  • un capolavoro di concerto rovinato da una nipponica pazza e imbarazzante

  • Holy shit!! Yoko is horrible in every fuckin' way!

  • zappa's solo is awesome. By the way, I cannnot understand what yoko wanted to express. Her voice sounds noisy.

  • shoot me....Soundman should have unplugged her mic

  • A bass player once said...... Its not that we hate Yoko.. we just dont love her'

  • Yoko is just way ahead of her time and everybody elses

  • @gbtayc yes, she's already in the apocalypse.

  • Get Back, Joko!!!

  • man...she is the pitts- its a miracle paul/george and ringo put up with her as long as they did.

  • I wish someone would take this footage and hook it up to the audio from "Sometime in New York City" instead of what's on this...anyone?

  • God, I wish I hadn't missed this back in the day… fucking incredible!

  • John's love for Yoko (and for her voice as well) is the most romantic thing I can think of.

  • ono looks like a freakin alien, and what are those awful sounds that she makes

  • @Arditizationism Real Broadway Entertainment!!!

  • Well, i'll take my cues from ppl like John Lennon, who LOVED yoko, and Frank Zappa, who was close friends with her for years before, and after, John's death, over any of the detractors here.

  • @bckm54

i can agree that "love is blind" and i guess its cool that John let Yoko contribute etc..

but dont make up lies about the maestro and say that he was "close friends" in anyway with yoko. john and yoko credited themselves with this performance on "Sometime in New York" and Zappa essentially had to sue Capitol records to get his just credit.

listen to the Playground Psychotics version where you clearly hear Flo and Eddie singing "yoko is a scumbag, put her in a scumbag"

  • @azzurrirugby Sorry, but you're wrong. Onon and Zappa WERE close friends. As a fan of both, I've followed them throughout the years and I have read pieces where they both indicate that. And as for "scumbag", that was a song that they all did - the song title was "scumbag".

If you hate Yoko, you'll look for justifications of your hate. You'll find plenty of criticism about her, that's for sure, but it did not come from Zappa. Don't know about Flo & Eddie, but what I said was true.

  • @bckm54 maybe I'm wrong, too, but I've read —and heard—that Zappa and John/Yoko wasn't "close" friends, or even friends, at all. I'm a Zappa fan and Lennon music never filled me as Zappa's did, but anyway, anybody with ears can hear that Yoko performing is... poor, to be sincere.

  • @bckm54

this is months later obviously but i'm sorry this is just wrong. i've followed the maestro almost religiously for decades now. you say you've read that Ono and FZ were friends? where? the FACTS are that Zappa had to sue Capitol records to get his just credit from "Sometime In New York", Lennon and Ono graffitti'ed and editted his liner notes for their album and they also called FZ 's "King Kong" their own "Live Jam". if you've read different please share. again those are just facts.

  • @azzurrirugby First, azz, your message was really nice, and polite, and it's nice that some people (you) can disagree but not be a prick about it. Thank you.

Second, they both said so, in separate interviews. Unfortunately, I don't remember which ones; as you can imagine, they both gave lots of interviews over the years.

Third, I asked Yoko. Granted, I didn't use the word "close" - I just asked her if they were friends and she said "yes".

Thanks again for your classy post. :)

  • She must have been amazing in bed for him to put up with that horeshit

  • @originalbunkman

that and even more importantly ..like most cunning women..she knew how to master manipulate him...and separate him from his friends/family, etc....

she turned him into a housewife

  • @ChiroQuacker Yeah, I had a woman do the same thing to me and I ain't famous!

  • @originalbunkman LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @originalbunkman Both her and her girlfriend Listen to "Come together"

  • Great. Except for ono killing cats on stage. I guess she just got hungry hahaha.

  • it was June 6th 1971 ....not 5th......I was there!

  • @monrovia Really, unbelievable! tell us more!!!

  • @monrovia Wooow!! I´ve heard something about that day: Is it true that one Zappa´s guy put a bag on the Yoko´s head??

  • @monrovia This matters to no one but you

  • Yoko sounds like a Fisher Price saxophone...

And what is she doing with a bullet belt? Aren't she pro peace?

  • @SpiritualFraud She was making a statement, MAAAAAAAN! ;)
