i was eating breakfast before school, 5th friggin grade and my mom was crying trying to get ahold of my cousin who works at american airlines... he was ok but still that day was horrible.
I was in 8th grade history class when my teacher flew into the room and slammed the door shut. He NEVER acted like that, ever. We all immediately knew something was wrong. He told us what had happened and I was in shock. I admittedly didn't know what the WTC was, but after that moment, I will never forget. I spent the rest of that whole day, and even some days afterward, watching the news, and the footage, and I even built a website to keep my friends and family up to date on what was happening.
It was so surreal. My husband woke me up. I started watching about 10 minutes before the second plane hit too. We were glued to the TV the whole day, we even forgot to eat. Watching the second plane hit and feeling that helplessness I think we all felt watching those poor people suffer so tremendously before they died was something you'll never forget.
i was in second grade, we were all doing an art project, then one by one kids parents started picking everyone up from school, i guess cause i live on long island, then my dad picked me up and i was confused as shit as to what was going on and when we got home he put on the news and i was like damn thats some fucked up shit
i was visiting my 10 day old daughter in nicu 40 miles away from wtc when the first plane hit. i saw our hospital go into panic making room for any survivors. also a old friend of mine was running out of the first tower when debris hit her which she lost almost all of her limbs. she survived until thanksgiving before she passed away. i was never so scared before in my life. RIP Tina we miss you. WE WILL REMEMBER!!!!!
@sgtsahara This literally has me in tears. I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you, and to everyone who was lost and everyone who lost a loved one that day. We will always remember you. R.I.P.
I was in the 8th grade about 15 minutes into history class at the beginning of the day and one kid who ALWAYS came in late anyway was like way late that day and when he came in his excuse was because he was watching the news with his dad and a plane had hit the WTC. I'll be honest I didn't even know what the WTC was but believe me being in a history class we all knew what it was before the day was over. Once one teacher heard about it they rigged up every tv in the school to play the news allday
I was living in a 11 x12 shack ,i had the tv on and this pictures of planes hitting the towers ,i watch enough to freak out on and went in town to tell all my friends the terrible news that the US was attacked and how it was gonna change the world ,i remember being scared, sad, and so present ,ya so present ,so marked by the moment ,still am.
My brother & I were driving between jobs listening 2 Howard Stern, Then he reported that 1 of the World Trade Center towers was struck by a plane, I think most people at that time thought it was an accident. Then we stopped at a local TV & Appliance store & watched some of it on all the TV's they had. Then as we were watching Live another plane flew right into the South Tower. Then we knew this wasn't an accident. The Pentagon was also hit & a plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania as well
I had just graduated from High School and was taking a semester off. I was in the bed when my dad called and told me to turn on the tv. As soon as I turned it on, I saw the 2nd plane hit. Couldn't believe what was happening.
i just got home from work and i got my new pc in the mail....so i fucked with it all day and didnt go online with it....i slept till 10 pm and i woke up to go to work and my ex told me what happened and i thought she was lying...i drove 30 miles to work...no cars on the road, work was closed when i got there...the 30 mile drive back was the same...i saw 1 cop....and gas wenr from 97 cents to 5 bucks a fucking gallon...i got home and watched it on tv and freaked...it was 9/12 by then
I was in school, got home and by random I flicked the TV on and the first I saw was news and planes flying into buildings and I was rather shocked, and Im not even american but I guess you dont have to be american to feel sympathy...
i was in the shower, getting ready to go to school. had just started fifth grade, 7 days in, and my mom came and ripped me out of the shower and told me that we were being bombed, which scared the shit out of me, and i went running outside, (still naked) thinking everything was blown up around my house and crap, but then she told me, not here, new york, the world trade center, which i had never heard of, so i was like whatever til she let me know how important those two buildings were to america
I was off work that morning and still laying in bed listening to my favorite morning radio talk show when they mentioned that something was going on in New York and to turn on a TV if possible which I did. I was watching for maybe 20 minutes when I saw the second plane hit live and remember jumping up out of bed and saying, "OH SHIT!" and think I heard the guy on the radio say it too. They usually talk about funny stuff but changed their format to cover the 9/11 story. I thought it was WWIII.
I worked the midnight shift at the airport at the time, we had gotten home in the morning and watching tv, saw just after the first plane hit, then watched ALL day long until going back in to work that night.
about the little explosions. On tv they said that it was the air being forced out from the windows which broke when it happend but it could have been explosions but know on really knows.
I was just waking up and had my radio on next to my bed and they were talking about it so I turned on the TV and lo and behold it was on almost every channel. scary stuff. what also sucks is that I've never been there in my life and now it's gone.
I was in grade 5 at the time, our teacher was just starting our morning routine when the principal came into our room and took our teacher outside the room. We listened to the radio for probably an hour or 2 before class was called off for the day and we were sent home. This is coming from a canadian, still had a big impact up here.
i waz in 5th grade and my teacher waz cryin and thene everyone waz runnin in and out of the classroom and school but r principle never did anything like litten u out for it it waz tarobale
senior year in high school, sitting in math class with Mr. bombreeze.. he woke me up and said i might need to watch history in the making... shut our whole school down for the rest of the week. no work, no nothing other than watch CNN and other news channels. school board director and principle came over the PA system and ordered us to watch CNN and to stop all class assignments until further notice.
I was a freshman in high school. Second period Mr. Hoover's world history class. He was 10 minutes late to class which wasn't unusual for that old bastard. He rushed into the class and turned on an old tv and said "your going to remember this moment forever, just like I remember where I was when Kennedy was shot"
I was out in NY visiting my g/f.About 90 miles from the city.It was a scary few days after that. One thing we noticed were the commuter parking lots near the train station and the cars that never moved. Those ppl were killed,Kind of a erie feeling going by there...
I was in in 8th grade social studies class. We stopped and for the rest of the school day we just watched it on t.v. lots of parents were checking kids out for fear that a terrorist attack would happen near our school...I live near Oak Ridge, TN the place that made a good deal of the first atomic weapons and made the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima.
I was at the convention center in Atlanta with a good friend and abt 500 ppl watching a network presentation on, of all things, disaster recovery. They made the announcement but everyone thought it was part of the presentation, until a lady ran up to the mic and said this is for real, please go check on your loved ones. We went across to CNN center and it was already sealed, guards wouldn't let anyone near it, not even to watch the news on their big TVs.
Ill never forget...I was on piney plains road in Raleigh N.C working for Thompson contracting (local grading contractor here) loading dumptrucks with a Komatsu 220-6 on the shoulder of the road. The hoe had a radio in it, and me and all the truck drivers gathered around radios and listened...with sadness, fear, and disgust. ...and kinda funny how all the gold in the one tower ended up under bldg 5 completely intact with a bunch of escort cars waiting there...empty????
3rd grade. they made an announcement and said we couldant go outside for recess. i was pissed. they dint tell us anything. then my mom picked me up and told me. i dint believe it till i saw it on the news.
i just got back from caseys's (gas station/store) with a couple slices of breakfast pizza, cherry coke and gas getting ready to mow 3 yards that day.sitting there watching tv and saw the whole thing from the beginning....it definitely didn't feel real.
I watched it from my english class... I am from NYC and was High school at the time.. My school was in Astoria NY at the top of a hill which was in direct sight of the nyc skyline and the twin towers... My english teacher's fiance was in the towers... he didn't come out... not a good day
It was the most surreal day I have ever had. I had been at work most of the day. I had classes but I needed the money and we were making a proposal for Playboy in Scandinavia, so I skipped a day, and had I not done that I would not have seen the second plane hit. Strange thing. Some hours after launch I got a text from a friend who was playing Counterstrike and I raced home to join the game. While playing Dust_de someone wrote "they're bombing the WTC" and I responded "WTCs not on this map"..
tower seven was an inside job. it was not hit by a plane, it wasn't hit by debris, or melted by fire. after all the planes hit, it went down in a controlled demolition style explosion. bush knew.
@cabinfevrr Saying Building 7 wasnt hit be debris from the falling WTC towers makes you look like even more stupid than the bylaw dummy...
It was both hit by a massive amount of debris and there were massive fires inside. I really do not believe why people make stuff up like that. I bet you believe in UFOs as well.
my rich basterd neighbor had a party on 9/11 this year and was playing middle easter music... and he was arrogant enuff to ask for requests fuckin terroist basterd
@dirtrider383 Canadians may talk shit about us but that day made Canada and the US forget theyre 2 different countries. It takes a tragedy to bring people together sometimes.
@dirtrider383 no need to be American to pay respect man, those people died in a trajic way and the world felt the pain of the american nation that day. RIP 911
I was at work. I finished the day of work and watched TV well into the next day, it total disbelief, wondering if this was the beginning of War on North American soil. The fuel and magnesium in the Aircraft were more than sufficient to do what we all saw. The planes were full of fuel, minutes after take-off. One gallon of avgas has an equivalency of (trying too remember) its 3 or 8 sticks of dynamite. So over 100,000 gallons on a plane 300,000 or 800,000 sticks of dynamite... yeah, it was real.
I too was working nights but on a large dairy farm ! When I woke up I hear(I use to go to sleep with the tv on) then see what is going on at first I thought I must be dreaming! I was like wtf this is real !
Pulling the boat out of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore MD, after sampling the water quality around the Honewell site. We have a skyscraper in Baltimore also known as the World Trade Center, and the next day, we could not launch the boat to sample in the harbor near the Baltimore WTC.
i was in 2st grade and the princapal came in the room and told the teacher and she broke out crying and then she collected herself and told us but i was only like 6 or 7 so i diden comprehend it
9th grade 4th period I think out of 8 periods in a day, about 9:30ish. history class with that asshole mr monte. Didn't believe it until I got home and saw the news myself at like 2:30-3:00 ish
I was on my way to the steel yard to pick up supplys for a trailer I was building for the boss. The truck I was in didnt have a radio so I didnt hear any thing. I get to the steel yard and that place is always got tons of guys out in the yard and the sheds and stuff. Not a soul around. I finaly go in the main building and theres about fifty people, customers and employees all piled around this little 13 inch TV. It was something else I can say that. Made my heart sink to watch. Still does.
I was a driver at the time for a US MAIL contractor and I was in Chicago, on the highway when we first heard, then we all got sent all over the country because all of the planes were grounded....
I had to work that day and my alarm went off with all the talk about it so I turned on my tv to see the second plane hit.But there was other events you had the one that hit the pentagon and the one that went down in PA.That was a messed up day that will never be forgot.
i wus in school in 3rd and the teacher turned on the tv and said theres bin a plan crash 1 plan crashed in to a building and i looket up at the tv i saw a plane go into the other building and i wus like wtf call my mom NOW and i went home lol and stayed at the tv for a week lol
i was sitting in the cafe in high school. people was talking about a jet hitting a building in new york but i didn't believe it until the morning announcement cam on
I was live on the radio doing my radio show. After the first plane hit, we went live news. I still have nightmares about watching the feed on TV and describing what I was seeing live on the radio. I will never forget it. Then in March of 2002 I went to NYC with a group of firefighters and worked on the site. I'll never forget.
I was in my Senior year of High School in my Science class more like a snooze fest but hey hadda go., after it struck the only thing I could think of was R.E.M. "It's The End Of The World".
My girlfriend and i where driving to high school it was our senior year it was on the radio when we got to school everyone was talking about it we went to the library. and watch it on the big screen. I didnt know that to think then the tv played a video of bin laden, and he took credit for it and was laughing about it say it was a good day for them and their kind fuckers i cant wait till they hang his ass like they did too saddam hussein
I was working in Barrie at Georgian college drilling, taking soil samples. Being outside I had no idea what was going. At lunch I went to the cafeteria for take out and noticed literally everyone watching the news. I didn't know what was going on I just figured all these college kids were keeners for the news. I turned on the tv when I got home and could not believe it. I couldn't do anything but sit and watch the live footage. I'll never forget it
well chris i had finish secondry school and was on the second day of working in a furniture factory found out at lunch time in Ireland Thought 2 me self the word is fucked the world is fucked but i look out the window every was fine in ireland
i was across the river i actually heard the booms and didnt know what to think then the navy lock down their base and told us to get inside we turned on the new it was a loop of video of people jumping out of the building then went on a video loop of same man jumping and screaming
I was in 7th grade, had heard rumors about it all day...finally after all the lunches when I was in Social Studies class our principal gave us the news through the PA...Our teached had told us ahead of time that we were gonna find out on the PA but everyone was still in complete shock (including the teacher who had already seen stuff on TV)....I remember going home and watching it over and over...stupid fuckin towelheads...fuck you Bin Laden, and FUCK YOU G.W. BUSH you KNEW it was coming!
Since I live in Sweden I was at work. A colleague told me to turn on the radio. I thought the story was gonna be about some nut flying a cessna into WTC because of fog or whatever.
Anyway as I got home and turned on the TV the American news channels was just a mess with speculations. I knew that even more people were gonna be killed after the dust had settled. The world truly took a turn for the worse that day.
I remember thinking, some day I'm gonna miss the world as it was pre 9/11,and I do.
Who's to say it's not a conspiracy? Our military's can go into Iraq and find Saddam in a tiny underground bunker but we can't find Bin Laden after all these years? And with him addressing videos to us boasting about what he was responsible for that day. Seems odd to me.
I wan in the 3rd grade, my teacher took the class outside to tell us the new that the twin towers had gone down......i didnt know what the twin towers were at the time so i really didnt care......i remember it being on the tv for 4 weeks straight. As i got older i realized that the twin towers meant something to this world and cried and felt deeply sorry for the people who had lost there lifes and to the famliys that lost there loved ones...
My stepdad was, there when it happened hauling some produce in his tractor trailer, and stopped when he heard it on the radio and seen it all happen, he says to this day he wish he never seen it happen
I was asleep, I left the tv on from the night before and I woke up at about 11:30 and I thought it was a movie also so I grabbed the remote and shut off the tv, then I woke up again at about 1:00 and lit up an antler and turned the tv back on and was like holy shit I wish I had stayed up and realized what was happening earlier that day.
Was on the way to work, and didn't even know about it till I got there an hour later cuz I was playing a CD in the car instead of listening to the radio like I usually do. Freaky ass day. I remember a new Slayer CD came out that day, and watching the muslims in Detroit dancing in the streets on the news that night. Wonder how many got beat down....
You know it REALLY amazes me that one IDIOT meaning rosie odonut speaks out in all her confused gay rantings and says something was a conspiracy of the government and all of a sudden people put all this stock in what she says. not another thing the bitch said makes any fucking sense and that's what everyone latched on to and all the nuts come out of the wood work with stories as to how. IT'S STUPID people most of us watched it live there was no conspiracy. it just happened! Sad but True.
@gorditaking69 I'm not saying that , good point though! All i am saying is don't be so quick to buy into conspiracy theories, specially not video conspiracy because of all things that can easily be manipulated video is the easiest.
I was working for Sprint PCS at the time working, showed up to work, heard about the first plane thought they were talking about a little private plane, found out it was a jet liner, then went in to start working, went out to break and watched as the second plane hit LIVE, went back to work and was talking to a lady on the phone that was trying to find out why her cell phone wasn't working who was right across the street, heard stuff falling and hitting the ground outside before it came down
In 2nd grade, mrs. linz class english. someone came into the room and told her to go to the office, her daughter in law worked in tower 2, but i think she either got out or didnt work that day.
I was getting ready to go to work. My parents call me and told me to put it on CNN. At the time only one trade center was hit, then a few minutes later the next tower. And they took out the Pentagon. So I went into work and they sent us home. I work for Continental Airlines. Didn't go in for like 4 days.
My first thought when i saw it on tv was weather it was fake or not, i was convinced that it was some sort of show or something (i was in grade 7 i think at the time) untill my parents convinced me that it was actually happening...
I was bust fitting a stereo to my Citroen AX I used to have when my mum came running out to the garden to tell me the first plane had hit the tower. I rushed back inside and was transfixed in front of the TV for the rest of the day - a truly horrific and devastating day for people across the world. I shall never forget what happened that day. My thoughts and prayers are with the 3000 that didn't make it. R.I.P
I happened to be on the Washington State Ferry WENATCHEE when I heard about it. I had turned on the radio to get a traffic report (the walkman I had could receive TV stations as well as weather channels). As I was listening to Kiro 7, I, like 1puglife, thought I was watching a movie. Then it dawned on me that I was on the 6:20 AM ferry out of Bainbridge Island on a Tuesday...a time when they have the morning news on. That's when I realized what I was hearing was actually happening.
I was at work painting the outside of a county building and the highway boys told us about it and we listened to it on the raido in the car untill they let us county employee's go home. FDNY & NYPD RIP from one Firefighter to another we MUST REMEMBER OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO PASS EACH DAY Member of VARICK VOL FIRE DEPT New York
i was school and it was just after lunch break a buddy had went home during lunch and seen it on tv when he came bk he told us be just couldn't believe it . then when i went home for the day i seen it on tv it was still on every channel
My "other woman" had just gone home, she phoned me telling me to put Sky News on the TV. I went to her house and we couldn't believe our eyes when the second plane hit.
It was also my wedding anniversary that day, one which I'll never forget.
I was at a customer ,fixing his TV ( i was a tv repair man before my actual job ) Then i saw the report of the sad stuff when i tried the TV after it got fixed . The customer and me have struggled to realize it was true, we believe that it was a film clip.
Was skipping 3rd period, hanging out at a candy shop and the shop keeper told us what happened

I was a freshman in high school. Second period Mr. Hoover's world history class. He was 10 minutes late to class which wasn't unusual for that old bastard. He rushed into the class and turned on an old tv and said "your going to remember this moment forever, just like I remember where I was when Kennedy was shot"

It was the most surreal day I have ever had. I had been at work most of the day. I had classes but I needed the money and we were making a proposal for Playboy in Scandinavia, so I skipped a day, and had I not done that I would not have seen the second plane hit. Strange thing. Some hours after launch I got a text from a friend who was playing Counterstrike and I raced home to join the game. While playing Dust_de someone wrote "they're bombing the WTC" and I responded "WTCs not on this map"..

tower seven was an inside job. it was not hit by a plane, it wasn't hit by debris, or melted by fire. after all the planes hit, it went down in a controlled demolition style explosion. bush knew.
cabinfevrr 1 year ago
@cabinfevrr Saying Building 7 wasnt hit be debris from the falling WTC towers makes you look like even more stupid than the bylaw dummy...
It was both hit by a massive amount of debris and there were massive fires inside. I really do not believe why people make stuff up like that. I bet you believe in UFOs as well.

IT'S STUPID people most of us watched it live there was no conspiracy. it just happened! Sad but True.
