  • For those of you who disagree with Freirean ideologies...

Step One: Actually read the book that you are bashing.

    Step Two: Read it again.

Step Three: Take the time to come to your own "explicit awareness"

Step Four: Im sure at this point you will come to find your own level of oppression in your communities and find the parts of Paulo you actually like instead of picking up stones to throw at an amazing man with reformation ideas that even draw out the patriot in you.

  • yukoshima or whatever your name is.

    you are so off.

  • @dedfred1209

No, Freire is a Marxist who wants world-wide revolution. He is a poison that is used in education by Left-wingers (communists) to foment class and race hatred and dissent. The Leftists will not give up the "dream" that led to murders and horrors by Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. These people think that they can get it right the "next time." Apparently, you believe this filthy rot.

  • @yukiomishima246 Apparently, you believe whatever your corporate masters tell you. In particular, you believe that all Marxists support the corrupt, state capitalist dictatorships of the USSR, China, N. Korea & N. Vietnam parading under the "communist" banner. You probably also think that there is a clearly defined thing called "capitalism" & that it doesn't contain many different types of political economy within its ranks. Similarly, you think "socialism" doesn't have many different schools.

  • @yukiomishima246

God, you scumfuck right-wingers are the motherfucking scum of the motherfucking Earth.

The United States of America -- in its quest to "prove" the superiority of capitlism -- invaded and murdered 3-4 million Southeast Asians during the Vietnam conflict.

When do you fucks come to an end? Wheeeeen?

Scum of the motherfucking Earth is what you fucking are. We will kiil you all. All of you. We will kill you fucking dead. Every last one of you motherfucking pig fuck scum.

  • @yukiomishima246 . I think it's interesting that the usual way to discredit ways of thought that you might find disagreeable is to binstantly bring up the names of mass murderers who took certain principles from this school of thought and used them to opposite ends. The discussion would be much more honest if it centred on the ideas and how they potentially liberate. Those that pull out extremes do so in fear.

  • Powerful!

  • It is important to fully understand the basis of this "pedagogy" by Freire: Revolutionary Marxism.

They can couch it in whatever terms they think will make it more acceptable, but it is really a kind of "guided teaching" in which the students are guided to be class conscious and anti-free market. In short, this "pedagogy" is indoctrination of children into radical Marxism.

  • But, isn't this a good thing? while Freire is not a Marxist. while he may use class anaysis of Marx, but, in my view Freire is a radical democrat, while I never read in his work. I had never read that he advocated the seizure of "State Power" by the oppresssed of labour. His is a radical humanism dealing with tne "Human Predicament......"

  • "In short, this 'pedagogy' is indoctrination of children into radical Marxism." Is there something else you are trying to say, or are you indoctrinating children with radical indifference? If you have something to say, say it--don't dance around your intentions.

This material is excellent for promoting critical thought, and only people who desire control and power in an oppressive manner will attack this work, which is odd because Freire is all about freedom, unlike so called free markets.

  • Free markets are the very basis of freedom. The protection of private property is absolutely essential to freedom.

Freire's "critical thought" is not critical; it leads to a rigid dogmatism, a kind of brainwashing to which you obviously subscribe - the one of the Marxist-Maoist variety.

Freire is the complete antithesis of freedom, unless one subscribes to a Marxist "freedom" in which we are relieved of our economic burdens to go on to a true freedom (excuse me while I vomit).

  • @yukiomishima246 The history of markets overall the world has exhibited cruel from of usury and enslavement. I agree with a previous comment that you are so off.

  • @kadi723

Actually, because of CAPITALISM, there are fewer people in poverty than ever. Longevity has increased, as well as the reduction in infant deaths and increase in the level of income and education worldwide. Freire and his kind of people bring misery, hatred, war and poverty. The market brings freedom and prosperity.

    Sorry.

  • @yukiomishima246 You are in pretty serious denial. Go consume some more FOX tripe, and stuff your brain full of hatefilled cheetopuffs. uck.

  • @yukiomishima246 You don't have to "teach" children class consciousnes any more than you have to "teach" black children that there is racism. Admitting that there are such things is considered to be "teaching" it by those who are terrified that the kids might find out. Ha Ha .

  • @grandmachristine42 There is a difference between "admitting" something and emphasizing it. The former leads to truth; the latter leads to hate and distortions of the truth.

You, sir, are one of the worst types of racists of the pernicious sort: You promote racism and claim the opposite to yourself in the same breath.

This is the height of hypocrisy and ugliness.

  • For Any Chicano/a Educator, Activist, Revolutionary, and Freethinker, this book is a must read.

  • this guy really knows what he is talking about but if you are a teacher or professor try practicing diaological enphaisis

PEDAGOGY IS THE WAY YOU GIVE A CLASS ANALYSIS IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THIS WORD THAT MEANS YOUR EDUCATION IS NOT HIGH ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND WORDS LIKE GUFF AND ALSO EMANCIPATORY LITERACY

  • what the fuck is a pedagogy?

  • pedagogy means teaching method(s)

  • The speaker touches upon the failure of motivation between 4th and 5th grade and of the "elected" leaders failure to budget to educate. The speaker speaks as if these "leaders" were not doing the will of their true "constituency": The Ruling Class. To wit: To keep the "voting" public under educated, propagandized, oppressed, and exploited. Of course he wouldn't dare say such even if he thought so. Point is. The "elected" leaders are aren't failing really, but doing their dirty work as paid for.

  • troll much?

  • it is an amazing book

  • Its an ok book. But you have to remember its a book of/for the collective and like all collectives, when the individual gives up him/herself then you belong to 'higher authorities' or for the 'social good'. Conscientisation should really mean when a perso becomes more conscious of their own power and to fulfill the hopes and desires that they have to fullfill their own life. NOT to become part of a sad collective where you end up apeing the very thing that oppressed you in the first place.

  • Paulo Freire's book flew over your head. His essay, "The Banking System of Education" changed the world. I hold Paulo Freire in the highest respect for his work. Your critique is completely wrong. Paulo Freire was a Collective EXISTENTIALIST. Paulo Freire is not writing for the 'collective' you moron, he is writing for the individual COLLECTIVELY. He talks about how the oppressed lose consciousness and become dehumanized.

  • its a good book

  • It's a GREAT book! It's a transformative book.

  • Great comments from you both
