This show was shown on late night TV in the States by CBS on Friday Nights. Before that, The New Avengers was in that time slot around '78-'80 as I recall.
@WhitstableWilliams I recommend you try it one day, I think you'll find it a real treat! Next on my list is a S3 Lotus Esprit ! ! ! One can only dream........
One of the great mistakes product placement wise. In the original series with Roger Moore the producers asked Jaguar for a white E Type. Jaguar turned them down saying they needed every one for export. So they went to Volvo instead for the P1800. When ITC decided to remake the Saint with Ian Ogilvy Jaguar were only to willing to give them the E Types replacement the XJ-S.
I don't remember if the series was ever shown Stateside, but we did get a "made for TV movie" which was simply two episodes edited together, with the title The Saint And The Brave Goose, and completely different theme music. Anyone out there got that one?
@Kohntarkosz The series was broadcast on the CBS Late Movie. The only episode I remember watching was one with Frederick Jaeger where a woman on a train witnessed a murder.
St.Helens rugby club opening new stadium soon,i would love to think that Ian could open it,St.Helens have been using the Saint logo ffrom the TV for as long as i can remember!
I remember watching this series back in 1978. I loved it soo much that I ordered the full season of this excellent series. Unfortunately they only made 1 season.
The XJS was my 1st love for a car & I will 1 day own the same type car <3
They had thought originally to call it son of the saint. Ian ogilvy was not sure what accent to use for templar & ended up doing what he called his cary grant impression because producer, robert.sbaker, likened the voice to an english gent....
who else thinks it would have being better if the show would have been about "stickman" from the titles..

I remember this TV opening with the animated saint running around when I was a kid back in 1981. It was cool to watch.
