Kevin recorded his voice in a tape recorder and played it slow pretending it was his father making a reservation. Then when he went to the front desk, he told the person that his father was at a meeting and dropped him in the lobby and gave his credit card to Kevin for him to check in, and the hotel believed him and told him once his father arrives that he needs to sign a few things. (At the end, the hotel told his parents that it was a very convincing story which is why they let him in).

Well, the concierge did say that he was going to find out what the police are going to say about the credit card fraud. So maybe the concierge was going to ask the police if they can send Kevin to juvenile home since he is 10 years old. The reason I think this is because, I used to know someone who is/was a thief at age 13 or 14 and he broke into a store in the middle of the night and the alarm went off and instead of arresting him, the police told him they would send him to juvenile home.
