this is really interesting, because its not like fallout 3 based on imaginary shelters that the creators made up, but something truly huge and unreal, but real. the moscow subway has more than 300km of tunnels that are being used by trains, and much more in rooms and small passages. if a nuclear war would break out, people would survive in the subway, and the secret nuclear bunkers as well.

@Ruizbros2 Its about an apocalyptic future where the nuclear missiles were launched everywhere including in Moscow (where you are located) you are named Artyom, and he lives a life of an underground dweller like everybody else under their great city and one day something was different its not the usual mutated beasts that attack it is something else and you are tasked on going to a station to get help because your station is in jeopardy, it gets better from there.

Its for 360, PS3 and PC.

@Ruizbros2 is an exclusive game of microsoft its only available for the xbox360 console but you can also buy it on the PC platform good thing about the PC is that there is an option that lets you play the game on 3D. this game is based on the books of Dmitry ghlucovsky metro 2033 maybe next year or in 2012 if the world doesnt end (that will be a coincidence) 4A games will bring out to the light metro2034

oh god... People are comparing this game with other games... I am reading the book now and it has nothing to do with fallout... Stop crying out fallout 3 all the time, the *real* fallout 3 never came. It is an oblivion game(more then 80 hours of quests) with less quests and the game is all about following the compass mark, thats not a fallout game.... I dont know anything about stalker one. There are some guys called "ştalker" at the book who go to the upper world to collect some goods...

Mainly elements of S.T.A.L.K.E.R are in this game, but the fact the whole world is dealing with the issue is an element of Fallout 3. You can compare a lot actually from the atmosphere of this game, to the atmosphere of S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Fallout, you just have to think about it. Different story of course.

If you like call of priyapt or fallout3. You will probably hate this. THis game is awful if your into open environment games. Its so linear it may as well play itself too. Personally I just wasted 60 Euros on this a few hours ago. Uninstalled it already. Not even a decent tech demo if your using an ATI card. I suspect its very NVida optimised to the exclusion of anything else. People that like an interactive story type thing like cryostasis will probably like it though.

@Makadonska27 It really depends on why you like CoP and F3. I liked the open map, but also the atmosphere. Metro 2033 could have been open though. But I had to use cheats to have infinite powerful ammo so the fights aren't boring.

So yeah, if you like the game mostly for the world and atmosphere you will like Metro 2033, if you like games for the gameplay or freedom, you will hate it.

That's impossible. Stalker and Metro 2033 are similar in every way except graphics. MW2 sucks and fails at realism. and there's NO WAY for MW2 to be better than stalker. Fallout 3 is a good game, but after a while it starts to get boring.

@FKnEwS So you're an idiot, congratulations. Metro and Stalker are not very comparable, similar theme, but the gameplay is entirely different, with Stalker leaning more into the Survival Horror genre.

I suppose, Metro, despite the good game that it is, would appeal more to the mindless call of duty/counterstrike crowd who like their games both forgiving and linear. I have both Metro and Stalker, I like both, but Stalker is definitely more difficult and has more replayability.

this must be using the source engine it have the looks to have the same feel of counterstrike source. the ak-47 besides the scope looks and shoots exactly the same as in counterstrike. this game looks amazingly graphically and as soon as i saw it reminded me of the first time i layed my eyes on half life 2 game play. did THQ buy out valve or is 4A games the new valve logo?

Got it, beat it in a little over a day. I'd say it was worth it, but my xbox is modded and games are free, so my sense of value for games is out of wack :p

nice graphics, interesting (although kind of hard to follow) story.

I played over half the game without knowing what I was working towards.

Ending was a little bit ubrupt, but had good closure.

neat weapons, not too many dif. kinds of enemies, interesting currency system.

All in all, 8/10 from me.

ugh i hate when any post apacalyptic game comes out, every one compares every little detail with fallout 3. Ok we get it, fallout 3 is a great game, but metro has nothing in common with fo3 besides the fact that it takes place after a nuclear apocalypse. one thing this game reminds of ss S.T.A.L.K.E.R trilogy., both these games have a great atmosphere. just got half way through the game and its kick ass so far. i recommend getting it :D, the realism in it is phenomenal
